9/10 yr old girl christmas gifts???

My daughter is 7 almost 8 but is well mature beyond her years... Ipod Touch, Watch, Legwarmers, and Toe Socks were on her list.... :) So she will be getting all of that... She is also into American Girl so we have a list of that stuff and I will be getting some accessories she wants and I think one outfit... Will also be getting her some craft and art supplies - she loves art and making crafts... if you are at a total loss go the gift card route - Justice or similar store any 9/10 year old will be happy with that

I think a laptop is GOOD.

Having multiple computers in our house has been great since so many of the school projects need to be typed. Both my young ones bought their own laptops with Holy Communion money 2 years ago.
Aside rom school, my boys use it for PS3 on-line gaming and my 10 yr old daughter use it for on-line games (Disney Fairy games, free games through girlsgogames.com). Sons use it to make movies. Daughter use it for photos.

Now, I will say I would NOT let them get a $700 laptop.

DD got a 10" mini HP for $200.
DS (who was 9 at the time) got a used one from a graduating college senior for $100.
For us the laptop is better than a tablet because it is less fragile with the cover shut.
=================================
Bath & Body Works/Stocking stuffers -- I got the mini travel scent shower gel and body lotion in light scents like vanilla. I also got the cup cake socks, but may give those to my neice instead.

Other stocking stuffers -- DD loves having stuffed animal key chains decorating her school pack. I got a sock monkey one at Hot Topic for $2.
Avon had some 99 cent candy cane shower gels last month that I got.
Book marks are a staple stocking stuffer for us as well as candy.
Usually get a pretty nail file and nail poilsh too.

What you guys doing for stocking stuffers?

Nail polish
Some pretty paper with her initial I got at the Target dollar spot
Fluffy socks
Big peppermint stick
Earrings
Candy she likes
iTunes card
Peace keychain

DD's stocking:

OPI Muppet nail polish (the mini pack of 4)
soccer print slippers
pens/notepads from Target dollar sport
Game tin from Kohls
toothbrush (tradition)

I may try and pick up some fun socks to shove in their too. Depends on how many things I end up with for her brothers.

So far my 9 year old DD is getting:

Razor Pogo Stick (20% off coupon @ Target)
Snowboard (on sale for $20 @ Target 2 weeks ago)
Lego Ninjago battle set
Nerf Vortex gun
Inkoo cat
nail polish
clothes from PS Aero (including a furry hoodie sweatshirt)
PJ's
itunes gc

My parents are getting her a metal detector ($50 @ BJ's) because she loves money :rotfl: and my dad thought it would be fun to throw change in the snow and send her out there to test it out ;) :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

She's not a girlie-girl as you can tell :rotfl: It feels weird shopping in the boys' toy aisle because my now 11 year old DD who no longer wants toys *sniff* *sniff* was always into Barbies and AG dolls :rotfl: They are completely different:goodvibes

Where'd you purchase the OPI Muppet nail polish (the mini pack of 4)?

My daughter's big gift this year will be an electric keyboard. (Reading this, I'm just now realizing how spoiled she is. She already has many of the items that are on several of the lists here.) Other than that she has asked for Orbeez (whatever that is), an itunes gift card, a pogo stick, and 2011 Guiness Book of World Records. Other ideas I have for her include a HoodieBuddy, Just Dance 3, Skullcandy earbuds, and stuff to redecorate her little girl room into a pre-teen room . Now, I definately won't be buying her ALL of that but I like to make a broad list and then narrow it down by what I find on sale, can easily find, ect....

I'm actually having more trouble thinking of things for her her 8 y.o. brother.

Reading the requests for pogo sticks makes me chuckle. My now 20 year old wanted one so badly when she was about 7, so my parents got her one. We lived about 6 blocks from her school and she had all intentions of pogo-ing to school. :lmao: She couldn't figure out why we thought it wasn't such a good idea.

DD10.5 is asking for a 3DS, the Lagoona Blue Hydration Station (Monster High), a couple of other Monster High dolls, the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, and Mario Kart 7 (for 3DS). We got her the new Harry Potter 3DS game and the Monster High DS game too. Oops - she wants a Fijit too. We bought that about 2 months ago so I forgot!

She also asked for the mini American Girl dolls of Kit and Marie-Grace - she said the big one (Marie-Grace) was too expensive. Santa is still deciding about whether or not to get the big one and surprise her.

I also put together a hygiene type kit if you will - I got her the "Care and Keeping of Me" book, deodorant, body wash, and perfume. I'm also probably going to get her an electric shaver and regular razors and put new pj's in there too.

Santa might bring the family an Xbox 360 with Kinect if he gets a good deal on BF, but that is a definite maybe. We looked at the pink scooter at Wal-Mart, but decided to wait another year (it said ages 13 and up).

She does already have a netbook and ipod touch from previous years.

Thanks for the info! :) I've written this down on my list to check out also. My DD likes the Ponytail Girls Club. Cute series with places for her to write and things to think about- sort of a novel with mini-devotions, that teaches life lessons. Your DD may like this.

My best suggestion for kids who love to read are to go old school. Elizabeth Enright has about a dozen books all of which are awesome. Look for Gone Away Lake and The Saturdays in particular. Kate DiCamilo is also very good, but more recent. Anything by Carlol Ryrie Brink is also good. A bit hard to find though. The Phantom Tollbooth, Bud Not Buddy, Chocolate Fever, and the Mysterious Benedict Society are all ones my book club kids have loved. I had kids who read the Myst. Benedict Soc. in one day because they couldn't put it down!

Walmart.com has the mini AG dolls for $13 right now!

Love the "hygiene" kit, DD was 9 in September, so I have been wondering how to introduce that book to her- that would be the perfect way. Her legs are very hairy too, so she said before next summer she wants the hair gone. LOL Also, she needs to start wearing deodorant and all, she plays sports and dances. She is a tomboy so no perfume and all, but the rest for her is great!! Thanks!!!:thumbsup2

OHH I like the Hygiene kit!! DD9 already has the Care and Keeping of Me book. But shes been asking about shaving and asking about using my body sprays, I had not even thought about electric shavers or such. Will be putting this together for both DD9 and DD7 now thank you
