I've got the black and white mickey tropical print skirt from a few years back. Hoping that's out of date enough not to run into too many! Altough, it would make a fun picture to have all the people in the matching shirts/dresses together!

I was thinking the same thing about a funny foto op!

Posts on the Kid's meet thread.... I want to say that I am so jealous that so many of your children love to read!! Both of our boys (28 & 10) are avid readers, DH & I both read ALOT!

But, for some reason our girls don't care for books.
Our 17dd only reads what is assigned to her. 6dd (almost 7) told us *I'm too cool for books* and they way it was said it sounded like she really is too cool for books! ;)

I was really upset the other night while i was talking to dh about this..... I carry books & reading material with me every where! I always have at least one book in my purse!!

I probably won't be wearing this dress on Tropical night BUT, I will wear it either on the cruise or in WDW afterwards. ;)

I have a ton of Disney dresses that I bring with me! I wear them alot at home, also.

Wow, everyone is in such planning mode. I can't seem to get there totally, since life is taking up a big portion of my time. We have our oldest DS's wedding this saturday. DH and I found out we are going to be grandparents. Hooray!! Now I can start taking grandkids on cruises. My brother is getting married the following saturday. We also volunteer for boyscout fundraisers alot during the summer months. I can not wait until this cruise.
I did order the t-*****s and some totes. I need to do alot more though.

Welcome to all newcomers. Happy Birthday's to all I've missed.

Okay I'm off to start cooking dinner. Don't know what I'm going to make yet.
Have a great day.

I'm still frustrated not knowing my stateroom number. I talked to reservations today and they said it could be up to the day of sailing before we know the stateroom. Are they going to attach a trailer to the back of the ship if they have run out of rooms. We're guaratee cat. 5. It seems it would be easier to assign cabins than to field all the questions. I have a Royal Caribbean cruise for next Feb. with only a deposit and have a stateroom and have had the stateroom assigned on every other cruise I've ever booked. I wish they would tell us what the problem is!

With DCL you can usually get cabin numbers - and those who booked earliest on this cruise got them as well. Keep in mind that this particular cruise probably set records in terms of selling out quickly - it was a matter of hours between the time reservations opened and the ship was completely sold out - so it's probably very different from your Royal Caribbean cruise.

Even RC starts selling GTY cabins when a category is close to selling out - that gives them flexibility in selling cabins and moving people around (say a group comes in wanting 2 or 3 adjecent cabins).

So there's really no problem. If you take GTY you basically give them the right to move you around even up to the very last minute at port. In return you get a chance of an upgrade, possibly a lower price, and in this particular case - a place on the ship.

I have nothing to say except that was one of my fav episodes!

Let the truth be known...

.. there are sooooo many star trek episodes that I enjoy - or dare call "favorites"...

ISS_Enterprise_%28NX-01%29.jpg

This episode ("In a Mirror, Darkly") was soooo entertaining as nothing quite like it had been done before...

Synopsis said:
In the Mirror Universe, an amoral, imperialistic version of the Enterprise crew is led by Captain Forrest and his treacherous first officer, Archer. Archer has proposed that the ship head into Tholian space, where a mysterious vessel has been captured. Archer believes the ship may contain the technology that would be valuable to the Terran Empire. Forrest, however, thinks Archer is merely trying to seize power, and dismisses the idea.
A determined Archer has another plan up his sleeve, however — with help from Major Reed and Sergeant Mayweather, he stages a mutiny, taking control of the ship and imprisoning Forrest in the brig. Archer promotes Commander T'Pol to first officer, appoints Mayweather his personal guard, and takes up with Forrest's lover, Hoshi.

As Enterprise approaches Tholian space, the crew captures a Tholian pilot. Phlox takes great pleasure in torturing the creature, who finally gives Archer the information he wants: the exact location of the mysterious vessel.

In Engineering, Trip and T'Pol work to install a Suliban cloaking device on Enterprise. Something goes wrong, however, and a power overload damages the cloak. Archer realizes it was sabotage, and Reed determines that the saboteur was Trip. Reed tortures Trip using the sadistic agony booth, but the engineer offers no further information. Later, Archer has another realization: the target of the sabotage wasn't the cloak — it was the ship's internal sensors. In fact, the actual culprit was T'Pol, who mind-melded with Trip and tricked him into performing the sabotage.

T'Pol frees Forrest from the brig and the duo takes control of the bridge. Archer, however, has a surprise for them: he's encrypted the ship's controls, and they won't be released until Enterprise has reached its destination in Tholian space. Forrest is furious, but there's not much he can do — especially when he is ordered to investigate the captured ship.

Archer briefs the senior staff on the ship: it is believed that the vessel came from a parallel universe via an interphasic rift. What's more, the ship isn't just from another reality — it's also from another time, about 100 years in the future.

Once Trip gets the cloaking device working, Enterprise heads for the coordinates of the future ship. The ship, which bears the name and registry U.S.S. Defiant, NCC-1764, is being kept inside a Tholian spacedock facility. Forrest sends an assault team, led by Archer, onboard. He tells T'Pol to accompany the team — and to make sure Archer doesn't come back alive. The team boards the ship, which is littered with dead human bodies. Still, they manage to bring the Defiant's systems online.

Onboard Enterprise, the Tholian prisoner wakes up and starts making a racket . Phlox kills it, but Enterprise's problems aren't over: several Tholian ships are approaching. Using continuous streams of energy, the Tholian vessels form a complex web that completely surrounds Enterprise. As the web closes in on the ship, Forrest tries to fight back, but to no avail. Desperate, he orders everyone to abandon ship. From the bridge of the Defiant, Archer and his team watch in shock as Enterprise explodes with Forrest onboard.

... This was another favorite Enterprise episode where a lot of original thinking was exercised. The alternate universe was "fun" with the slightly more provokcative ladies uniforms and bad boy credo of the Imperialistic Terran Emprie. Plus they engaged in more "combat" with another interesting species - the Tholians in the advanced Heavy Cruiser Defiant!.

I used to work for DEC in Reading. Bought a house in Woodley (Buccaneer Close - I think - sold long ago) back in 1987. I've been over in California for nearly 19 years now.

Andy

Small world - that is a 5 minute walk from our house. DH's aunt also used to work for DEC! That said, I'm sure California is warmer than Woodley! I doubt you'd recognise much of Woodley or Reading now. If you're signed up for FE I'll drop you a couple of postcards to remind you of what you're missing!!!!

I have a tropical print sun dress I plan on wearing. I hope to buy a Mexican shirt in Puerta Vallarta for Mexican night.

I just bought a sundress today at Kohl's. Buy one get one free. My Mom bought one and I got the free one.:rotfl: Also found a pair of flats to go with my Princess dress. They are dressy but flat (no heels).

I came across this skirt this morning.

Cute. I have a flowered skirt I may wear...or a print shirt with capris.

To Rockolamamma (Michele) and all others scheduled for Rhythms of the Night

I have read the same reviews you have about the excursion. Some say it's the best thing in Puerto Vallarta and others say it's a Booze Cruise. I was looking for something different for that evening because it's our anniversary. I was thinking Palo or this excursion. I couldn't book both so I went with Rhythms of the Night. I'm hoping for great weather and calm seas that night. It would have been nice if the West bounders had been able to do this excursion so we could have had their reviews. Anyone else have some thoughts?

I have too few posts to send you a PM so I'm posting this here. I guess I better get busy and get some more posts.

I was concerned about this tour too after seeing some of the videos at YouTube, so I emailed DCL excursions. I was worried that it would not be appropriate for my DD10 (though they allow 10 and up) and I was worried the other adults may not appreciate a kid being on what may be an adult excursion. Anyway, DCL ensured me it would be family friendly, so hopefully that means it will be a little bit lighter on the "booze cruise" aspect!!! At least I am hoping because we really want to experience the beach and show part!!!!

And....I have that same black Mickey dress!!!!!:goodvibes

Lil' G ...

It pleases me to no end that SOMEONE got a chuckle out of my antics and flights of whimsy. Next time you show your spouse a spidey picture you've got to be ready to secretly trace/tap her gently on a sensitive part of her shoulder, ear lobe or similar as she looks at the spider pictures.

Now - regretfully, I hate to post and run - but we have a birthday party now - and then a sunset BBQ on the beach tonite. I'll post pictures if they come out as nice as I hope they will!

You are an official fluffer now!!!:cool1:

Yeah!

I agree .... Lil G' is GUILTY as charged!

We're still GTY too. It's really annoying to me, because our family is traveling in 2 cabins, and I really hope that they keep us near each other. They say that they have it noted on our reservation, but I don't have a lot of faith in DCL these days.

Not sure if anyone has looked into SPF clothing. I'm not sure that it even works, but I decided to pick up a couple of shirts to try out, especially for Panama Canal crossing day....

I ordered from Lands End... In case anyone is intrested, here are a couple of links...

You forget this is Disney Cruise and don't worry.;) There are losts of people that are stil GTY!!!:rolleyes1

My DS16 just got a Stephen King book from the library, I hope it likes it, he reads about a book every few days, so it is hard for me to keep enough books in the house for him. We counted the Stephen King books at the library and we counted over 30, that should keep him set for at least a month if he likes the one we got!!!

Oh, and yes, I added make Chicago reservations to my to do list...I saw you remind me about that at the end of the last thread! I am really excited to do that!!!! :) SO EXCITED to meet a few of you in person!
