Ok, please don't flame me for this - I have never been to the poly and I don't know what the culture is like there. Would it be entirely inappropriate of us to bring our three little girls to the beach in their pajamas to watch the fireworks/ electrical water parade? Normally this is not something I would consider but they'll probably be bathed already and need to get to sleep ASAP afterwards. (Unfortunately I don't think I can justify TPV to my husband : )

We do this every year and my kiddos are 9 and 6, not inappropriate to me!

I would never flame you for a question. How little are your girls? I don't see a problem with it. I have seen kids in the foodcourts at Disney in their PJ's and these were not little kids either. No one ever said anything.

I don't think this would be a problem at all! Have a great trip!

Kinda makes me sad that someone would think they would be flamed for a simple question. I guess maybe it happens on other boards but it bothers me that someone is afraid about asking about taking their little ones to the beach in their Pj's. Just a simple question and something that is perfectly fine to do. I guess I just feel sad that anyone has to fear posting on any thread on the Dis. One thing I have found especially on this board is that we all pitch in and help each other, everyone is nice, and everyone is super helpful.

That's the worst question ever, how dare you?? :rotfl2: :lmao:

As everyone else said, totally cool.

Also on recent topic, we thought the fireworks on the beach were better than in the club lounge. We thought it was a little too bright with the upstairs light on, and hard to hear the music over the clanging of the club staff cleaning up after the dessert service. And the other club guest loudly humming along to all the songs. :confused3. By the beach was perfect.

psac I was just looking at your past and future trips and I seriously think Disney needs to give you a memorial room with a bronze plaque! I love it that you are able to go so much and I hope Disney pixie dusts you for all your trips.

I agree with the pp's that there's nothing wrong/inappropriate with taking your little ones to the beach in their pjs. We don't pay extra for views and IMO, there's no bad view at the Poly. I'm sure the TPV is nice and makes for a convenient evening with kids to watch fireworks from your room/balcony, but the beach is a great place for viewing with just a short walk back to your room. So go enjoy and have a great time :wizard:.

I agree. I have seen many new posters get blasted for asking questions that are either hot topics and/or simple things that us experienced Dis'ers might know, but a newcomer might not (thus, their reason for being here). Some people are too quick to take offense to questions thinking the answer is obvious, but don't realize that not everybody is Disney savvy and some people are brand new to Disney and are just looking for guidance. I have seen people post that they were/are afraid to ask certain questions for fear of being flamed and it is sad because these boards are very informative and can be very helpful to people planning trips, but I'm sure some stay away for fear of being flamed :sad2:.

Oh, and let me chime in as another who would never have a problem with kids on the beach in their PJs. No big deal at all!

Awww... you all are so nice! No wonder everyone likes the Poly so much. The people who stay there are most definitely not the flaming sort. :)

My kids are 9, 6 & 5. I'll plan on doing the pajama thing, then. I suppose I'll need to pack some blankets in my luggage. (?) We're going in Mid-November.

Oh - I don't think I found out yet if there is hot cocoa available for the dining plan mugs. I know chocolate before bed is not necessarily wise, but hey it's Disney and if we have the kids bathed before fireworks we can handle tooth-brushing afterwards. :) Is the drink area even open at that time of night? Now I'm thinking I might have to pack baileys or kahlua or something to pour into some decaf. Although now I'm wondering if that's even allowed and maybe I am supposed to go to a bar somewhere nearby if I want a drink?? :upsidedow

Thank you for the hug mickeynut1. It was a rough time but my wonderful dh and kids helped me to get through it.

BringingUpDisney if you want to get together while we are both there give me a yell and we can set something up. I would love to meet the people who have helped to make our trip extra special.

KarrieAlex - sounds like a plan! Perhaps Tambu Lounge? We can figure it out as it gets closer. I can't wait for the holidays Poly style. ;-)

So I just uploaded my pics to PB. I am going to be doing a TR and will be posting them there eventually, but figured y'all might be interested in the pics I took of the Poly while we were there last week...Enjoy!!

I am drooling at these pictures!! I am so excited I can't stand it!!

leannak there is a bar at the Poly called the Tambu Lounge. Capt Cooks is the quick service and I believe is open until 11 or 12 and I believe they do have hot cocoa. I see no reason why you couldn't bring some Bailey's with you. I can't imagine anyone would have a problem with it. As far as I know the only place to get something like Bailey's in coffee is the club lounge and you have to be staying club level to do that so I would go for it and bring it with you. Heck it's not like you are gonna get schnockered on the beach during Wishes. LOL

BringingUpDisney it's a plan! Would be great to relax in the lounge and have a drink and get to know you!

leannak you are right the people here are the nicest and we all do stay at the Poly. I actually asked a question on this board that normally on any other board I would have gotten flamed for but here I was not and was guided to where I could find the info and not have someone jump on me.

Is Capt. Cooks where you fill refillable mugs? (And did I hear you can only fill up 3 times now with the RFID mugs??)

Also, we mostly likely are NOT staying club level... but that lounge looks pretty small/narrow. How on earth do several club level people hang out in there to watch fireworks, etc. without being on top of each other? I would feel like we were taking over the place with our group of 7!!!

So sorry if my pics aren't all that accurate!! The lounge is actually really big. If I'm not mistaken, it's the biggest lounge on property. It also has a second floor that you can use. While we were there, it was pretty busy in the main area, but the second floor of the lounge (which is actually the third floor of the resort) was always pretty empty. It really is pretty big!
