Posts on the Kid's meet thread.... I want to say that I am so jealous that so many of your children love to read!! Both of our boys (28 & 10) are avid readers, DH & I both read ALOT!

But, for some reason our girls don't care for books.
Our 17dd only reads what is assigned to her. 6dd (almost 7) told us *I'm too cool for books* and they way it was said it sounded like she really is too cool for books! ;)

I was really upset the other night while i was talking to dh about this..... I carry books & reading material with me every where! I always have at least one book in my purse!!

I too feel that way about the boys and girls reading. My DD19 could care less about reading.. but my DS 15 reads all the time. I also, have reading material with me at all times. when I pick them up from school functions and of cousre they are always on time to come out to the car..
I will read a book or magazine.

Not sure if anyone has looked into SPF clothing. I'm not sure that it even works, but I decided to pick up a couple of shirts to try out, especially for Panama Canal crossing day....

I ordered from Lands End... In case anyone is intrested, here are a couple of links...

SPF Shirt 1

SPF Shirt 2

Another approach to consider: I ran all the outdoor shirts I brought last summer through RIT sunguard - it adds SPF protection to your clothing.

Wow, everyone is in such planning mode. I can't seem to get there totally, since life is taking up a big portion of my time. We have our oldest DS's wedding this saturday. DH and I found out we are going to be grandparents. Hooray!! Now I can start taking grandkids on cruises. My brother is getting married the following saturday. We also volunteer for boyscout fundraisers alot during the summer months. I can not wait until this cruise.
I did order the t-*****s and some totes. I need to do alot more though.

Welcome to all newcomers. Happy Birthday's to all I've missed.

Congrats on the upcoming wedding and of course being a grandma.. I hope all goes with both occasions.. And a brother getting married too? Doesnt he know your planning a Disney Cruise here??
:lmao:

I plan on doing the same thing but I do need clothes too!! ::yes:: I also like to carry my formal wear because I hate shopping for it!!:headache:

Shame on you for making your poor lil miss cut the grass.:( I just stand and watch John and hold open a lawn bag once in awhile.:rotfl2:

Oh Good............my feet have not been in heels for years.::yes:: I wish there were dress gym shoes!!!:rolleyes1

I am carry one of my formals in my carry on because it is a full length beaded gown and it weighs too much to pack! :rotfl2:

I told Katherine that from the very beginning that she should not volunteer to help with any *man chores* because she is a GIRL. And if she helps once then her dh will expect her to always help.

Heels? What are heels?

Dh asked me once why I carry a bag of stuff to read.....*Because I'm always waiting for your children to get out of an activity/class!* LOL!

I just bought a sundress today at Kohl's. Buy one get one free. My Mom bought one and I got the free one.:rotfl: Also found a pair of flats to go with my Princess dress. They are dressy but flat (no heels).

Cute. I have a flowered skirt I may wear...or a print shirt with capris.

"I went to
kohls as well today. I bought a pair of water sneaker shoes.or trek shoes. At Eastern Mountain Sports they are $110 and at Kohls today...$24.99 on sale from $50. I am hoping to wear these for the zip line adventure and the Shot over ride. I didnt want to ruin a good pair of running shoes in case they got wet.. and I would need more then a sandel on these excursions. Has anyone ever worn these before?

I'm so far behind I didn't even read the last pages of the last thread. Let me know if I missed anything good:listen:

I  John Wayne movies!!!
My DH is a big fan too. We have tons of his movies on video or DVD. "True Grit" is the movie I like the most, but it is pretty cool seeing him in some of his early movies (Stagecoach, etc):goodvibes

Someone started posting Navs from the WB.

On one of the days for attire it says "Formal (No Shorts)"

I thought we couldn't (and I use that loosely) wear shorts to dinner? Can we wear shorts to dinner?

I am so confused!:confused3

Chrissie
I think DCL requests no shorts, but they will not throw anybody out of the dining rooms for wearing them (thus resulting in huge fights on the main forum:rolleyes1 ). Palo will turn people away if wearing shorts though.

I'm not really in planning mode yet either and I don't even have your reasons/excuses;)

Those sound great. I need to get my family some water shoes too, except I need them with me to try things on and they all hate to shop:worried:
What kind/brand did you get ? Is Eastern Mountain Sports a brand name ?

I've got the black and white mickey tropical print skirt from a few years back. Hoping that's out of date enough not to run into too many! Altough, it would make a fun picture to have all the people in the matching shirts/dresses together!

I told Kevin "We'd look like part of the entertainment!":rotfl:

Does it match this dress --

I probably won't be wearing this dress on Tropical night BUT, I will wear it either on the cruise or in WDW afterwards. ;)

I have a ton of Disney dresses that I bring with me! I wear them alot at home, also.

That's cuuute!

You will see them occasionally.....unfortunately!

How exciting! Congratulations Gramma!!!!!

I saw this activity on the Pirate Zone, but no contact information on how to sign up. Is this still happening?

EMS is a store and yes a brand name.. They have a website as well. I just got a brand from KOHLS. (EVEREST) in red.. They are cute and comfy. My feet too say HEELS?? the torture....:furious: Kohls ahs buy one get one for free too.. so if you can get the family there this week.. it will pay off in the long run...good luck with that!!:drive:

Great minds think alike... I am concerned about PC and zipping so I got 2 SPF shirts from REI and the SPF capis/ pants from sport authority..

I was concerned about this tour too after seeing some of the videos at YouTube, so I emailed DCL excursions. I was worried that it would not be appropriate for my DD10 (though they allow 10 and up) and I was worried the other adults may not appreciate a kid being on what may be an adult excursion. Anyway, DCL ensured me it would be family friendly, so hopefully that means it will be a little bit lighter on the "booze cruise" aspect!!! At least I am hoping because we really want to experience the beach and show part!!!!

Glad to hear this isnt a booze cruise as I will also be going with my DH and 2 kids and others I am cruising with are also bringing their kids.

I am going on this with my three girls (16, 13, 11 by the time we cruise) . . . I just could not believe that a DCL excursion would ever be a "booze cruise" and it looks really exotic . . .

when do the next set of ressies open up? (75 outers?)

chrissie

I see you got the answer already -- tomorrow night at midnight, Eastern time. It's also the 90 day mark for the 5 night cruise following our cruise . . .

I saw this activity on the Pirate Zone, but no contact information on how to sign up. Is this still happening?

Here's the info from the first post on this thread:
