A Fourth of Pixie Dust! A Fourth of Fun! A Fourth of Attitude! NEW! 4/6 pg. 26

Call me strange but I think it would be neat to get stuck on there. I would want nice people with me though. :rotfl2:

I hate rude people.

Ohhhhh man! Stuck on pirates for 45 minutes? Wow that would really suck! I'd be with Charles -- ready to do something drastic!
Glad you didn't miss the fireworks (well, yet!)
And I bet lots of people on the sidewalk to get out were glad that you said something to the rude woman, even if it didn't make much difference. I bet she felt pretty silly when she got out to find the fireworks had been postponed!

accckk! about Pirates... my claustrophobia would have kicked in by the second round of yo ho ho's. I would have been adding a shot of Captain Morgan to your Dole Whip Float after that ride!!

I finally have the time to get all caught up, so don't mind if this response is really long. :lmao:

:rotfl2: "I puke a little in my mouth when I think about it." That's hysterical.

Charles sounds like my Dad. "That's plenty fast enough". That's what he always said when we gave him a hard time for driving like Miss Daisy.

Listen, when you gotta go, you gotta go, dang the law!

The murphy bed does come in handy with the sleeping situation. Although I would have also been a bit bummed if I didn't get a mansion room.

Very pretty pictures. We only stayed one time and it was in the mansion part, so I've never seen the bayou portion. It's very pretty.

Very fascinating that Louis the lizard.

It's always okay to walk down Main Street with tears running down your face, no matter the reason. :flower3:

Gah, lost corn dog nuggets! Poor thing. I would have been devastated. :guilty:

Um, weird cap thief's!

Chelsea really was the spitting image of Forsythia! That's hilarious. Teenagers always do things accidentally, don't they?

OMG, no wonder your Pirate's experience left you with PTSD. Clearly, the teenager was succeeding on the loud front. Why is it that they think they're so funny? They're not. They should just realize it now before it's too late. :rotfl:

"Is that us? How do we know the evac exit?" I wish it was that easy. I wish.

Look at you with the crazy lady! Take that crazy fireworks lady! We all have places to be.

Oh my gosh, CMs in Waders? Dudes trying to impressing girls and people threating to jump ship? Wow, now that's not something they show on the Disney Vacation Videos...;)

I'm totally with you on the rude behavior. Doesn't it kill you that these people think that the rules, and waiting and lines aren't for them...only for others...:confused3 It's so annoying and if every one did that just imagine how unpleasant the whole experience would be...those people should be forced to experience an alternative reality dream in which everyone did behave like that...and see how they liked it... I think the Imagineers need to get right to work on it...:scratchin

Hope you make it to the fireworks...;)

Okay, I definitely think your Charles and my Charles are practically the same person...my Charles also gets impatient and then anxious in certain situations. He gets particularly anxious when he's in a situation he can't control, so your situation would definitely be one that really set him off!

I would be freaking out about the fireworks, too. We had a situation on our 2008 trip, when we repeatedly got stuck on Splash Mountain and it was almost time for the fireworks at the Pirate and Princess Party...we did eventually get moving each time, but it was a very stressful ride! So I really, really can't imagine being stuck on Pirates for that long (especially with the company on your boat). :rolleyes2

Catching up on my dising after the summer!

Your trip sound wonderful so far! Your pirates story is unreal though! CRAZY! I can't even believe that lady did that! Duh lady! I didn't occur to her that everyone wanted to see the fireworks!? Ridiculous! I'm so glad that the postponement worked out for you and that you got a dole whip to help you cool down ;)

I am enjoying reading your trip report so far. I am mostly a lurker, but had to chime in and commiserate with you as a fellow member of the Pirate's of the Caribbean evacuation club! My experience happened on my trip in May. I already have some childhood trauma from the ride, as I used to hate the room with the exploding cannons. We were stopped at the top of the first hill, and I still don't like to think about the fact that if we had been one boat sooner we would have been stopped in that room! Instead, we got to hear the wind whipping and the skeleton steering the boat saying, "dead men tell no tales" over and over again. Every time that the power was shut down, we would drift backwards and they would reboot and it would feel like we were going down the hill, but knock into the barrier holding us back. Pretty unnerving!! You can see my view after the lights finally came on in the picture below! Our experience only lasted about 15 minutes, and a CM told us our issue was electrical and could not safely be fixed without an evacuation. It sounds like your ride had a similar problem. We didn't get to see much backstage stuff because of our location, but our rescue did involve waders and a rope! There was a boy behind us who was probably around 10 years old that was pretty freaked out and began to cry before the e-vac. I felt bad for him. His sister was making fun of him, but when she realized he was really scared she was much nicer. I did make myself go back on the ride before we left, and am happy to say that we made it through just fine (even though I was pretty nervous the whole time)!

Your story reminds me of a similar one that happened during my second trip to Disneyland in 2009. I was on a boat with a group of people from another Disney form (the DPN or Disney podcast network). The CM didn't really pay much attention to how our boat got loaded and it end up being slightly on the heavy side in some places. Anyway we got stuck at the top of the first drop. At first they had us try and rock the boat to get it to move, eventually they had to send a CM to push us over the drop. We almost got stuck on the second but manged to make our way down it. The entire time we were on it we didn't see a single boat ahead of us. If anyone wants to hear audio of this check out the Mouse dropping podcast episode titled "the pirate shuffle".

Poor Connor, I hope he gets more corn dogs!

Woo hoo for you!! You go girl!! I hate it when people feel they are entitled to do what ever they please at the expense of others! I'm glad you blocked her path and called her out! Hopefully it made her think about her actions later!

Lol, I loved the 'My Mom is so not cool look", I still get that once in a great while and my daughter is 28. :lmao: Your daughter will look back on that picture in her twenties and wonder why she got her panties in an uproar!

As for hat Mom, I hope her kidlets didn't get lice. ;)

 the entire time I was reading your update! I would have been like you, Jackie-I would have to have spoken my mind to that lady as well!

Glad the fireworks were delayed so that your plans were (hopefully) going to work out!

Wow, what an evacuation!!! That had to be interesting even though it was frustrating.

:thumbsup2Way to go!!! Glad you stood up to that lady! I bet your children were about to die. :rotfl2:

just read through your report and love it! Especially love how your friend's word would kick that other lady's friend's word's butt! make sense? does to me...

I have a 14 yr old - attitude x3 is pretty much right. I've often said with her I can see how mothers in the wild eat their young... either way can't wait for more!

Subbed. You're a good writer! I encountered a few people like the shoving lady the last time were there and I reacted the same way (and I usually hate confrontation too). Oh, and the red cap story? That's SO not the Disney way. Those people should be asked to leave and never come back!

I have to tell you that I now have my own evac story! We were in the Magic Kingdom last week on Splash Mountain near the final drop. Our log stopped & we sat for 20 minutes or so. Had to get out of logs & walk out!

Oh.my.gosh! I just read your last update about your adventure on Pirates, I tried not to laugh, really I did, but I just couldn't help myself! I really am sorry you had to go through all that, but it sure made for a good story.

Keeping my fingers crossed that you find HD and get to see the fireworks!

Hey Jackie, :wave2:

I can see that you are on the boards this morning...;)

Which leads me to the question...:rolleyes1

Are you going to leave us all hanging in the Pirates... pirate:

or are you going to let us know what happened...:confused3

Inquiring minds want to know...;)

:surfweb:

:flower3:

Hi, everyone!!! Send pixie dust my way to get caught up on replies this weekend and maybe, just maybe, if there is lots of pixie dust, I can even write an update! I am dying to do so!!!

:flower3:

Patricia, I was JUST posting on your PTR!!! :lmao: I knew we were kindred spirits! :rotfl:

I am definitely hoping to update this weekend. I was just plotting it out in my mind.

Oh I bet! UGH. Post pirates stress disorder...one wonders if you were able to go back on it this trip. I still haven't been on Splash since we got stuck there. The laughing place my patootie.

For the record, we did not. However, I can now listen to the music without breaking into a sweat. LOL.

I would have been a stressed out wreck! :scared1:

I was. I really didn't want to miss the fireworks.

YAY for postponement. WHEW!

It was quite a relief to learn that.

Especially adult, grown woman, rudeness!

Exactly!

Dole Whips make everything better. Or so I'm told! :rotfl: I really hope you get your fireworks and find Happydog and crew!

Hopefully, I will be able to reveal that this weekend.

I have been stuck on Pirates twice.

Once, we had to be evac'ed, similar to your situation. Except we were stuck right before the drop. And had to exit over rather slippery rock, clinging for dear life to the CMs helping us.

That would NOT be fun!

The other I was stuck right in front of Captain Jack, in the throne room (this is not a game of Clue :lmao:) and was there long enough to hear his whole audio track loop. That was AWESOME. He says some really funny stuff to the parrot I'd never even heard before.

That, I would not have minded. LOL.

I am thinking your experience was worse, and big :grouphug: are in order.

And rudeness brings it out in me too.

I hope you got to see fireworks. And that Dole Whips softened the blow. :thumbsup2

I could feel my sanity returning with the consumption of that Dole Whip.

Wow! What a nightmare! Note to self... do not try to take a quick ride on Pirates if you have/want to be somewhere in a timely manner. :headache:

Seems like Pirates breaks down a lot! That George is one bad ghost!

I thought of George at the time, too!

Glad the fireworks were postponed... I really hope you caught up with Happy Dog & got to see them.

The weather turned out to be a blessing in disguise!

I can't believe that rude lady! :sad2: But I am chuckling at the thought of you jumping in front of her & telling her what you thought!

Could you sense that I had had enough? ;)

Fortunately we've never gotten stuck on Pirates. We have gotten stuck on other rides. LOL! Your experience was way worse than any of mine.

It was the worst experience of being stuck on a ride for me in all my years of Disney trips.

I'm the same way with rude people. When I see someone acting rude I usually speak first and think later. It just sorta pops our of my mouth!! LOL!! I really embarrass my husband and son sometimes. It's like the filter on my mouth just disappears when I see people acting rude. My 15 year old son is more polite than some people.

Great update!!

I usually just seethe silently, but not that time.

Oh boy, being stuck on Pirates sounds pretty awful. Especially with that guy attempting to impress his friend, and others in your boat about to jump ship for the call for pirates! :headache:

Ugh about rude people. Clearly, yes, she was the ONLY person in the park that wanted to see Wishes.

Hopefully you made it to fireworks! At least you did get to a Dole Whip!!

It was an experience none of us will ever forget.

:faint: 45 minutes of yo-ho-ing! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Charles threatening to do something drastic. :rotfl2: Oh Brother! And CM's in thigh high boots coming to rescue you. And the rude lady. Oy Vey!

My vote is you find Happy Dog and the fireworks. Great update!

Mary Ellen, I just sat there thinking, "Is this really happening to me???" LOL.

Oh no!! Getting stuck on a ride is the absolute worst! Especially with a crew of teenagers trying to be cool. :scared1: I hope you were able to make it to the fireworks! I hope the rude lady had to wait forever for a bus or a tram afterwords! (is that mean? :rolleyes1) The anytime fastpasses are a nice way of the CMs to make up for the inconvenience! :thumbsup2

Those anytime FPs came in handy on a subsequent day!

I know when I got stuck on Splash Mountain last fall it was a nightmare! :headache: "Brer Fox and Brer Bear are causing a commotion downstream" is burned into my eardrums for the rest of my life - and yes, it gets really eerie sitting in silence with just the emergency lights on! I can understand how you aren't racing to go back on PoTC. I hope it didn't spoil the rest of your evening!

Most of us were able to pull ourselves together.

As for Happydog, she had her own 'stuck' epsiode during the trip. ;) I am glad ours was on Splash as opposed to Pirates. I'm really not a Pirates fan, to be honest. I ride it because everyone else wants to. I do enjoy it more when our little boy cousins are with us, because they really get into it. :goodvibes

So glad no one tried to jump out of the boat and wade through the water. That could have gotten crazy.

Can you imagine THAT scene of craziness if people started trying to jump off? My husband included. It boggles the mind!

I had to give mine and Brooklynn's up, since that was our last night. :sad1: I hope the Wigd clan made good use of them during their last days.

I am sure they did!

Oh Jeez! I think I would have gone a little nuts with the yo-ho-ing!!
I would have said something similar to the rude lady - as if she were the only one who wanted to see fireworks? Man...people are stupid.

I sure hope it worked out that you found happydog and they eventually ran the fireworks!!

All will be revealed soon! :goodvibes

But at least she stood there. Mine would have bolted at photographic evidence of the mood. :lmao:

Chelsea does know when she shouldn't push me too much. Lol.

I would have had the Pirate stress disorder too !!!!. Even though I remember the fireworks being delayed, I was still anxious about you in the Pirate lair.

Silent Pirates would have been SO creepy.

Silent Pirates is very creepy, and I am such a worrier that I always think things like, "What if they forget about us?" LOL.
