A Fourth of Pixie Dust! A Fourth of Fun! A Fourth of Attitude! NEW! 4/6 pg. 26

I love Chelsea's costume! And that she came up with it all on her own!

Fun night at MK but it sounds like everyone needed a good night's sleep! My crew falls apart (mostly Tim) when we stay for fireworks. It's always very stressful trying to get out of the park. I try to plan it for a night that we can hit a few rides after the fireworks but it doesn't always work out that way... especially when they don't extend the hours past Wishes until the month before our trip.

We saw Christmas Wishes from a similar spot. I think we watched through the same tree. :headache:

I hope a good night's rest makes for a great 4th!

So glad you were able to get on the DIS and update us. Love your reports. Chelsea's so cute in her minnie costume...Loved it!!
You've definitely made me want to go to Tybee Island...even my BF is considering it next summer! :thumbsup2

Chelsea looks so cute as Minnie Mouse! Listen, eventually, it will all take root no matter how much she fights it. :rotfl:

Well of course you stopped and got Dole Whips. That's a great way to get through the aftermath of the ordeal you had just survived....

Ohhh, how sweet of Chelsea with Nolyn.

Chelsea looked great dressed up as Minnie! Glad you were able to see the fireworks and that the kids were happy the stayed. Looking forward to reading more.

So glad you are finally out of that boat and watching fireworks.

I was, too!

I am trying to stay caught up and get back to updating myself.

I have done pretty well this week with staying on top of the DIS.

I am so glad that the fireworks happened, even late always worth it. ::yes::

These fireworks were definitely worth waiting for -- absolutely beautiful!

Not one bit surprised about Charles.
So glad you and HD finally got to meet. Yep, I knew you two would get along famously.
From what I saw a bit later, Chelsea charmed both of the boys and perhaps my silly son as well!
What a girl!
:cutie:

Charles' early departures became standard, didn't they? LOL.

Chelsea is a charmer when she wants to be.

Good to see you posting again! Chelsea was too cute in her outfit.

I am happy to be posting again. I keep hoping things remain a bit calmer for awhile.

It's always fun to meet up with DIS families. When you get a bunch of DIS kids together, things can really get lively! :jumping1:

That's for sure!

Love Chelsea's outfit. Too cute!

Glad you had a great dismeet and got to see the fireworks. This was the first year we were not at WDW on the 4th and I really missed seeing them.

They were everything I hoped they would be!

Chelsea looks so cute as Minnie Mouse! :goodvibes

I'm so glad you were still able to see the fireworks! I have a boy that would have been saying the same things as your children about having to sit and wait for them to start. Yay for a DISmeet, too! That's always fun! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Over the years, I have gotten very good at tuning out my two when they start complaining. ;)

Between the costume and the Cinderella Cookies....she is definitely not keeping up her front!

No, she's not. LOL! Maybe she is over her anti-Disney stance.

And in that situation, best he left for all concerned I imagine! :rotfl:

Oh, yes, I have learned to not try and convince him to stay -- he needs his sleep. ::yes::

That is the BEST kind of meet! I'm sure I'd react the same way if I spotted either of you. :goodvibes

Oh, I know I would react the same way to spotting you. LOL!

Ok now that sounds entertaining!!

It became quite the running list.

I loved Chelsea's costume when I saw it on FB. She's such a pretty girl! Morghan is 13 and this is the first year I saw her be wishy washy about Disney. It makes me sad. :(

If Chelsea is any indication, they come back around.

I'm glad you had a Dole Whip and got to see Wishes. What a great ending to your night Jackie! :thumbsup2

It was -- I hoped that every night would end as wonderfully!

Chelsea's Minnie outfit is so cute. Danielle is dressing as Minnie for Halloween. She bought a Minnie skirt back in Feb.

Chelsea was so proud of herself for thinking that one up.

I'm not surprised Charles left. Dennis really likes Disney but left before the fireworks too. The girls and I enjoyed them just the same.

After the boat incident, I knew it was only a matter of time before Charles fled.

So glad you had a great meet and that Chelsea made a new friend.

They were hilarious together!

Good luck with school. The end is almost here.

Thanks! That's what I keep telling myself!

Hey Jackie...no need to apologize (at least to me) for missing almost all of October in posting. I am embarrasingly behind in reading all of the TRs I am supposed to be reading, including yours. I haven't been on the Trip Report boards in weeks, but tonite I got all caught up with yours! :)

Doesn't it make you smile when you get a chance to get on the DIS? It always puts me in a good mood.

Ugh! What a disaster on pirates. Which then made the perfect exit strategy for an impatient husband.:rotfl: Change the scenario a bit, and I have been there before myself.

I knew that the pirates incident would do Charles in...

More convinced now than ever that you really need to do a solo trip.;) I love my family trips, but oh...do I ever love my "solo" trips!:yay: Of course "solo" is somewhat of a misnomer as I am usually hanging out with dozens of the best type of like-minded Disney folks on these trips. You really do need to join us one of these years!!!:thumbsup2

I agree!!! I would love a solo trip with friends! Just have to figure out how to do it without inciting a mutiny with the rest of the family. LOL.

I love Chelsea's costume! And that she came up with it all on her own!

Chelsea was so cute as Minnie!

From here on out, I am sticking around in the park after fireworks. Trying to leave was a fiasco.

So glad you were able to get on the DIS and update us. Love your reports. Chelsea's so cute in her minnie costume...Loved it!!
You've definitely made me want to go to Tybee Island...even my BF is considering it next summer! :thumbsup2

Thank you!!! Tybee Island is wonderful! We are headed back there for Thanksgiving in just two and a half weeks. We are all super excited! It is just such a perfect little beach town.

Glad to see the new posts.

Hoping to update again this morning!

Chelsea looks so cute as Minnie Mouse! Listen, eventually, it will all take root no matter how much she fights it. :rotfl:

That's what I am thinking, too!

Well of course you stopped and got Dole Whips. That's a great way to get through the aftermath of the ordeal you had just survived....

::yes::

Ohhh, how sweet of Chelsea with Nolyn.

Chelsea adored Nolyn! You should have seen them on this trip together!

Chelsea looked great dressed up as Minnie! Glad you were able to see the fireworks and that the kids were happy the stayed. Looking forward to reading more.

Thank you! More coming up this morning!

After a good night's sleep with Connor in the Murphy bed, Chelsea in her own bed, and Charles and I not too cramped for space in our bed, we were ready to celebrate our nation's birthday!

The plan was to get to Epcot at Rope Drop. As we were getting ready, Anita texted me to tell us to let security know at the Beach Club that we were visiting them -- that way we could park at the Beach Club and enter through World Showcase. Sounded perfect to me -- I hate fighting traffic and was worried that it would be crazy parking in the main lots.

Chelsea and Connor had other ideas. They were beside themselves that I was going to tell security we were there to see Anita, Marc, and Baylor since we weren't visiting them first thing in the morning. Um, hello, we were going to meet up with them -- just not until later, and it would be in Epcot. I just didn't feel the need to go into all those details.

They were convinced I would get caught for breaking another Disney rule.

The friendly security man at Beach Club couldn't have cared less -- waved me right on through.

We hadn't been quite as motivated as I wanted to be, but we made it to the World Showcase entrance just a few minutes past nine. As one of the Cast Members said, "You just missed about a hundred of your friends." Nah, one set of my friends was eating breakfast at Cape May, and the other set hadn't made it to the park yet.

I was insanely thrilled to be given little American flag pins by the Cast Members. Happy Fourth of July indeed!!! Even Charles was a little excited and pinned his to his shirt immediately.

Where did we head first? The Land, of course! We grabbed Fast Passes to Soarin' and since the return time was not too far in the future, Charles suggested we get something to eat and just wait. We gorged ourselves on breakfast platters and iced coffee from Sunshine Seasons -- Chelsea and I split a platter, but the boys insisted on their own and ate every last bite.

Ride on Soarin'. Check.

Then, some Fourth of July pictures. Now, when I was planning the trip I made sure we all had Fourth of July appropriate clothing -- flag shirts for Charles and Connor -- red shirts for Chelsea and me.

Chelsea refused to wear the shirt she had and chose her own color scheme despite me asking her to do otherwise. No color-coordinated pictures for this family.

I growl a little every time I see this picture.

Onward to The Sum of All Thrills where we built roller coasters, had a quick meet-up with Happydog and her boys, and decided it was time for a little Mission: Space.

And a mandate from Charles.

Charles: You are riding Mission: Space.
Me: Um, no.
Charles: No, you are. You are riding everything on this trip. No more opting out. Everything.
Me: I will ride everything else, but I will not ride Mission: Space. I don't want to spin.
Charles: You're riding it.
Connor: I will ride the non-spinning version with Mom, and you and Chelsea can ride the spinning version.

That was an agreeable compromise for Charles.

So, now I can say that I have ridden Mission: Space. It was neat, but I really don't have any desire to ride the more intense version.

At this point, it was time to head for World Showcase. We had friends to meet and a Perry the Platypus mission to complete. In France, we met up with Happydog and her boys, and Anita, Marc, Baylor, Megan, and Harper. Lots of laughter and I believe perhaps there was a Grey Goose slushie. I have no pictures -- I must have been wilting from the heat by this time. Connor and Nolyn went off to do their Perry mission while we visited.

Soon, everyone went their separate ways for lunch, and my gang meandered towards America where the end of one of the concerts was taking place.

It was getting really hot, and certain people were getting cranky.

Connor: Do you hear something?
Me: Like what?
Connor: A sizzling sound. Maybe it's bacon...Oh, nope, that's my skin sizzling and burning.

Meanwhile, Chelsea had been on the hunt for sparkly Minnie ears since we set foot in Epcot that morning. We had checked Mousegears after Mission: Space. None. We had checked that store at the beginning of World Showcase. None. We had checked the International Gateway shop. None. She wanted to go to the resort gift shop or DtD to look for them.

Okay, I got the hint. Connor was hot, Chelsea was not going to be happy until we found her sparkly Minnie ears, and it was probably time for a mid-day break.

Back to Port Orleans we went, and just as we reached our room, the skies opened up and rain just began pouring down.

Your kids concern for Disney rules cracks me up!
The breakfast platters at Sunshine Seasons are so good, but HUGE!
I'm with you on Mission: Space. I've done it, but am not in a rush to repeat.
I love your coordinating 4th of July colors. I guess teenage girls just have to be different.

Are you planning your next Disney adventure?

Hehe, love their concern over breaking the Disney rules. Bending them really!
Chelsea's shirt colour choice isn't too bad, with everyone else in some red and blue, she just completes the primary colours. :)
Sounds like good timing for your mid-day break!

All caught up again.

The fireworks day sounds like fun and a little testing. :lmao:

Glad you stayed and got to see it.

That is funny about them with the Disney rules. Unfortunately I have a big kid like that but makes it more fun.

Glad you got in before the rain.

Hope she finds her ears.

Connor and Chelsea would have a serious outbreak of hives if there hung around me too much.
It's not that I don't respect Disney rules, but when it comes to parking all bets are off and I'll do or say about anything for admittance to a preferred parking lot....:rotfl2:

Connor: Do you hear something?
Me: Like what?
Connor: A sizzling sound. Maybe it's bacon...Oh, nope, that's my skin sizzling and burning.

:rotfl2: Oh my Jackie, can I please borrow Connor some time? Please? I love his sense of humor ...

Emily probably would not have gone color coordinated at Chelsea's age either...:confused3 She's been a pretty easy going teenager... but at 14-15-everything is embarrassing then-they're really self conscious...

but then around 17-18... I think they feel they don't have anymore to prove or something because Em would do it again now-for me-she'd still think it was corny though ... (I just bought us matching pink and white power outage pjs to wear over my in laws... and she wore them...and thought it was cute...)

Hurray for Dismeets and Grey Goose Slushies...:cool1:

Yeah on the pins and yeah on those costumes on Mickey, Goofy and Donald... I love those...:thumbsup2

Hmmm... aren't some of those Disney rules more like- suggestions...? ;)

Glad to hear you survived Mission Space...:)

Where do they get this from. I am :rotfl2: at it. Mine would be all over pushing the rules.

Oh I feel your pain! Vividly. But YOUR shirt is adorable.

And a mandate from Charles.

Oh how funny is this! WTG Charles. Too funny.

It was getting really hot, and certain people were getting cranky.

Connor: Do you hear something?
Me: Like what?
Connor: A sizzling sound. Maybe it's bacon...Oh, nope, that's my skin sizzling and burning.

I want a book of Connorisms.

You beat the rain....hope that it doesn't last long and impact any of the break plans! Ah Chelsea...won't wear the shirt but wants sparkly ears.

Breaking the Disney rules and getting busted for it by the kiddos? That's too funny. No one is ever the wiser. No need to worry that you won't be meeting them until later. Where exactly you'll be meeting up is a non-issue. :rotfl:

Chelsea acting like a typical teenager going against the grain. Haha.

Hahahaha, my skin sizzling and burning. I feel like that's going to be my reaction when we go next year on the 4th. :rotfl2:

Saw the update on your FB page. I didn't know you were doing a new TR. Bookmarking it now.

Chelsea's Minnie costume was so cute!!!

Hahaha you were breaking the Disney rules left and right!!! Hopefully Connor stopped cooking and Chelsea found her ears soon!!

Happy to read an update!
I am not on Dis much lately and my TR is suffering as well. Why is it when we are planning there is all the time in the world... and then there is not!

While you were getting in from the rain just in time, I was packing! we left the next day.

We can pretend that her yellow is the mighty sun that shines over the red, white, and blue....right? :upsidedow

Back to Port Orleans we went, and just as we reached our room, the skies opened up and rain just began pouring down.

After our rainy, rainy, rainy start to the trip, I think this was the only other day it rained during the 13 days Brooklynn and I were there, and it didn't last long, as I recall.
