Adventures of the "Moms" Panel

Scoopy I love your team name! I was far less original...we're the Happy Mommies!

Yes, I noticed that the both of us just signed up on the WDW Radio forum. I did so to get more info once I heard Lou annouce the EEC meet.

Are any of the Moms Panel planning on doing the meet before the EEC?:)

Thanks, Trish! This trip should be a lot of fun! And, hopefully, we'll be able to meet some fellow DISers (as well as folks associated with WDW Radio) while we're there.

Edited to Add: Oh! And, I hope we get to meet the members of our Moms Panel, of course. (It goes without saying...;) ) 'Sounds like they'll be there in full force and possibly dressed in pink -- unless Bret has something to say about it! :teeth:

Thanks DisgeeksfromDC!:thumbsup2 I knew someone from the Moms Panel would come through. I put it out on a few other threads, but no one could give me all that info! You didn't let me down!

:surfweb: Now who is monitering this thread and notices that DisgeeksfromDC has successfully helped a happy customer!:goodvibes

'Sounds like you might be looking for the Mickey Mouse Creamy Chocolate-Dipped Coconut Patties. (Admittedly, I've never tried them before, but they sound really good! :thumbsup2)

You should be able to find them at the Main Street Confectionery (MK). The Polynesian Resort's BouTiki gift shop also has been known to carry them.

Just for kicks...

*A year-old post about "Disney Branded Chocolate Candies" pulled from the "Candy Blog" site:
(The featured items were purchased in Disneyland.)

*Another interesting post: "Disneyland for Candy Bloggers"

*****

Incidentally, sometimes it helps to check with Walt Disney World Merchandise - Guest Services, Phone: (407) 363-6200 x2

Their tagline: "Where We Deliver the Magic of the Walt Disney World Resort to You." The service allows you to purchase items that you may have forgotten to pick up in the Parks or didn't have time to find. There is a shipping fee, of course.

I just learned from a CM, though, that Disney doesn't ship certain food items. (Hard candy = yes; Chocolate = no.) Fortunately, you'll be at WDW in person, so you can pick up plenty of the chocolatey confections on-site! :woohoo:

Enjoy!

Sure thing! And, thanks for the kind words! :)

(Actually, I'm not a bona fide member of the Moms Panel. 'Just a loyal "groupie" and Mickey Moms Club member to boot... :upsidedow I do hope to become one someday, though! ::yes::)

I know I am trying to put in a good word for you! I haven't talked to my husband yet, but I think I am going to pass this time on the mom's panel entry and hope they continue it. I think next year is going to be too busy and I know my personality and research, I would spend quite a bit of time on it. I'd love the chance in a different year!

Leaving in 4 days for the Beach Club!:woohoo: Just collecting more experience for another time!

Ahhhhh! (Now I get it... :) 'Just a little slow on the uptake!)

Muchas gracias, btw! Did anyone ever tell you that you rock?!? ;)

Have a terrific trip! (And, best wishes whatever you decide! :thumbsup2 )

Wasn't there a club this year for ALL the folks that applied? :rolleyes1

Sorry to be out so long, but I just flew in from DC last night. Scoopy, I thought about contacting you but time passed so quickly.

So who is all doing the race now?
I'm up for the meet!

Yes, the Mickey's Mom Club. Does that mean I'll be thrown out if I don't reapply!:upsidedow

popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

I may be completely off. (Wouldn't be the first time! ;) ) I'm wondering, though, if Bret (Mr. Moms Panelist) is encouraging your husband to step up to the plate and give the Moms Panel application process a whirl... :confused3 ('Cuz I sure hope that the Mickey Moms Club grows to include all applicants past, present and future...)

I know you were probably being funny here, but I wondered the same thing. I am three months prego right now and even though the chances of being picked are something in the range of 1 in 19984 ( I know my math is completely wrong with the law of averages, percentages etc..) I am still concerned that I would have too much on my plate to add to it this coming year. I love being in the Mickey Mom's Club and want to remain a part of it!!

What do you all think?

Suz

Sure, it would be great to have more dads, but I guess I'm really just encouraging everyone to at least apply. This isn't based on any inside info, but it seems safer to apply, than to not apply. It sure was hard to become a member of the Mickey Moms Club this year (OK, it wasn't even possible), if you weren't part of the 10,000 applicants.

I have no idea if the current members of the Mickey Moms club will automatically become members of any club they might have next year (or will they even have a club??:confused3 ). But, it just seems safer to apply, than to not apply. That's all I'm saying.

Plus those who don't get picked may get free stuff again!

Thanks Bret. I didn't even get into any finals last time, but then I'd missed the been to Disney in the past year.

We are leaving in 3 days!:woohoo:

Gotcha! (Good point.)

Two milestones in one day???

The MP site just rolled over 9,000. :scared1:

And it looks like we'll hit page 100 here today as well (who would have thought this thread would last so long?:thumbsup2 ). And what ever happened to our original DIS poster for this thread, Twende??:confused3

Nine thousand!?! That's nuts! party: Congratulations, Panelists! party:

About Twende: That's a really good question! (She checked in a while back -- sometime this Spring or early Summer, I think. That's the last we've heard from her on this thread, though...) "Come out! Come out wherever you are!" :confused3

From a WDW news release yesterday...

Disney Vacation 'Know-It-Alls' Can Apply for 2009 Moms Panel Sept. 8-19
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Disney Parks undertakes its search in September for a group of park-savvy parents to be named the 2009 Walt Disney World Moms Panel, following in the footsteps of the first-ever online Walt Disney World Moms Panel which has been fielding and answering thousands of vacation questions in 2008.

The quest is for 16 parents who pride themselves on being Walt Disney World "know-it-alls" and have an undying passion to share their Disney knowledge with others at www.disneyworldmoms.com. From Sept. 8 through Sept. 19, interested applicants can visit www.disneyworldmoms.com/2009 to apply for the panel. The application process begins with a series of questions and three brief essays -- about their family, why they are a great Walt Disney World vacation planner and their favorite Disney vacationing tip.

"The first-ever Disney Moms Panel has responded to more than 9,000 questions from vacation planners this year. They have offered our guests countless tips to plan a magical vacation at our resort," said Meg Crofton, president of Walt Disney World Resort. "We thank the 2008 panel for their contributions and look forward to working with a new group of parents."

Since the launch of www.disneyworldmoms.com in January 2008, the current 12-person panel has responded to questions covering just about anything from how to sign up for a character dining experience to what items are allowed in the parks.
