Good Morning everyone, boy it's been a while since I've been on, ... [edited] ... and I leave for vacation tomorrow morning at 4AM, I am going to be visiting my relatives in Maine. Well I have to go now, I don't know if I will be able to get back on until I get back. Happy Birthday to the people I will miss while I am gone. Congrats to the people who get the pirates while I'm gone.

Things are looking starting to look better. She has an interview tomorrow. It's a Div III university. It sounds promising. Classes start in a little over a week, but they evidently don't have a computer instructor, so they sounded very interested. I'm suspecting it may be an Adjunct position for now, with maybe a foot in the door to faculty when she completes her dissertation. Due to proximity to us and career potential, I would really like to see this one work out.

She interviewed last week for another position at a state college, but hasn't heard back from them. And another small church affiliated college has contacted her regarding two positions they have open, but they're west of Columbus and a good 1-1/2 hour drive from where we are. So...if she were to be offered a position, we'd really have to look at the logistics.

On another note, since she loss her benefits from her previous employer, we had to apply for an individual life insurance policy for her. It was originally turned down by the underwriter because of her plans to travel to Colombia. However, we appealed to the company and explained to them that it was through the cruise and they approved :)

I'm hoping things go well for her tomorrow. Thanks for asking.:goodvibes

That does sounds promising, Joel. I really hope she gets an offer. Keeping my fingers crossed for her today!

Roger, I seem to remember a discussion about one of the car rentals being open at the port on Sundays for drop off. Would be great if we could get a recap on that as some are thinking about rentals as oppossed to transfers.

Cheryl congrats on finally getting the CC cards. I guess they didn't want you knocking on their doors :lmao:

Check to see if it works on DCL. My new card with the same ol number still didn't work. Found out from DCL they changed my # but still printed the old one. The new # worked but I am still waiting for them to send a new card to me. Just another struggle with them to get a new card sent. Maybe I will get it before the cruise.

G'mornin' pirate:s

Big day here for sk8ingfam...we are getting TV again. Yes, over 2 1/2 months without TV and we all survived. OK, we watched some in various hotel rooms, but none of us have seen TV since we got into out house on 7/23. Anyway, just in time for NFL Sunday Ticket to kick in

GO BROWNS! OK for something like the 20th season in a row, we're not expecting them to actually win anything, but they do in fact "GO" places.

This is for M's DS and the other person's DS who thought that we would be sailing through the arch at Cabo. If we did it would probably look like this.

I can't wait for him to wake up so I can show it to him!

Go LIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fear those drunk turtles.... Whoops...probably will be were DD ends up perhaps.

I LOVE the "Fear the Turtle" campaign. I love that U of MD embraces the fact that they have a less-than-ferocious mascot. DH is starting grad school, part-time in his "spare" time & I really wanted him to go there so I could yell "Fear the Turtle" whenever he should be upstairs studying.

"He's not lazy, it's just a matter of motivation." (To give you some insight into his current job, he comes home almost every night and watches random scenes from Office Space...and cries...a year ago he was doing 35 knots with his hair on fire, shooting things and jumping out of helicopters - now he's starring in Office Space) "He has 8 bosses."

joel ? :tilt:..however, iam not the least bit concern..afterall, me & sk8,
have graduated....not to fret..our kids will reverse that trend! :thumbsup2

No no no, my kids wouldn't even think of drinking and partying underage

but then again, they are 7 & 9...

Arlene a couple of the hotels have rental offices on site, but we need to get a little closer time wise to confirm their Sunday schedules. Stay tuned.

Enjoy your day at sea.

Can you beleive how fast this is going already. Anyway we left Puerto Vallarta around 9:30 last night and are now heading for Acapulco.

Side note: We have now changed time twice since we left LA. 1st on the second night (before arriving in Cabo) and then the next night before arriving in Puerto Vallarta. So we are in Central time for the next 3 days.

Would make it a whole lot harder if we used the ties on them, though. I wonder if they're big enough to hold a lot of stuff? I realized that the wooden box I'd made before wouldn't be.

I may have to get one just to see.

Stace, I don't think so. On Michaels website it didn't have a shopping cart.

Went to drop off the kids at camp in the pouring rain...... Get there..Camp cancelled. Bathrooms not working, UGH!!!! So I had to bang in a vacation day. At least I'll get to dis. The boys are begging to go see the Simpsons Movie. I'm still deciding. Not that thrilled with the Simpsons. Why couldnt camp get cancelled on a nice day?????

Good Morning, everyone!

One more week 'til the kids are back in school. In the meantime I don't have much time to DIS.

Roger--I LOVE the cruise updates. :)

Deanna,

Just had to tell you that I had Graeter's Ice Cream this weekend. My friends visited from Cinncinnati and brought a cooler filled with pints. Got to have my favorite Buckeye Blast and some of the Black Raspberry Chip.
There goes my diet but it was so good. YUMMY, YUMMY!

Hey Enna's back... Thought maybe the safehouse was compromised.....

Good Morning everyone, boy it's been a while since I've been on, real life put a cog in my wheel. Happy Belated Birthday Wishes to everyone I've missed. Congrats to all who got pirates. Alot has been happening, Boy Scout fundraisers such as selling food at Memorial Day Parade and the 4th of July Fireworks. Running all of the drink counters (7) at our annual Balloon Festival. I wanted to give you all a little bad news also, my dog of 12 years past away on July 5. I still look for her in the backyard, plus whenever we have a ham, we always gave her the bone and she really loved it. I had to keep her outside because she was a lab and loved people to death and I have my inlaws which are in their 80's and can not walk to good living with us. I also have a little of good news, my husband got me a gift certificate for a massage, which he never would have gotten if he didn't go and have one before I did and I leave for vacation tomorrow morning at 4AM, I am going to be visiting my relatives in Maine. Well I have to go now, I don't know if I will be able to get back on until I get back. Happy Birthday to the people I will miss while I am gone. Congrats to the people who get the pirates while I'm gone.

Sorry about your dog! My dog can be such a pain in the add sometimes, but I would miss her so much if she was gone. I've had so many dogs come & go in my life & I always swear I'm never getting another one, but somehow I always do! Must be something about the way they love you no matter how you look, what your mood is, or what mistakes you make. I hope you enjoy Maine! Take Care!

In the end I must confess we will NOT return to this Bakersfield restuarant again - mostly because they don't take AMEX as that complicates our accounting. And that is partially our fault since we missed the absence of an AMEX welcome sticker on the door or front counter. It's so rare that a restuarant refuses AMEX we tend to forget about checking this.

Oh well... sometimes I wonder if I'm too "nice" about some things... :confused3

Crash I think DH & I feel the same way sometimes. I am more likely to send something back, but he will suffer through even if it's not to his liking. It takes a lot for us to make a fuss, and I'm not sure that's always a good thing. One time we were at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe in DTD & we sat for a good 10 mins without being acknowledged. So I flagged a waiter & told him we appeared to be overlooked. Well the manager came over & they were so apologetic, which really wasn't necessary because like I told him sometimes mistakes happen & this was one of them. No big deal. Anyway, the funny thing is he offered to buy us an appetizer & I said it wasn't necessary because we were on the free dining plan & were getting them anyway. So he just said, "Oh well enjoy your meal!" Mind you I wasn't expecting anything in the first place, but then when he offered & we got nothing but an enjoy your meal....it just made DH & I crack up! Did he think because we were on the free dining plan that we were getting enough already? Very weird!

On this Tuesday, one year ago, the Magic was docking at Costa Maya, Mexico. This morning at 3am local time, category 5 Hurricane Dean, with winds of 165mph, was making landfall near Costa Maya. Here are a few of our memories from last year at Costa Maya.

Aw Andy thanks for the memories of Costa Maya. That port was so pretty & I hope it does not sustain too much damage! I will say a prayer for them!

girl...:yay: ..things got better!... ..in the tents....:rolleyes1

So you attended Florida and Air Force prior to OU? I do remember watching AFA beating OSU in the Liberty Bowl years ago and, of course, Florida wasn't too nice to OSU either in the BCS game or NCAA b-ball game last year, so you may have some karma going that might not sit well with Buckifan or your DW.

Speaking of dogs, I have to share with you one of the reasons my cockerpoo Rosie is such a pain in the add. While we were on vacation, I had a friend come in & let her out a few times a day, play with her & make sure she had enough food. I left the TV on & pretty much gave her the run of the house. We put her in a kennel once & she was so traumatized that she didn't eat while she was there. When we picked her up she was all skin & bones so I swore I wouldn't put her back in one. Well I thought her being in familiar surroundings would make her happy & she wouldn't miss us too much.

While we were at BWVs I got a call that she had torn a hole in the wall by the front door all the way to the studs, she tore 2 shades apart, tore one of my curtains to shreads & even tore the 6ft wooden rod right out of the wall, and she ripped the whole bottom of one of my screens & escaped. Luckily a neighbor spotted her & kept her till my friend showed back up. Anyway, this is a dog that we've left alone & the house all day long many many times & she's never chewed anything.

I guess that was a bad idea & now we have to figure out something else when we go away. She is not friendly to other dogs so it's almost impossible to find a place to take her. I need the dog whisperer! Anyone watch that show? I love Cesar! It's amazing what he can do with dogs or really what he teaches the owners. I need him to teach me a few things.

SOOOO worth it, Laura!

Love the Black Raspberry Chip....I haven't had it since 4th of July fireworks. We walked down to Graeters while we waited for the show to begin. I really need to go there again!
