All DVC owners need to contact member services to complain about the NBA

And this is the beauty of them never actually giving you detailed information.

It's like a 180 from 18 months ago and how everyone was upset at how underhanded Disney was with lock off premiums (at which point they just acted dumb and repealed).

ok, but I am not going to be part of a world where I hold someone liable for an action they have not even taken yet, but only there is an environment where they could take it.

that’s like saying you should just be arrested right now because you might leave your house without a mask, even though you haven’t done it or said you would.

it’s worse than guilty until proven innocent. It’s guilty because you potentially could scare me. There was a Tom Cruise movie about that... and I didn’t like that world either.

give me something concrete or you have nothing,

Except they have taken the action.....

Check Twitter and even this site the dividers are already up.

No it's like you already are walking down the sidewalk to the store. Again check the pictures of these fences already up restricting access.

No it's already fenced off and you already prepaid for the 2020 year meaning money has already been given for this maintenance. Without some notice of change of fees and refunds on what was paid it means the money way taken, distributed, and now what you paid to have maintained was removed.

A better analogy is having a condo, paying your HOA for the year for the park, then the HOA behind closed doors selling the park to the next door neighborhood who restricts your access to it.

There is also a saying about fool me once.... Disney lost the ability to act like they are working in everyone's best interest collectively. Thus this needs to be called out and DVC should proactively be communicating how this is applied to MFs at these resorts.

All I will say, like it or not, is cash guest vs. timeshare owner. Could Disney decide to do something for DVC owners? Sure,

But, remember if the Disney hotels are closed..GF, YC and BC, then anything like pools, boat docks, etc. that remain open for only DVC villas most likely get billed only to DVC.

That is why SAB would not open...even if the NBA wasn’t there, because then DVCM would have had to agree to pay. 100% of the costs vs, the approximately 19% that I have seen reported. Not even sure they would have the ability to have told Disney that.

Again, maybe I am weird, but all this stuff does not bother me and when WL was under construction they contacted DVC guests to try and move them.
There's not that many people that would stay at the BCV without SAB. Its like staying at the AKV without any animals on the grounds. I think BCV owners have a right to be upset. Disney knew guests would be upset when they put the NBA in the Yacht club and gave them SAB so they should be prepared for upset guests.

...they aren't opening SAB per resort staff.

Animals are not guaranteed, per the AKV POS.

This is a timeshare. You are guaranteed only the opportunity to book a room within a given time frame along with everyone else who owns. There's no guarantee for theme parks, pools, animals, or any other amenity.

Guarantee as in a binding legal requirement, no. But there is certainly a good faith assumption that the very reasons you booked a Villas for are operational when you get there.

I never said it was guaranteed. I was only saying that most wouldn't stay there. Its not guaranteed but face it, people love the Beach Club Villas and it usually is more resale than the BWV because of SAB.

I'm more annoyed that people who paid for all stars are getting to stay at DVC for no extra money! They are using the rooms, facilities, etc and have no concern for them

That sounds kind of elitist. Hotel guests are hotel guests. There's no proof that people staying at All Stars will trash DVC rooms. I've stayed at All Stars plenty of times, and I've used my points at DVC resorts plenty of times. Should I be judged as less worthy of a DVC room because I've stayed at the All Stars?

And do we know for sure that all BCV owners would have been willing to cover 100% of the costs? Would DVCM even have had the authority to agree to that without owner approval?

SAB is certainly a big draw, but the owners pay about 20% of it costs from what I have read..Disney pays the rest and without guests at BC...or having YC full of guests...and it being part of their hotel, owners really have no right to expect them to.

Absolutely some of the things happening are disappointing and may be an inconvenience.

I cancelled a BCV vacation recently (not because of COVID, but just a reschedule) and could not get back in when plans changed again. I was lucky enough to get into BWV. However, I would have been really upset if SAB was closed to DVC or any hotel guest who is there to "vacation" and the NBA got access when they are there to "work". I understand Disney's desire to get the NBA revenue, but they don't need to give up anything to them. The NBA should just be grateful enough to get their jobs back use the leisure pool to relax.

Super confused. Is SAB going to be open to NBA? Are the BC owners still going to be paying their 1/3 share to maintain SAB? If both are "yes", then I agree with the OP. BC points are more expensive than BW points for a reason. Namely: SAB. If either are "no" then I don't think there's a big enough issue to get worked up about. This is COVID - things are going to TEMPORARILY be different for a while.

Veering off of SAB, but as an owner, I have a slight issue with someone who booked at a value and is getting bumped to a 1 or 2 bedroom. I get that they can do this but maybe bump the owners first to those rooms and then fill in the studios with the people who were moved. Or maybe even give the owners the option to upgrade for no extra points (some may still prefer a studio). I'm a little honked that I booked a trip 11 months ago and I leave in two weeks and still cannot buy park tickets for that trip or the one I have booked in December. Sure, I could have bought the tickets long ago but I decided to hold onto the money until it got closer. Maybe I'm not seeing the big picture or maybe I'm being a snob but upgrade the people who made the decision to buy there first.

The problem with bumping owners is legally, who gets it? Cash guests have no connection to another cash guest,

However, each owner at a resort has paid for their share and who gets to pick which guest is the one bumped.

Disney is an owner, just like you and me, and if they want to use their points to move a guest into a DVC room, I’m not sure why people believe they should have to choose another owner.
