That's cool - I didn't see that it changed either - Mary gets the gold star for being observant...

It's a BEAUTIFUL day here in GA. I went to the bank & to pick up some lunch. Boy was it hard to come back to work!

Packing List

I hope I can copy and paste...I did it as a Word document, because I was afraid if I typed it all on here, I'd get "Server Busy" just as I hit submit.

Packing List

Clothing:

I’ve found the easiest way to do this is to figure out the dinner nights first:

1) Formal

1) Semi Formal

1) Pirate or Tropical

1) Tropical

3) Casual

Decide each outfit for that night and shoes to go with them. I also try to wear the same color for formal and semi (i.e. black) so that I only pack one pair of dressy shoes/sandals

Then...I know that I will want to change clothes for the clubs at night, so I pack one pair of jeans and two pair of comfortable "excercise"-type pants ...with 3 3/4 length sleeve tops to match.

Sea days: two pair of shorts and t-shirts. Match the shirts with the excercise pants to change into at night (cool on the ship) and have a light sweater or jacket to go over a t-shirt for warmth.

Two (minimum) swimsuits....a swim cover up....and water sandals or flip-flops..and one or two old t-shirts to wear while swimming (on excursions) to avoid sunburn. We take old shirts so that we can just throw them away, rather than bring them home.

Two nightgowns....and slippers

Underclothes

I try to wear one of the excercise pants or jeans on the travel days. Less to pack, and since it’s just travel, they won’t be all that dirty.

Summary:

2 pr shorts

2 -3 t-shirts

2- 3 comfy pants or jeans

2-3 3/4 or long sleeve tops

2 swimsuits, one cover-up and 2 old t-shirts

Tennis shoes (wear during travel...not packed)

Water shoes/flip flops

Dressy shoes

Casual sandals (usually white to go with all casual dinner clothes)

Formal dress

Semi-formal outfit

Pirate dress/out fit

Tropical dress

3 skirts/tops or 3 casual dresses

Underclothes

Nightgowns and slippers

Visor or hats

Belts....for the men, too.....

If you are spending a night in Orlando before the cruise, remember to pack your jammies and the clothes you will want to wear to get on the ship...on the TOP of the other clothes in your luggage, so that you don’t have to "dig" to get at them. Also, keep essential toiletries close at hand.

Remember to have a bag (empty) to keep in the stateroom on the last night of the cruise, after they take your luggage. This will be used to put your pajamas and toiletries into, when you get off the ship. These items can be placed into your checked luggage after you retrieve them in the port terminal.

I take another empty bag...one that folds up into itself (a Baggalini) to use to hand-carry any breakable souvenirs onto the plane.

Carry-on Items:

I have a rolling carry-on that will have:
Pepsi
Entertainment for airplane ...c.d.’s, dvd’s and player, books, etc
Pillow
Cameras
And a Folder that has all of our cruise/travel info in it. Important phone #s and reservation numbers for things like transportation, pre-cruise hotel, etc.

Carry-on Purse or Backpack:

I keep the more personal items in here:

Glasses
Sunglasses
Keys
Wallet
Money
Passports
Medicines
Gum, snacks. Etc

The kids carry a backpack with their own personal items....iPods, cameras, etc.

Medicines, First Aid

Any prescription medications in their own container

Neosporin
Claritin
Benedryl...kids and adults...tablet and a gel is nice to have, too
Bandaids
Liquid Bandaids
Thermometer
Aloe Vera
Cold remedies
Tylenol PM
Tylenol/Advil/Motrin
Bonine
Safe Sea
Insect Repellant
After-Bite or other bug bite relief
Sunscreen and more sunscreen
Mylanta
Immodium
Anti-chafe gel/powder
Baby Powder....helps remove sand from the body
Jelly Fish sting repellant and reliever
Canker sore med
Dental (tooth ache) remedy

Miscellaneous Toiletries:
Makeup/remover
Cotton pads
Magnifying Mirror
Tweezers
Clippers (nail)
Hangnail trimmers
Nail polish and remover pads
Nail files
Feminine Hygiene
Baby Wipes
Hand Sanitizer
Clorox wipes
Eyeglass repair kit

"Obvious" Toiletries:
Toothbrushes/paste
combs/brushes
Hair accessories
Blow dryer/curling iron
Razors/shave gel
Hairspray
Cologne
Deodorant
Shampoo/Conditioner
Skin Lotion
Any items you would pack for any trip

Helpful Extras:
Extension cord for the hard-to-reach plugs in the rooms
Multi-plug (electrical outlet)
Elec plug converter....some of the rooms have a weird (two round plugs) outlet for the vacuums..it’s a handy plug to use as an extra for camera/phone chargers.
Batteries
Safety pins
Small sewing kit
Travel Alarm clock
Laundry tabs/fabric softener
Ziplok bags all sizes....I take the XXXL bags to use as hampers for dirty clothes
Zip ties
Spare glasses/sunglasses (prescription)
Phone chargers, lap top, camera chargers
Water bottle spray fan for hot excursions
Large re-fillable water bottle for excursions...fill with ice and water at the drink station (free!) Thanks Mary for that one!
Snorkel/Dive gear or water goggles for pool
Sticky note pad and pencil (or magnetic pad) to leave notes for eachother in the room
Door stoppers
Night lights
Travel jewelry pouch or case (carry-on jewelry) and suction cup hooks to hang necklaces on the ship...keeps them handy and un-tangled
Small pocket knife (packed luggage)
Duct tape (although you can borrow this from Guest Services if needed)
1 or 2 large coffee mugs with lids...for drink station
Lg manilla envelope for receipts
Lg manilla envelope with cardboard, for pictures purchased at Shutters
Pre-addressed Tip envelopes with the money already inside. You can adjust the amount for extra good service, but this does save time on the last night. I also enclose personalized family "business" cards, so each CM knows who the money came from
Address Labels for baggage tags on the last night...saves a lot of handwriting!
Highlighter for Navigators
Binoculars
Phone Cards
OVER THE DOOR SHOE ORGANIZER for the bathroom items!!!
Sand toys for the kids
Phone or WalMart cards to give CM’s as thank you gifts

Hints and Tips:

Pack lotions, etc in baggies or tape the tops to prevent spills in the luggage

Bring along PLENTY of $1.00 bills for tipping and other small bills for use in port

I keep some ones in the room, handy for room service tipping

Put small items in ziplok bags...cuff links, ties, etc

I use an index card to "list" each night’s clothing for all of us. The kids refer to it so that they don’t wear "good" clothes on a sea day, and end up with "nothing" to wear to dinner.

I pre-mark baggies for the camera cards, batteries and used film, so that I know which ones need charging, which rolls of film are used up, etc.

Don’t Forget:

Disney Rewards Card...you can apply it to your stateroom account
Disney Dollars
Printed Itinerary
TICKETS! Plane, etc.
Credit Cards
Driver License (for any excursion where you may be operating a vehicle...or for car rental)
Health Insurance cards

Sorry that's so big. I tried to go back and edit it three times and it won't let me. Probably would have to edit the size in Word, since I copied and pasted. Oh well.

Revise this list to suit your personal needs, of course.

If anyone has any good ideas to add.....toss them out here!!

See!! :rotfl:

I really don't have to take this kind of abuse!

Here's how the sharp object incident happened:

I was holding a paring knife in my right hand, and the package in my left.
I was trying to cut off one of those plastic "strap" things that they wrap around stuff.
I was just thinking to myself that I should move my arm before I jabbed myself ....when IT happened. I guess that makes me clairevoyant.
I don't know if this was good or bad, but Jared had just shown me that knife, the tip was broken off. I can't decide if the cut would have been deeper, worse, better, whatever...if there had been the sharp tip on it.
But, like I said, I learned my lesson...get the scissors!

Thanks Stacey! Great list. Now I can see why we're going to need more bags.

So is there a pirate night & tropical night? I was under the impression that pirate replaced tropical.

Question though ... does everyone bring such a variety of over-the-counter meds with them? It looks like you plan for any illness that may creep up. DH will think I'm CRAZY  packing all of that stuff. But, then again, this isn't a trip where we can just run to the store to pick something up if we need it.

Nope... not me... I can get by with Aleve, Immodium and Tums.

I don't see "cruise documents" on there. Did I miss it?

Having a doc in the family helps....We take everything for nearly any problem, short of IV fluids... :) If it's not something you *normally* would use, I'd say you could pass on it. Besides, with the sheer number of friends you'll have on the cruise, someone is bound to let you borrow something if you need it!

Here's what we take:

Neosporin YES

Claritin YES, and singulair
Benedryl...kids and adults...tablet and a gel is nice to have, too YES or I don't sleep

Thermometer YES
Aloe Vera YES
Cold remedies YES
Tylenol PM No need....see Benedryl above. :)
Tylenol/Advil/Motrin YES
Bonine YES
Safe Sea YES
Insect Repellant usually to WDW, but we don't if we're only cruising
After-Bite or other bug bite relief YES
Sunscreen and more sunscreen YES
Mylanta NO
Immodium NO
Anti-chafe gel/powder NO
Baby Powder....helps remove sand from the body NO

Bactrim--for potential UTI
Cipro HC--for swimmers ear
Loprox/Lotrimin--for fungal rash
Bactroban--for those things requiring something stronger than Neosporin
3 or 4 different kinds of prescription antibiotics--mostly doctor sample packs
Stethoscope--lungs
Otoscope--ears
Ear Wax scoopers--self explanatory
Monistat--nothing worse than being in the middle of the ocean and scootching across the atrium carpet!
Imitrex--migraines
Vigamox--for eye infections

plus whatever else we might happen to have sitting around here. :)

OMG...LOL....I was AGAIN staring at the penguin sign, and I was going to refresh the page, but instead I went to the next page....and all of a sudden the sign flashes:

Stacey, Can you see it changing??

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :thumbsup2

Cruise documents should have been included in the "Folder" that I keep in my carry-on with all the other phone numbers and ressie numbers. Did I forget the most important thing?? If I did, I would NEED all those drugs!:faint: :faint: :boat: :boat: It would be sailing without me!

thanks for the lists,

Mine is even shorter - take along list of Dis'ers room numbers - they have everything for almost every contigency... :lmao:

(although, I do pack my pocket mask - actually, I have one in each gym bag which has the equipment for the various formats I teach and one of the bags is used as my carry-on so, it just stays in there...)
