Wow I'm gone for 1 1/2 and you all put like 30 something pages on - actually - I was inputting some pictures in photobucket to share on the Med thread (July 28) I was on. I put some shots of Pompeii & a few from Rome. I was bored - and the thread was kinda slow - so I got distracted and voila! You guys go to town. ;)

OK - someday I will ketchup! In th meantime, I will continue to upload some pictures if anyone wants to mosey on over your welcome too. I believe this will be an ongoing (read weeks) project so no hurry!

Hey here's a sample - this is Julie's Captain Hook!

OK - So I recycled this one - but I forgot to send Julie these pictures and thought I'd post them here so she'd know I was on the old thread. I found my way home!

Now on to find that shot of Andrew on top of:

Sorry folks - couldn't resist - thanks for bearing with me.

(Andrew - I think I'm going nuts or you have some mighty high connections - I would swear I had a shot of you at the top - buy for some reason - cannot find about 1/2 of those shots I took that day - and your in them someplace - its either mighty high connections for Dr Who travelled back in time and swiped them on your behalf.

We lived on a block wher the city bus would go by all the time. My bestfirend and I got so good at it we could figure out when to throw the egg so it would hit the buses as they slammed into it. We also waited to drop them on bald heads.
Of course now I realize how wrong it was :rolleyes1

wrong, but funny...

Thanks, Roger -- it has to be at least half, right?:rotfl2:

Thanks so much, Laura!!!

I can't wait to see you again, by the way!

Well, this has been a week. So glad it is Friday. Even better...WE HAVE NOTHING GOING ON THIS WEEKEND!!! For the first time since August - no hockey! I think it is great that my kids have found a sport that they love to play, but hockey season is 2x longer than just about any other kid sport. We have about a month until tryouts for next year (everyone can play, tryouts are to sort out house/travel teams).

Maybe I'll actually finish unpacking:eek:

I could fit a lot of bahama mamas, lobster tails, souffle's etc. under this beauty. The latest addition to Omar's spring collection! princess:

Silk-Kaftans4.jpg

Oh, does it come in blue??
So I was totally bummed yesterday. The Ann Taylor dress that I really, really want & I've been visiting once a week on markdown day was finally in what I consider a reasonable price range ($50 - started at $450). The store by my work has always had it in my size. I walked in today, saw the $50 price tag and all they has was Size 0. I'm really bummed, but I just wasn't going to pay $279 for it last week.

Cheryl & Alicia - I need your shopping mojo!

We left Rocky at the Vets overnight to see how he fared. He was still being put in his crate at the time so we really didn't think it would be a big deal But He didn't do well.. I really don't think he was taken care of enough. He loves everyone and loves going to the Vet. :confused3 Then we found a Pet Country Club. The pets have different grades of boarding. Rocky had one with an outside run. Literally he had a small space inside (which was Airconditioned) and a long fenced in run. They took him out 1x a day to run in the yard for an hour and I have to say, he never looked back when we left. He was too busy marking his territory. :lmao: Now here is the sticker shock. $17 a day plus they gave us a senior discount :thumbsup2 .The place truly is a find. Too bad it's here and not in Calif.

This time we are calling on DS to watch him. He did it last year for a few days and it worked out great. It gave DS some company and it makes him get out of his office into the sunlight :lmao:

Hope it works out for you Chris.

$17 would be a bargain around here - but a little high everywhere else we've lived. Around here, the standard indoor/outdoor-not-frills-we'll-feed-them-twice-a-day is almost $30.

We are going the house/pet sitter route. It is actually cheaper and better for Malley.

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:
STOP!! Everytime I start to laugh I try to cough up a lung.
.

I thought someone would appreciate the Peep Reich.

I feel like Crash right now, but I don't get it! :confused3

The Peeps reminded me newsreel footage of marching Nazis. I was looking for the Hitler Peep off to the side.

Now I don't feel all that bad about MY losses in net worth this past year.

Heck, I still remember the excitement of when our net worth rolled to the positive side! Our goal was to actuall have a net worth before we were 30 :)

How'd I do?

Not bad for an Okie. Here's the ones you missed:

Iggle: Eagle, usually the "Giant Iggle", a regional grocery store.
Hoagie: Submarine sandwich. Like Subway, no, nothing like Subway. Best with some chipped chopped ham from Isaly's.
Night Turn: Graveyard shift in other parts of the country.
Gumband: A rubber band
Buggy: Stroller Nope, a shopping cart at the Giant Iggle
An Order (usually at the Giant Iggle): A grocery list.
Jaggers: Thorns (particularly on bushes, known as 'jagger bushes'
Sheetrock: Plasterboard aka drywall
Spicket: Outside Water Faucet any water faucet
Soap Powder: Laundry Detergent
Dish Soap: Dawn any dishwashing liquid, yes
Tossle Cap: ski cap, known as a toque to les canadiens
Sliding Board: Playground slide
Zapper: A Bug Light Remote control for the TV
Stationary Tub: Laundry sink, usually in SW PA, particularly if you have a septic tank, you'd have your washing machine empty into the stationary tub. My mom used to use the water to water her garden rather than sendng it down the drain.

my Dad used to tell us to use the worsh rag, he also used to put gazoline in the car.

My Mom, she shopped at the ac-a-me, bought her straaaberries there. Sometimes, she got her picktures developed there.

don't get me started on the philly warter

Forgot we had someone here from West New Jersey (as opposed to me, from eastern West Virginia). Pennsylvania does seem to have its share of unique language.

did you have to pick up the floor with the sweeper ? (I did)

Yep. I still sometimes tell my kids to 'pick up the floor'. And my smart-add 14-year-old pretends to try to lift the rug.

(I think I've told the story about this being the kid, who when he was five, was banging his truck into the closet door and when I told him to stop banging his truck into the wall, he said "I'm not, I was hitting the door". I spanked his bottom and told him I wasn't hitting him, I was hitting his pants. He's a future lawyer.)

I'm wondering if I can use the ignore list with co-workers ?

Hi, my name is J. R., and I use the block setting on my IM to ignore IMs from obnoxious co-workers who seem to think my only job is to do theirs.

(OK, next member of Blockers Anonymous (a.k.a. Friends of Andrew), please chime in).

Also, Bruce broke up the E-Street band back in 1989 and didn't marry Patti until 1991.

But he was sleeping with her before that. Clarence Clemons was once quoted when asked about why the band broke up: "Should've never let girls join the band" in reference to Patti.

Personally, I don't think she was really Yoko Ono or anything, but I think some people always need someone to blame something on and she was convenient.

And how the heck did we get onto Bruce Springsteen? It's like an ADHD convention in here.
