All DVC owners need to contact member services to complain about the NBA

Disney is catering to themselves.

NBA and MLS are critical to ESPN's earnings. In total, the media + guaranteed income at the resorts and for catering is a lot more important than an individual guest's happiness right now for shareholders.

Which could probably be appeased with offers such as free dining, free park tickets, etc. The fact that its not even been brought up is basically a joke.

Free dining? Half their sit downs are closed. Would be a hot mess. It is why they stopped the FD promo they had. FD is paid for by resorts, so DVC would have to pay for it somehow, and that would mean dues support.

Free tickets? Park reservations and attendance caps. Another hot mess. And another question of how it gets paid for.

Really? Wow! Just wow!

IMO, most DVC members do not share your opinion. I sure don't.

That the resort stay they have paid for is being significantly impeded upon and they should be compensated for that? I think you are in the minority here. Most people dont appreciate being walked all over because a millionaire comes up to the front of the line.

Free dining is possible if its quick serve...the arugment that they cant offer it because of too many people....well are people just not going to be able to eat in the park?

But the NBA campus at Disney map has the Contemporary listed as a practice site:

Early rumors had the practice happening on the outside courts, but now that practice courts are being installed in ballrooms, I wonder if they are using the Contemporary convention center?
They are definitely using the old CSR convention floor.

IMO, ball courts would be a quality use of the old Contemporary convention center. It's definitely the low rent district of the on-site convention facilities. Old and not what modern convention planners want.

IMO, I just don't understand why someone believes that as a DVC owner we have any right to tell Disney what they can and can not do with their property? Owners did not lease the entire grounds of BC and GF...at least, from what I can find it is not that way.

Again, owners did NOT pay for BC, SAB, the courtyard pool, or the GF property. Owners pay a small share to maintain them but that is it. Because MF's are done ahead of time based on projected expenses, when things come up that change it, it will be reflected in the following year.

Because its good business to treat your customers right? Disney doesnt have to refund water park guests when there is a storm part way through the day.... but they still choose to offer them a rain check...why? Because its good business. If I spill my $5 soda, Disney will give me a new one even though it was my fault.

Walking all over your most loyal guests (just as they are doing for ap holders as well) is not going to wear well into the future.

According to Disney and the sales guides, DVC is not just a place to stay and not just any other timeshare. Regardless of contracts, that actually does matter.

And if some of what people were upset about were critical elements, then I would agree with you.

But blocking a sidewalk? Complaining about a blue fence? I mean, yes, courtyard pool is closed, but so are all the rooms at GF..except for NBA...that means the Beaches pool is only being used by DVC villa guest...that is a huge benefit IMO as crowds will be much less.

Yes, SAB is closed, but both BCV and BC pools are open being used by only BCV....crowds will most certainly be less.

Disappointment, I get. Anger and entitlement, I do not.

Half the resort is blocked off.

Half the resort is blocked off.

But the part that is blocked off is the hotel...not the main building, and not the areas of food.

So, DVC villa guests have access to the elements that one needs, The boat dock is blocked, but they are not running those from Poly either.

So again, the areas blocked off are the hotel rooms, not DVC elements and having stayed there multiple times, other than the pool, the fence is not preventing access to buses or monorail, etc.

We can agree to disagree.

So if you go to the magic kingdom and buy a full price ticket, youd be cool if last minute they decided to cut off half the park, no refunds or exchanges because someone rented it out?

Owners at VGF did not pay for the hotel side and are not entitled to it if the owner decides it is not available. The only thing those owners have a right to is to ensure they are not charged when there was loss of use

I am sorry it upsets you and it is a disappointment for anyone who wants to stay there, If I was bothered by it, I would choose elsewhere.

For parks, that is a bit different, because you do buy the ticket for access. However, at any time things can be gone...like now..and one decides if it is worth it,

I have said this many times, I am not bothered by things Disney does when it involves their own properties and their own guests, as long as I am getting what I am entitled to as an owner, and access to a sidewalk, or hotel room buildings is not a big deal for me.

So you would agree they need to start advertising DVC for what it is then, rather than that they have for the past 25 years?
