Ahhhh! I am finally done filing my big bad tax return for my employer

The big bad 391,620 row e-file XML was accepted by the IRS a couple hours ago.

Now I can go into vacation mode!

And finished just in time for my first DCL this coming Sunday!

Note to self, figure out a way to finish one week earlier next year!

Diane,

I keep wishing my kitchen was "only as messy" as yours.....

(Think darker cabinets, 2 black dogs worth of hairballs rolling around the kitchen floor even when i sweep daily)

Believe me when I tell you...that floor looks a lot cleaner in the picture than it really is! Shhhh! The cabinets also used to be a really dark wood with pull handles right in the middle. Very 70's! We took the handles off, filled the holes, painted the cabinets white & put on new hardware. We also painted the walls a bright green to lighten up the place, but we are soon painting it a more neutral color to appeal to the masses. At least that's what Lisa Laporta says we should do & she's the expert. (Design to Sell on HGTV for those that have no idea what I'm talking about!) ;)

I was just reading the tipping thread on the main board.:sad2:

I was wondering if it's possible to prepay the tips for the cruise. If so, how would I you go about doing that.

If there is no direct way, you could purchase Disney gift cards (or Visa/AmEx etc. gift cards) and bring them and apply to account right when you are doing tips.

Here is my Rosie protecting me from DS who has apparently lost his mind...again! Excuse my messy kitchen. I have no counter space & I always make a mess when I cook. Plus you can see what I mean about renovations if you look at my back door which has no trim or door knob & has not been painted....yet. :sad2:

Diane....we have more than goofy dogs in common. My son looses his mind on a regular basis as well! :lmao:

The cabinets look like they turned out great. Looks like we watch all of the same "Life Improvement" shows.....Dog Whisperer, Design to Sell....:goodvibes

Sorry, Cheryl! :goodvibes

But I have to tell you....they shouldn't even call it Raspberry Chip, because it's actually chocolate chunks! Sometimes HUGE chunks! It's like finding a little treasure when you come upon one of the big ones!

YUMMY - that looks wonderful!

While I was on RCCL's Sovereign of the Seas they announced that they are building new ships that will be almost twice the size of their current Freedom Class Ships. That will also make them about 100,000 tons more than the new DCL ships that will be built. The following is an exerpt from a Miami Herald article:

Ft. Lauderdale and Miami battle for biggest cruise ship:

The Port of Miami may be the cruise capital of the world, but Fort Lauderdale is vying for bragging rights as home to the world's largest cruise ship.
Port Everglades and Royal Caribbean Cruises are in talks about a $37.4 million expansion of Terminal 18 to accommodate the line's Project Genesis ships that will be launched in 2009 and 2010.
The 220,000-ton ships -- the first of which will cost $1.2 billion and the second of which has a $1.4 billion price tag -- will each carry 5,400 passengers and 2,100 crew members.
That will make the mammoth vessels some 40 percent larger than today's biggest, Royal Caribbean's 160,000-ton Freedom class vessels. They carry 3,634 passengers and offer over-the-top amenities like an onboard surfing simulator, a boxing ring and a 14-person family suite.
On Wednesday, the Broward County Commission will consider whether to authorize Port Everglades' director to negotiate an agreement with Royal Caribbean aimed at bringing the giant vessels to the port.

I'm not sure how eager I am to go on a cruise because it has a boxing ring, but the family suite sounds neat. I can't imagine what these new cruise ships will look like in person! I wonder if there will eventually be a cap on just how big these ships can get? :confused3

Oh definitely! Like I said I am extremely happy with the decision & I truly thank all those involved that made this all happen. I am also thrilled that this gives me more ammunition to keep DH on board...literally! I have no problem paying extra for a cruise that I know will definitely be a TOAL, but DH is not so convinced. I'm trying though...and I'll keep trying! ;) :rolleyes1

Awww...

... you've been together how many decades? You know he'll soften up and be happy in the end. If his resistance persists - then there's gotta be a nice Victorias' Secret somewhere near by - or a (gasp) Fredricks of Hollywood store somewhere in the region. Swing by one of those stores and I'm sure you'll walk away with a husband influencing idea or two.

< grins and soft chuckles >

I hear there's a great sale going on over there and we all know how much our male spouses love to hear about what you saved by spending all that money on stuff .... right?

< groans and mock irony >

Wow we do have a lot in common! Notice my DS is wearing a turtle shell on his arm, a lei around his neck, a police helmet, mask, & he is waving a hop-along-horse like it is a samarui sword? And notice I am not fazed in the least, because it's a regular occurance around here! I'm not complaining, because in a few years he'll be too cool to act silly like that! :sad1:

I'm sorry but I have not shut up today have I? Well I'll tell you why. I am babysitting three other kids which means I have five kids running around so I'm hiding upstairs in the office. I wish it was chat night! :headache:

I see all this talk about...

... larger ships as actually talk about companies gaining greater profit margins as opposed to truly delivering more to the PAX. I actually prefer the smaller ships with less herding and crowds. Strange you might think coming from a Disney fan who hits DL as often as possible and cruises happily where-ever and when-ever (by my humble standards).

I see the cruise lines as preparing to accomidate the swelling ranks of baby boomers coming into retirement years - and probably looking for a nice cruise somewhere. The swelling of the cruise capacity in recent years is nothing short of breath taking IMO.

I for one have had no special inclination to sail anyh of those super sized ships - and silently lok forward to Disney's new larger ships. Although it is nice to see new "wow" attracions on a ship - just yesterday I picked up a couple cruise line brochures for small ship lines (Lindblat being one). Not that we'll be sailing any time soon on an "Explorer" ship with the L line - rather I was curious how it all fit together. We have family which sails L and I thought it might be nice to think about the potential for a voyage together some day.

surfing.gif

At any rate - 220 thusand tons.... whew! I can see it now - they'd be disembarking for half the day and embarking for the afternoon through early evening. And a logistical snafu at a port call could mean folks not even making it off or back on in time! <chuckles> Yeah... I really don't hold much interest in doing a sailing on a 200+ thousand ton ship - as actually I would look askew at those sailings! EXCEPT - I would be curious about that ship with the surfing wall! Hmmm.... I read about that in Forbes magazine - how the manufacturer developed his machine and business.

Awwww....

Diane, you've been good company. I'm sitting here in the hotel watching the kids experiment with sugar in water cups and jump from bed to bed as I wait for my spouse to return. Shes' due back any minute actually but has not called yet. We have to get home by 3PM to pick up an LCD projector from a business friend - and then she has a dinner to attend tonight.

So - it's been nice havin' you around to hang around with. You have, however, kept me from reading backwards any to catch up on old postings. I'm only at 70,800 (or 71,800). SO I still got a little ways to go til I'm back to the postings of Aug 1st when I last left town.

And on another note - today I saw there were 102,000 SAHDs versus some 5 million SAHMs. Thats' 50:1... leaving me in a somewhat small group. Sigh... how am I to interpret something like that? I am lucky to still generate a little revenue as a SAHD ... so what of it? I still get self concious at the parks in the middle of the day with my kids as other Moms sort of maintain polite distance.

<silent sighs>

7141576_36_1.jpg
And on another note - I can now say semi-officially that "I've seen (or read) it all"... a blind golfer just hit a hole in one! It was a 53 year old woman golfer who was blinded by diabetes 26 years ago. The hole was 144 yeard par 3 and she had 5 witnesses! The odds of an amateur golfer for sinking a hole in one according to a 1999 isssue of Golf Digest was one in 12,750. What do you figure the odds are for a BLIND amateur golfer?

Remind me how old he is again? Mine is 12 and he is still crazy! :goodvibes

Those are beautiful Debi! I was tempted to buy that ring, but I didn't dare!

Yeah, same here. The earrings that matched were pretty cute too. It was a toss up between these and a pair of Tinkerbell ones.

May I suggest the furry pink handcuffs?

They always drew a chuckle from me!

< they stay in the car trunk "locked" away >
