A few races and food, some theme parks and food, and a cruise...

Congratulations Molly! That's great!

I did my 10K! And I did so much better than I imagined I would! And almost all of it felt really good! Even the uphill parts. :)

Just before the start there was a huge thunderclap and it started drizzling on us. Everyone started laughing, because, you know...of course that would happen.

It was called the You Go, Girl race, and while they allowed men to run, they had to wear pink. I've never seen so many men wearing tutus.

My average was under 13 minutes per mile, so that was very exciting to me. And that included walk breaks and three stops to retie my shoes.

I was thinking of you for this race. I am so glad it went well for you!

Congrats, Molly!! That is awesome!

Thank you!!!!

Congratulations Molly! That's great!

Thank you!!!

I was thinking of you for this race. I am so glad it went well for you!

And thank you for the specific thoughts!!! :)

The website for the race mentioned a finisher's necklace for the little kid's 1K, but said nothing whatsoever about the other races. So I was very surprised when I was handed a necklace with the 10K mentioned! The necklace part is actually more of medal-length, and then it's a little necklace medallion, so basically I keep doing "gangsta" poses b/c that's what it feels like. :)

Uh, yes, I've worn it all day. Went to a birthday part of E's friend and wore it the whole time. Even wearing it now. If I weren't afraid of the necklace part strangling me, I'd sleep in it.

Gotta wear your bling!!

Since the only other bling I've gotten is the plastic medal from the Castaway Cay 5K I didn't actually realize how it would affect me. I'd thought I was all about the bibs, but hmm, I might be changing my views. Might have to make some amends going forward. :flower3:

Sore sore sore. Awesome. And lost too much on the scale since yesterday, so obviously my rehydration isn't going as well as it should.

Still so many things to order and organize for the trip! It's not ALL about running, after all. The guys aren't running and still need to know what they are doing, and I will actually need some clothing. :)

Quick, what am I supposed to be doing in these last, oh goodness, 18 days?

1. Ordered photopass plus. We weren't sure we were going to do it this time, but we've got at least the one character meal plus pirate's league, and I'm all for taking pictures of me nowadays, so why not? (and Robert is having success, so he likes his pictures more than he used to also)

Things on my mind: camelback at least for E, GPS watches, Crocs, clothing for me (got Robert some clothes on order, yay), camera b/c my camera is ancient and my iphone is the 4 and doesn't zoom. Other things, too, but it gets incredibly overwhelming to think about.

2. Get my clothes in order, at least on paper. Get rid of E's old too-small clothes. Get rid of ALL old clothes that don't fit anymore for various reasons.

3. Figure out a good way for Robert to carry the things he has to have on their airplane journey. I always carry those necessities, so we can't let him go into Work Mode lest he forget National Car coupon and magicbands and Eamon....

4. Return stuff from Land's End to Sears (bathing suit tops that didn't work), return some RoadRunnersports stuff.

5. soooo many other things......

Robert gets in tomorrow. He's taking some of his "time in lieu". He will be of help. This is good.

And tomorrow I'll be another day into feeling normal; I've been loop-o-rama around the house today! Had Grand Plans and did, like, half of one of them. Good to know for the 10 miler that I will NOT be of much use for decisions, and therefore our touring plan will have to be impeccable and easily followed by them (b/c it had them in mind while being created!) even if I've passed out on a bench somewhere. :)

I'm glad that Robert will be there to help you. Even if it is just as moral support.

I had made a post that was lost I guess. We have the worst wifi and cell phone reception in this rental house I never know what I am going to have post or not. :rolleyes2 The basics of my post was a rambling post about you needing to start yourself a running scrapbook to put all of your bibs into and your thoughts on the race. It might be fun to go back and look at it.

Called today's weight GOAL! Since I was only .2 over what I had originally thought would be goal, this wasn't a hardship. I was going to "call it" no matter what it was, though, because I gotta eat a little more. I can't be in losing mode right now in the run-up to the TOT race and even beyond as my training changes to Half marathon plans.

So now starts the tough road down something I've never walked before. I've never maintained. Went from growing as a child to battling myself as a teen, always trying to hit some perfect weight that I:

1. could never attain while eating like I was eating and/or
2. might never have attained anyway given my body type!

That went into adulthood and all the way through. This is truly the FIRST time I have ever tried to stay one weight or size.

I'm helping myself by buying a bunch of clothes in this size, and by getting rid of the bigger clothes. Because I have thrown down a bunch of money, it behooves me to not lose another size, at least for a matter of months, because this weight loss is getting financially draining! :crazy2:

If anyone has an advice on maintaining one's weight, I'm all ears!

And yesterday I ran (walk/jogged) 11 miles. :faint:

Good luck to you on weight. I know it is a struggle for so many. You ask for advice... I am not sure that I have the best to give, but portion control... watch portions. I am not the tinniest person in the world, but not the largest either. Most of my entire adult life I have stayed within 5 to 10 pounds of the same weight. Even now I weigh roughly the same as I did when I married my dh 24 years ago (just a few pound less) I know I am lucky, but I also think it is portions. I have watched as my friends who struggle more with weight. They will sit and eat a half a package of oreos (or more). Nothing wrong with eating that oreo (in theory) however, I never eat more than 3. Often it would be only 1 or two. Small plates are nice too.... you can't put too much on them. ;) Next is a balance. I truly believe that everything in moderation is a good motto. My dd just recently started drinking coffee with full fat in the milk. She was surprised when she lost some weight in doing so. I suspect that her body wasn't getting enough fat...and thus was hanging on to what ever else to compensate...and since it didn't actually need that something else...it held on to it as added weight. So... point is, ya can't be on a deprivation diet.... a little of even "bad" things is maybe good for you. Anyway... just some thoughts. Again, I am by no means an expert... or even really very knowledgeable. :upsidedow

BTW, congrats on the 11 miles!!! I think you are ready for ToT!!! Are you tapering now? I am and I am soooo happy!!!:goodvibes

Thanks Ann! It's just the basics, isn't it? Moderation, watching portions...it's not magic. Which is a bummer; I wish it were magic. :)

That's interesting about your daughter. DS's friend's mom has been working on whittling herself down to where she feels and looks good (she's 5'8" and 120 looks FANTASTIC on her and she FEELS good there too, and is almost there...it's funny to sit there at 5'3" and 15 pounds heavier than her but to still feel great), and one of the things she has done is to ADD fat to her diet. She's been gluten-free for a few years, and recently started doing Paleo (along with gluten-free), and the full fat milk, ice cream, etc, that can go along with Paleo has done wonders for her. She doesn't go overboard with it, of course.

Tapering, yes!

Oh! Look at this cute idea I read about on UCT.

I'm not normally one for matchy-matchy shirts (though I've done pin-on buttons before), but this trip feels different than most. So when I saw this I felt it would be the perfect option should there be a day that DH and I want to do *something* interesting, especially if one day DS decides he wants to dress like Indy or something. Since E is still a kid he's allowed to do that even without a halloween party, but we aren't.

So I think I'm off to the craft store, to pick up some supplies. :)

Plus, if the Seahawks start to lose I really don't want to be here for the guys' reactions to that, LOL. Chicken!

My goodness, what helpful information... "Good news––your MagicBand package is on the way! Your package is being sent via UPS and your tracking number is blahdeeblah!"

I was wondering if they were sending another set so I checked it out, and no...

Same one we got. Thanks, MyDisneyExperience, for making this YEAR so, um, interesting.

More frustration. The two orders I made through oldnavy are still processing. One was made on the 18th. Why why why. Augh. Need the clothes!

Poor me. :rolleyes1:headache:

But still...:hourglass

Aha, so ON reads my posts. :) The one from the 18th has shipped. Whew.

Molly, it never fails but when I really want or need what I ordered it takes forever. I stopped ordering from one company because I would order from and they would sell things that were on back order. Invariably something in every order wouldn't come.

Yep. I don't think I've ever ordered *needed* items this late before, but I have a whole lot on its way! Biting my nails here!

Actually started packing today. Just for myself, and some other things in general. I may or may not have made out a list of what I might wear each day, and so my packing is pretty easy.

Of course, quite a lot of those items are in the shipments on their way! :)

I'm even making a master list of my stuff. And I'm labeling ziptop bags so I know what's in 'em and what goes back in them. I'm scaring myself this time. But I'll be super-organized! As long as my stuff gets here.

Molly, for our trip in January I have planned nothing but the hotel and the rental car. I will probably be more into the planning once we get settled at home. Hopefully. :rotfl:
