Airtran sale- kind of funny

I was just searching for flights in May, just to see if the sale they have for then is at all decent. We usually prefer to fly out of Detroit. But I decided to check Buffalo for fun and was surprised to see that out of Buffalo it is $69/way vs. $79 through Detroit. The funny thing is, it is cheaper to fly out of detroit when the taxes are added. Go figure since you would think that the larger airport would have more taxes??

Haha Obviously you don't live in Buffalo.

Our tax rate here is 8.75%. They also have a section on our state income tax forms where they expect us to pay tax on anything we buy over the internet, from Ebay, etc.

The ads say "I love NY" they should say "NY loves your tax dollars!"

No I don't live there, but if you wanna pay more come live in
Ontario, We pay 14% tax. And we know all the hords of taxes that are slammed on you at Canadian airports That's why I love to fly out of the States! I guess when the flights are that close in price I gotta check carefully.

Oh and I can't beleive they try to charge you more tax on you income taxes for internet shopping That's crazy. I guess it is just like the extra 'Shipping' they charge us when packages are delivered that we order from the States, when we already paided the retailer shipping.

Yes, I have been over the border many times.

Besides they must tax you guys to death up there, since I cannot think of any other reason we get so many people from Ontario coming over here to shop.

Gotta love the GST/PST/whatever else they can think of ST.

I have gone to Ontario at least once a month my whole life and I still cannot keep them all straight!!! And that customs fee or import tax or whatever that is.....that is ridiculous!
