Andrew it is not nice tempt a woman on a diet!!! I am trying to lose before I gain weight on the free dining at WDW in two weeks.:rolleyes1

No.

I could bore you for hours with stories of the lovely medical system provided by the government. A few years ago, I called in June to schedule my kids school physicals...we got an appointment for November. I should say appointments - it requires 3 seperate trips to the clinic, with at least an hour wait each time. Everyone I know waits until a condition is serious enough to go to the emergency room. It is a lot like being uninsured.

Our tax dollars at work.

Could you make that our HARD TAX DOLLARS at work. If it was not for the red tape, nothing would be holding our government together.:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2:

At last I'm on

Vacation!

We leave tomorrow for Virginia, then it's the Auto train for a day down to sunny Florida and on to WDW:thumbsup2 !

Hope to see everyone at our DIS mini meet on August 25, 2007, at the Villas Pool Wilderness Lodge starting at 1 PM.

For all traveling please have a safe trip and enjoy!

Talk to you all in September.:)

Have a great time!!!!!:woohoo: I sure wish I was going to your mini meet too!!! Say hi to everyone for me!!!:grouphug:

Cheryl: Chuck has changed his schedule. He now comes home at 6:45 for dinner then works on his computer. He also goes in earlier. At least we get dinner together as a family.

Now for me, feel free to pass info on to John. Finally went to DR. yesterday and I see some $$ medical bills in my future.:sad2: I got all the bloodwork done today. Tomorrow I go for a manipulation?:confused3 We finally go on our delayed dinner cruise tomorrow night.:thumbsup2

Next Wed. I go for a back ex-ray and CT scan, Thursday for a heart ultra sound scan.

The Dr. is 99 % sure I will need surgery for a operation that I had back in 2000.

Tina, lets think positive first. Maybe everything will turn out okay.:goodvibes There is still the one percent chance!! I am glad DH is at least eating dinner with you now. Thank goodness for insurance!!! We had over a $1,000,000 with DH and his heart. He had to find another job becuase he ran out of insurance.

Enjoy the cruise and hope it is a beautiful sunset tomorrow night for you and Chuck.:flower3:

Lost this thread for long time just happen to see it show up. I wanted to get to know some people going on this cruise since my husband and I will be cruising alone for the first time.

Glad you found us again. DH and myself are crusing alone for the third time! I love it!!!:yay:

Hey neighbor! Welcome aboard...or welcome back as it were. :hippie:

Hi everyone!

I've been really busy the last few days so only on here intermitently. Busy at the office and a lot going on at home. We are leaving on a mini-vacation tomorrow morning, so I have been cleaning and packing since I got home from work. We are going up to Northern Wisconsin to my family's cabin. Things have been so mixed up this summer, that this is the first (and probably only) time I've been up there this year. DH & I can only stay till Tuesday, but my parents are driving up then and DS will stay with them until next Sunday - at least he gets a nice long visit up there!

I probably won't be online until we get back - the only way to get internet up there is to take the laptop to a local place called Ed's Pitstop. You sit at a picknic table outside and can use the wireless there! Since the forcast is for cool and rainy, I don't know if I want to do much of that.

DS loves going to the cabin, but he is definitely bummed about missing HSM2! He is a major fan. We do not have TV up there, so I have setup the VCR (yes - high tech everything else, but our audio-video stuff is in the dark ages :rotfl2: ) here to tape it tomorrow night for him. I have a feeling that the first thing he will do when he gets home is run for the TV!

Enjoy your long weekend Pamela.:goodvibes

Some have spoken of SF as the "Paris" of the USA. And certainly Paris is a fun place to visit!

Not so much Paris, as Brussels. My grandmother (Lupe) swore she was French, even tho' she lived in the Pyrannies on the Spanish Border (more sort of Basque). As such I've never been fond of the French.

I have other reasons, but I have to save some of my stories for the cruise or we won't have anything to talk about over drinks.:drinking1

The problem (if it can be called that) with living in a destination city is that you don't see it as the tourists do. I can't tell you the last time I rode a cable car or walked across the Golden Gate Bridge. I've never been to Alcatraz and I think the last time I went to Angel Island I was in High School.

All that being said, DH and I often discuss where we would live if we could live anywhere and it usually comes down to here or London. We both love theatre and history and books.

There are some really wonderful bike/hiking trails around here - I can hardly wait until DD is old enough for a bike.

We love the theater too. I could camp out at Leichester Square thrice weekly to catch a half price show. And in SF I could envision dining out a somewhere new just as often. In either city wandering through a new path every other day would be such a plesaure!

AND... I can relate to your not getting out somehow to see the "renown attractons" in your own back yard. I have lived my entire life in SoCal and there remain a few things I have yet to get around to as well. for example I have not been to the recently reopened Getty Malibu estate - nor have I been to the Peterson automotive or several other museums locally. So yeah... after 4 plus decades around LA - I have NOT seen it all yet out here! Just like you folks - except you may have less time in your region (or not?).

At any rate - may I suggest ya gotta look ta the bright side of things sometimes. You're living near a destination I regard with some degree of unabashed envy. And TOMORROW you could retask your weekend to start hiking with family in tow. Get one of those backpacks with a child seat and hit the trails! It may not be a bike - but it will get you out there. OR... his weekend might be the perfect time to do a picnic in the Presidio area while overlooking the fantastic vistas! So... if ya do get out - we would love ta see some pix of the vistas ya took in... ok? < steady grinnin' ;) >

Welcome aboard Brab! And a hearty welcome to yer spouse too! Are ya gonna pack a pirate costume? Are ya ready for the "Secret Mickey" thing? Are ya packin' a Fish Extender? It seems you've sailed some in the past since this thime the kiddies are staying home. SO.... it seems you're in fer a nice "total vacation" from the norm! And that sounds simply wonderful! Cheers ta ya on that!:thumbsup2

Hi Tom, glad to see you all made it home! I hope you had a wonderful time with your family.:)

I had a beautifuly relaxing time - we went to the beach almost every morning - met with relatives and friends we sometimes miss - and had lots of pleasant low key meals. AND we managed to dodge some of the high-Maka-Maka stuff I sometimes get drawn into with past visits. So - on the whole it was sweet.

I have to run now to pick up my dog from my sister. He stays with her when we travel - an he sort of loves her to death. She loves him too - and cooks steaks and lean chicken for him... so yeah - compared to my sister - he must look on me with grudging tolerance! <chuckles>

I just checked my email - and see that the 1st edition of our Pirate Zone newsletter has arrived. Cheers to the staff that created it (Tom31?... JR?). A quick glance confirms what I heard from a friends' email - that DCL has reversed the $100 pp PC fee! So yeah!!!!

TAKE WHAT YA CAN!!!!

So - it's good to be home again - and I Gotta scoot now...
