A few races and food, some theme parks and food, and a cruise...

I am so glad you managed to get one. I know there were not many left when I was there. It is even possible you were there not long after I was.

Hope you had a good race.... it was a tough one for me. I think food and wine the week before was perhaps not the wisest of choices.... :rotfl2:

It was tough for me, even without the days of F&W. :) I was just so glad to finish. And I discovered that even chocolate almond-milk will perk you up. (but I might go with chocolate cow's milk next time...tastes better)

That is something I never thought of as a recovery drink. I love almond milk... chocolate almond milk might just be perfect!

I hear ya on being glad to finish. I started out trying to stop for some pictures... managed to drop my camera and had to chase it around as it bounced over the road way. I got over heated in the first few miles and had to try and cool off by dumping at least a couple cups of water over myself at each stop. Then came the trail that was just a bit hard for me to keep pace on. Once out of the WWOS center, I saw so many characters with no line and thought briefly of stopping. I looked at everyone just running by them at that point and we all had the look of "oh god no... just let this be over" I don't think I regret it. I think had I stopped and prolonged my finish... I would have been miserable. I managed to finish strong and didn't feel as though I was dying at the end.

I chose to walk through the trail. I didn't want to hurt myself, and the reports on the TOT thread about *having to walk* causing people mental anguish really got to me. I chose to walk as far over to the right as I could without going offroad, to keep out of peoples' way, but would you believe a few people chose to run past on the right, by sort of leaping past me? It was the rudest thing I have encountered while running. And ridiculous as well. Once the trail ended I was tempted to keep on walking but I forced myself to start running and then go back to my 2:1 ratio again.

Did you come across the woman with the external speaker clipped to her, sharing her music with the masses? Gosh that wasn't annoying at all. :headache::rolleyes1 Might have worked for me if it hadn't been what I believe was Beiber. :headache:

I had intended to get cow's milk with chocolate, but everything went really fast once we got to Orlando and it didn't happen. Although I think cow's milk is a bit better for me recovery-wise, the almond milk didn't do anything frightening in my stomach, which was good. :)

I was lucky that it wasn't too congested when I went through. I think most were attempting to run, but the pace was much slower. I can't imagine why people would try and pass on the right... that seems almost dangerous.

I know that it is said that you can't use headphones... but every does. I wonder if she was trying to follow the rules? I didnt encounter her. In fact most of the race I doubt I was close enough to anyone to hear their music. (the first few corrals were far less congested than later ones)

Oh man you are so lucky you actually did start in the early corrals. I swear I will never get caught in the portapotty madness again!

I have read that some got stuck waiting in line. I am not sure if it was my timing... but I literally sat near them ... waiting outside my corral and when I chose to go... I maybe waited a few minutes. I was lucky that is for sure!

Yep. I wasted too much time waiting near the bus to see if my guys would show up (didn't take my phone...bad decision) then sort of had to "go", finally got in line, and just didn't know what would happen.

At the Expo I got my J turned into E corral, but because of my decision to wait, then my decision to stay in "my" line and see it through, and my ignorance of the way the race started, I got to start (joy oh joy!) with H! AWESOME!

As I type I'm getting pictures onto my computer. I then have to deal with photobucket, which will be difficult since I'm at like 70% storage. What to do what to do...

That's my (old) vinylmation figure, with my TOT vinylmation medal that I got at the Expo. :)

So here I get to talk about January.

When to go and where to stay is about to make me lose my marbles. Too few DVC points, too few free hotel nights, too much time between the Marathon weekend and the RCCL cruise!

I tell you, if it weren't January, I would DRIVE me and the kidlet out there. I think that would be a ton of fun. I drove the opposite way in late December a million years ago, but the hubster doesn't much like that idea. Funny how the story that he loved so much when we first met doesn't sound as awesome to him anymore....

Oh my! that would be quite the drive! I hear you on where to stay and such. I finally settled on mine. I went back and forth.... but now everything (including airfare) is booked.

My big huge error is that I booked SSR for the 8th through 11th, which I believe I've talked about before. Even though I talked myself through that, when trying to explain to my aunt what would happen, she got all stressy so now I'm back to stress-ville again. AND I realized I booked a studio, for me, Eamon, aunt, and probably boy-cousin, and we haven't all slept in the same room before so that's fairly silly of me.

But I have no points for January, no possibility of points to pull into January, already did the purchase of one-time points so I can't add to my points that way, AND Robert is now all nervous about the concept of renting a reservation from someone so that's out as well. :faint:

And in the vein of confession being good for the soul, right now I'm dealing with months of falling behind on helping MIL with her paperwork. Since I've fallen behind, it's putting me in the same category of my BIL's ex who didn't help her while saying he would help her. And I will tell you, I don't want to be in that category. Of course, one only ever confesses when one has already started to do something about it, right? It's all easy once you've started the process. :headache:

But now it's like I have to start over, because this is about rebilling with further documentation, and I can't remember the first step I'm supposed to take.

I can certainly see why you are in stress-ville. Hopefully things will come together room wise for you as well as in helping out your mil!

The awesome news is that the work I did previously got rid of a 1K+ ambulance bill.

And I got the fax number for her supplemental insurance company so I can send a bunch of documentation about one of her stays. When the bill was being transmitted from Medicare to supplemental, it came through entirely blank. Instead of the insurance people thinking "wow, that's weird", they said "OH, Medicare didn't pay so we won't either".

The reality is that Medicare paid thousands on it. What they did not pay was her hospitalization deductible, and that's what supplemental is supposed to pay. Complicating matters was it being from an out of network hospital. But it was an emergency situation, where the in-network hospital transferred her elsewhere. And they sent her to an out of network hospital, because no one has time to check these things when it's an emergency.

Basically, it should be covered. It was just weird because the thing transmitted from Medicare was showing zeroes everywhere, instead of showing that they HAD paid over 7K, leaving the telltale amount of 1156, which is exactly the hospitalization deductible for 2012.

And it took nearly a YEAR for people to figure that out. A year, people. :faint:

That sounds very complicated! Yay for getting rid of the ambulance bill!!!

Still working on when to arrive in January. Fielded the concept of forcing DS and me into eastern timezone while still at home. :scared:

I think it all hinges on when DH gets his Alaska miles from his recent and upcoming flights, what their flights and United's look like, and all of that mumbojumbo.

I swear that future trips won't be complicated. But it seems like every time I say that the universe laughs really hard at me and makes it worse.

But this time, as long as it's just complicated for me and the kiddo, that's fine. I want to lower the complications for once my aunt is there and when Robert gets there. And that's what I took a step towards today.

Restrictions in availability and how few points we have (which until an hour ago were all inside of one reservation) play the main factor here.

Instead of 8th-11th at SSR studio, with auntie coming in on the 10th and us all having to move on the 11th, E and I will be in a Boardwalk studio on the 7th, and on the 8th change to SSR. Check out of there on the 10th, BEFORE my aunt gets there. Just disappear that stress to her entirely.

Will probably use a free night through our fave hotel booking site to do a family suite somewhere (non-DVC) and stay there until we are done with Marathon Weekend and head east to visit family.

I would put this emoticon...:beach:...except it'll be January so I'm not sure if we'll want to hit the beach.

So, yep...

get to town, stay somewhere for upwards of 3 nights.
move to a room for one night
move to another room for two nights
move to ANOTHER room for two nights
move to a different city
move to a Universal resort once Robert gets there. RELAX.
move to Freedom of the Seas many days later. RELAX. try to not get sunburned.
disembark. catch a flight. cry.

But again, the short stays and repeated moves are with just me and the kid, and we can handle it. :p

I think with just you and your son, it will not be an issue to move around and could be a kind of adventure. I know I always wish I could stay in more places.. the kind of split stay your are talking about will definitely make that a possibility!:thumbsup2

Yes, an adventure!

Robert has to travel so much and see SO many hotels; I think that's the reason the split stays are wearing on him more than they are on me. What wears on me is the resistance. :) And he knows this; we communicate a lot about it, LOL. I never say anything about him that we haven't already talked about! (someone from an old message board once tried to get me into trouble with him, as her and my relationship was ending, by emailing him to tell him what I'd said about him...oh that did not play out like she expected...)

So, because we don't have to see the inside of a cool hotel in Brooklyn or an airport hotel in Newark, we get to see a few extra in Orlando. :goodvibes

Well that's new. Went to log into MyDisneyExperience (aka My Account on disneyworld.com...seriously, why do we need a different name when it's just My Account?) and instead of saying "log in to your account" or "log in to see MDE" or "log in to see your reservations" it said "Sign In to Order a Customized Map".

And that's literally where it took me. To order a map.

It's like a magic trick. Don't look here, to the place where we're messing up all/some/half/a little bit/NONE of your information and plans...look HERE and be mesmerized by the free customized maps....that you've ordered something like 5 of over the years...
