Adventures of the "Moms" Panel

I was just checking out the Moms Panel web site (again!) :rolleyes1, and I noticed that there's a new name listed under the "Meet the Moms" section of the site: Michael C from Florida. (There's no picture or official bio posted, but the guy has supposedly answered two questions.) Is this legit or some sort of prank? 'Just curious...

It's a bug in the system. Michael works on the Panel site. I already let them know about the issue. Hope it gets worked out soon.

Isn't it fun being Beta-testers?!:rotfl:

NICE!!!! :rotfl2:

Now, to try to get rid of my pesky double-post (above)....

It's fun to take a break and come over here to read the posts. Thanks everyone for keeping this thread alive.:thumbsup2

Various random comments...

- Glad the mailing went out to everyone today. I think that was a great idea (I heard about it after the email was already sent - honest truth!).

- FYI, I have no knowledge about how to fix issues with voting. Sorry. If we do learn something, we'll be sure to post here.

- Party of 5: That was fun to receive the question that mentioned you and Josh. Unfortunately I made a slight error in my response (I noticed it, so I asked to be allowed to fix it), so it is in limbo right now (in fact I think it currently appears as it Michael answered the questions. Ooops.:)

- Bless7ings: You deserve some kind of medal getting through the 29 (or is it more now?) pages. Kudos. Also thanks for the nice comments about the article. FYI, the next installment should come out in the next newsletter. In total it will be 3 parts, not 2 (boy, what happened to 100-words or less??:rotfl2: )

Have a nice night all!

Look who answered another one of my questions!!!!

I hope I am helping out!!!!

And Bret, we do love looking for HMs. We have the book and actually highlight all the ones we've found and add some in the back. But your right the CMs are the best, not only do they help you out, but they get into almost more then you do!!!

Thanks, and of course I rate you all a 5!!!!!:cheer2:

Annette,

I have a long list of fun details to experience at WDW, but the one that comes to mind for your daughter would be: looking for Hidden Mickeys (HMs). Many (not all) HMs are indoors, and they are truly one of the hidden gems at Walt Disney World.

On a recent visit to Animal Kingdom I spent some time hunting for HMs, and I found that the best way to do it was to ask Cast Members in the ride queues if they are aware of any nearby HMs. Not only can they usually help you out, but you will likely have some interesting conversations with them as well. Most Cast Members love to chat with visitors who notice the details!

If you want some helpful hints about finding HMs, I suggest you look into purchasing Steven Barrett’s “Hidden Mickeys – A Field Guide to Walt Disney World’s Best Kept Secret.” You can find it in many of the WDW stores, as well as at most book retailers.

Happy HM hunting!

I got it too, but nothing is happening when I try to vote for the name. Anyone else have this problem? I guess now we know what Amy, Leanne and Duncan have in mind for the rest of us!

I had trouble voting too and opened the mail in Internet Explorer (I usually use MSN) and it worked!

Darcie answered my question on the Panel!:goodvibes

Are there any table service restaurants that can seat a party of 10 all at one table?

- Asked by Gena from WA on 1/8/2008Answered by
Darcie M., AZ Category
Theme Parks There certainly are. This past September my family of 10 met for eight awesome days at Walt Disney World. We did at least one table service meal per day and we were usually seated at one table (or two tables pulled together). I know that the both the Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom as well as Mama Melrose at Disney's Hollywood Studios were able to accommodate our large group at one table. We were also able to be seated together during our fun and fabulous meals at Ohana, the Kona Cafe, and Whispering Canyon Cafe. I'm sure there are other restaurants in the parks, at the resort hotels, and at Downtown Disney that can accommodate your party size as well.

The best bet to increase your chances of being seated all together is to call for dining reservations 180 days out. You can reach Disney Dining at 407-WDW-DINE. Good luck!

BTW Darcie, if you read this board, one of my closest friends has an 11 year old girl with Down Syndrome also. I'm glad there is someone with this experience on the Panel.

Hey guys and gals!

Just wanted to ask another question. Are all the panelists/Disney execs. having any sort of conference call, etc. regarding the public response and the feedback of the site at any sort of set date? I am just curious as to the vast response of this site or basically "is it what they expected sort of thing".
I didn't know if they had a time frame as to their expectations of response/sucess. I didn't know if anyone knew any scoop regarding this issue. I am sure you would be included in their findings & research. As you know from this board, your feedback should be incredible and better than they anticipated! I feel it would be positive because a lot of people aren't aware of other boards like us..can I say it??? Disney geeks! Having it right there on the Disney website is awesome for the "average or first time" Disney vacationer!

I never rec'd an email when I submitted my question. It was a specific question as to our travel time to Disney/crowds,etc.

I am still unable to answer the email from the club because of the address change. I sent an email to tech support. Hoping to get this fixed before the 13th or I will be I guess excluded from the "club"!

Ditto on Erin's post, Bret...do you sleep? Looking forward to Bret's additional article! Make sure you post it here because I only frequent this board!

Thanks everyone!
Leslie

Hi -I'm a semi-finalist who received the email last night and can't seem to register a vote either.

Have updated my profile, had this accepted, but still can't click on one of the four name choices and have it submitted.

Frustrating, as one other writer noted - we don't want Disney to think we're not interested!

Speaking of interested - the Mom's Panel page just gets better and better. The questions seem to be flying in - how do you panelists manage to carry on with the rest of your (Busy) lives?

I think we all appreciate that you also make the time to keep us updated on the behind the scenes experience of what it's like to be a member of the panel.

Keep of the great work!!!!

So if we don't/can't vote, does that mean we don't get to "join" this club? Or does that just mean that we don't get to be part of choosing a name? I guess I thought we didn't have to vote on the name to be part of it.:confused3

For those of you having trouble with the link; try opening it in Internet Explorer. I work with different systems at work and this is our #1 answer when there are issues accessing our online application, etc. IE seems to always do the trick. Our #2 answer is to clear your Internet Cookies and Temporary files (Tools/Internet Options). Good luck!

I just read some more of the Q&A's...I think I'm addicted! If I'm reading the home page right, you guys have answered 269 questions already! And it's just the soft opening...I can't imagine the volume when it's officially announced!

I didn't check this today...but I did yesterday...I wonder if there will be a link from the travel section of Disney.com to the Moms Panel. I think that would be a great idea!

Anyway, keep up the good work!

P.S. I also had a chance to watch the group video, man you guys made a lot of noise when you were clapping in the line at the beginning of the video!

I have a question for Kim with the baby. (seems how I have a 13 mth old and am still nursing) You never updated us on what you ended up doing. I am interested in how it all ended? Did your family go? Did you wean?

Hey there! It's Heather R. with the baby, not Kim. ;)

I didn't wean her, just finally convinced her to drink from a sippy cup. We'd gotten one of those sample cans of formula in the mail so I didn't even have to buy any, what luck. She drank that while I was gone, and I just pumped and dumped. (Sorry if that's TMI anyone!) Dh said he had to carry a cup around all day and she drank a teaspoonful at a time, but we all got through it. I just couldn't bear to wean her. She is, I believe, our last baby, and I'm just not ready for her to grow up. She turned one on Monday. :sad1: :sad2:

Thanks for asking! :goodvibes

:rotfl:

I felt so silly doing that! They kept coaching us to yell longer and louder, and we did 2 or 3 takes I believe. We had to cheer for a LONG time!

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried both and still can't vote. Anyone else have any suggestions?
