A few races and food, some theme parks and food, and a cruise...

Molly, for our trip in January I have planned nothing but the hotel and the rental car. I will probably be more into the planning once we get settled at home. Hopefully. :rotfl:

:) You have SO many more things going on in your life right now that I'm sure just knowing the trip is out there, waiting, is enough.

OK, off to the Y! My obsessive posting, reading, answering, thinking, and packing must end for a couple hours.

Have fun!!

Interesting note. Time is frozen in my ticker again.

Super-fun, got my new camera today, got E's camelbak, and got a little scale that can fit in a purse. You know you're serious about your food intake when you get a scale like that. It's adorable, and was only $10. Wish I'd read about it a year ago!

The second Old Navy order has shipped, so it's all making its way to me now. Turns out shoebuy drop-ships their Crocs from Crocs, and I have two orders. One order has 3 shoes (couldn't figure out what size I needed in the Athens). And all are shipping separately. Kinda silly.

Gathering all my printouts together, putting them in order. I have my magicband snapped to my main camera (the old one that I'm still bringing) and I have the guys' magicbands in the box with their APs, etc etc in it. Getting things in order!

I'm so excited for your trip! I love reading your trip reports so I am really looking forward to this. I realized yesterday that we are close to double digits. :cool1: Poor Loren thought I was nuts when I mentioned it.:rotfl: He had no clue what I meant but Kody who avidly reads Disboards was aghast because he didn't know.:rotfl2:

Aw, thanks!

It's that stuck ticker...it's keeping your family from knowing when your trip is! Perhaps Kody should make a countdown calendar. :) Or you can go old-school with a countdown chain.

Yeah, I can't see Kody doing anything that crafty. :rotfl:

Just noticed that your Cinderella mouse looks like he's thinking about kicking your Smilie Bunny. I might be tired. :)

Found out that my 10K time should allow me to move up at least a couple corrals at the race in less than 2 weeks, so that's nice. I want to head out as far away from the "sweepers" as I can!

Talked with my aunt, and we're all meeting up one day during this trip. And then in January she'll be able to stay with me and E during at least part of our race-time over Marathon weekend, which is especially important for the Half b/c I have to leave at 3:30 am or something like that. And she might bring her grandson with her, which will be extra-awesome for E.

Our only issue for that time is that I barely had any DVC points left so we have to move that morning after I'm done with the Half. :headache: Silly me. So I'm trying to figure out where to move. I keep TRYING to tell myself that it can all be done after we're back, that I don't have to do everything all at once, but that part of my brain isn't listening. It's setting my old camera to its factory defaults, getting my new waterproof camera figured out, packing myself, thinking of what E will be packing, training, being happy for Robert that he's started truly working out again, thinking about E's dancing and education, AND working out the October trip more and more all while also working out where and how to move on January 11th.

:rolleyes1

Too funny! I never noticed that!

I am glad to hear that your aunt is going to stay with you. I know you have a good time together. Sounds like you will be at WDW at least part of the time we are at DLR.

I hope the moving after the half works out well. I was too nervous... course, I would be me packing up everyone to move and after a half marathon... I am not sure I would have it in me.

I too was having ticker trouble, btw. I kept redoing mine... cause I like to see that count :goodvibes

I keep changing mine. I have never had trouble like this before. It helps with my excitement. As if I am not already excited.:rolleyes2

I both lost my mind while booking for over the marathon weekend AND felt I had only a few options. We had *minimal* DVC points left, so few that I had to buy some one-time use points. The problem with that is you can buy up to 24 (25?), but you can only do it ONCE per year. I bought something like 7...but later realized I should have bought more, enough to cover at least another night. Since I'd already done it *once* I couldn't add on. That's one of those little things that get ya, just when you think you've totally understood the ins and outs of DVC.

Since E&I are doing the 5K on the 9th, I wanted to be in our room on the 8th. Then he does the 1 mile on the 10th, and I do the half on the 11th. For whatever reason, being there on the 8th was more important than staying there on the 11th. I wasn't really thinking things through, and then we're back to the low options thing. I already was stuck with a studio at SSR (instead of OKW as I wanted). blah blah blah

I figure on the 10th I'll get the kiddo and I almost entirely packed, stash stuff with Bell Services, and have minimal stuff to move on the 11th. If I'm delayed, that makes it relatively simple for them to help get stuff out of the room. Bah. Not happy but there you are. Not un-happy enough to get the room through disney for $400/night, either LOL.

I was trying to convince Robert to rent points if an SSR studio pops back up on DVC (one popped up the other day) but at the last minute he wasn't comfy renting. Harumph. Big time harumph.

So right now I bet that the Wyndham Bonnet Creek is the likeliest place (space, kitchen, can rent through hotels.com where we have credits). I was coming up with a scenario in which we go to Epcot and I sit on a bench while my minions bring me school bread, but if it's warm we can go use the pools at SSR. Or hang out at the Community Center at SSR. Or something. Or go to Sweet Tomatoes while I devastate the pasta bar. :)

I can't see that that is the worst plan in the world. I actually think that may work out just fine. Especially since you only have 3 of you to move. You will be back from the half before check out...right?

I certainly hope I will! :faint:

Looks like the kid and I will be heading over to Daytona to see family after the 12th of January, so that will be fun. We would just leave on the 11th, but we want to hit the afterparty at DTD. :)

Ann, I forget where you're staying for TOT and even the marathon? I remember you were in the process of buying DVC, I think?

Aw, Michele, we'll be having Disney Parks fun at the same time! :) We should coordinate a Pirates ride at the same time or something. :goodvibes

ETA: just googled and searched a bit on the Dis and it *seems* that SSR's gym has showers, so if for some reason I'm screeching back to the resort with no time to shower and change, I should be able to head there (b/c you get to use the amenities of the resort even on checkout day, I remind myself) to do those things. Whew. Load off my mind.

Then I can get the minions to do things for me. Bwa ha ha.... (auntie might be bringing the boy-cousin so I'll have the boys to help me, LOL)

I certainly hope I will! :faint:

:goodvibes I didn't mean it like I think it came out.. I mean... you are not sticking around or going to a breakfast or something. You are coming back to the room right after the race. Of course you won't be running the half for 5 to 6 hours ;) (or however long that would be from start of the race to room check out)

Looks like the kid and I will be heading over to Daytona to see family after the 12th of January, so that will be fun. We would just leave on the 11th, but we want to hit the after party at DTD. :)

I have yet to figure out all that the after party entails. With the ToT is is clear. With EE... with W&D... all clear. There was not one for phm... but for the marathon weekend, the dtd after party sounds interesting. We will have to compare notes after we get back in January.
Ann, I forget where you're staying for TOT and even the marathon? I remember you were in the process of buying DVC, I think?

For the ToT, I am staying at CBR for one night by myself and then 7 nights with two other ladies. Then I am doing my first DVC stay for just one night at AKL in a savannah view room. :cool1: Kinda excited about that.

For the marathon, to be honest I am not sure if it will stay with what I have booked. Currently, it is 3 nights in AoA in a LM room. Then we are switching over to a 1br at OKW for 6 nights. After seeing your plan though, I could see where maybe I could change things a bit to check in on the 11th somewhere. It is a thought I am now tossing around. Of course, all of it is dependent on availability of course. When I first booked, there was barely anything available that week.

So.. yes.. we started and got through the DVC process. We are owners at OKW. :goodvibes

See, you point out even more how things could work out just fine to switch on race day. Makes me wonder. However, I am going to have to give it more consideration after I get back from the ToT race. Can't believe I leave in just a few days!!!

:) I think more in terms of injuring myself, ick ick ick to even put it into words! The kiddo and I are doing the breakfast after the 5K, which should be amusing, but I'm not doing that for the Half. I know the boy will be starving, because he, well, always is. :)

Yeah, it does sound kind of odd, but...if it's a choice between going and knowing or not going, I'll go for going. Wow what a weird little sentence that was. As the kiddo's dance company stuff gets more scheduley, our long long random vacations will have to come to an end, so this pre-planned thing will be something of a last hurrah. Waaaaah.

Weirdly I just saw that SSR pop up, and ONE night at OKW popped up the other day. That was after ages of nothing nothing nothing. Just keep checking, if you're interested. If it's sunny in January, come laze around the SSR pool with me. Call it hydrotherapy.

SO cool. I wish we'd had the ability to wait and buy OKW either through disney or resale. We got greedy and silly, and believed our guide (who was otherwise fabulous though he has since left the company) that AKV and BLT were the only options. Greedy and impatient, we were! We've never stayed at BLT and we own there. Silly.

I can't believe how soon it is either! Ack!

I also think it's funny that I'm so incredibly concerned about hydration and getting food in quickly after the run (b/c if I wait more than 20 minutes my stomach feels so crampy I can't force myself to eat), etc etc, for TOT, but I'm not even giving it a moment's thought for January! And we're running longer for that! AND I'll be alone getting back to the room, as it stands now. Maybe it will become more real after October.

I've been reading through the Advanced user's guide for my new camera. It can do that miniature effect, like they use in the opening credits for Sherlock. Part of me wonders if I'll have it on that setting the whole trip. Mini-Disney! :)

Boys are ALWAYS hungry!! :rotfl2:

As soon as I get back from this trip... I will start to really plan the january trip... and that will involve some watching of the dvc openings. We really should plan some sort of dismeet while there....

I can't believe how soon it is either! Ack!

Less than 34 hours now till I leave for the airport. :cool1:

They all but make you eat and drink before leaving the finish area. It is almost a burden how much they throw at you....water and gatoraide bottles, banana and the RD food box. You should be able to get something in your quick enough.

But... I know what you mean about not thinking too much about January. I feel kinda like I have to get through this trip/race before I can move on to January... So I do think it will become more real after October.

Ann I just read the last page of your PTR for October, LOVE your running outfit! Hope the socks work for you because that would just be adorable.

They work!!! I ran in them and the headband today. (well, the entire outfit..but it was those two items in question) I also test ran having the camera in my shirt pocket. not as ideal as the others. It fits... and is easily accessible...but does drag the shirt down a tad. When I was first out..it was more problematic but by even a half mile I had forgot about it. However, unlike the socks and headband that were not at all noticeable...the camera in the shirt was if I thought about it at all.

I'm so glad you wore more than the socks and headband. ;)

I'm still in flux about my outfit.

I've run a long sweaty distance in my shorts without problems, but will I be happy with my photos with that much leg showing?

If I wear my SkirtSport skort (IMO not really a proper skort by the '90s definition but whatever), I can put some beans in my pockets but nothing more b/c it gets too heavy.

Oh drat, the camera. I can fit my new camera in my waistpack, IF I put my fuel in my skort pockets, but not camera AND phone. But why would I need a phone? Oh yeah, to contact the hubster if something odd happens or if I can't find them.

Gah! I have the iphone 4 so while it takes good pictures, I can't zoom. And we all know how important zoom will be while running 10 miles. :rotfl2::3dglasses

Man, what silly things to be concerning myself with.

Found out Robert has to travel again. Right before the trip. Leaves tomorrow night. Gets home Wednesday. Yay, though, he's taking Thursday off. Which makes me want to change our tickets to leave on Thursday, LOL, but I'll need that day to make sure all of his clothes are clean! (yes yes he could do it, but the division of labor in the house is that I clean and dry, he folds...I make many of the meals, he almost always washes the dishes and puts them away while home, etc...)

Looks like I'll be packing the kidlet up, though, which I thought was being put on Robert's shoulders. Oh well!

Oh and I'm also trying to figure out how much of my hair to cut off.
