I was there in January and the studio I was in did not have a smart tv and I had to watch cable all week. Do any of the rooms here have the new smart tvs with the casting?

Yes they have been in the rooms for quite some time. Perhaps something happened to the TV in your room and they had to make the swap. BTW cable is better than Oswald ears and having to fight between which sibling will turn the dial to a different channel!!
