I think we have a misunderstanding here.

Matt and Lisa are not on vacation!

They just don't have school for the next couple of days. :rotfl:

Yes, and I'm pretty sure they know the difference. Vacation is when you get up reeeeeally early to get Mom to the cruise terminal.

I've been missing a lot here! Sounds like a busy time of year for everyone. I've been up to my ears in work, really trying to make a dent in the inventory. Kevin taking pictures really helps.

Alicia is rehearsing night and day it seems for a show called Nutcracker on the Rocks. Have I talked about it before? Anyway, it's loosely based on the traditional Nutcracker, the music is rock, the dance style is modern. She loves it, has made lots of new friends, and she's exhausted all the time. Nine hour rehearsals on Sundays, about five hours on Saturdays, and this month, several hours a night. Plus tech rehearsals next week, which will be 5-11 Mon, Tues, Wed. Then five days of shows, most two a day. She wants to do it again next year, I'm thinking let's see how the grades are doing first!

We will be glad when it is over, anyway.

AMAZINGLY SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES ***

1. A mousetrap, placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.

2. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives, then you will be afraid to cough.

3. Clumsy ? Avoid cutting yourself while slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them while you chop away.

4. Avoid arguments with the Mrs. About lifting the toilet seat by simply using the sink.

5. For high blood pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed for three minutes, thus reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember to use a timer.

6. Have a bad headache? Smash your thumb with a hammer and you will forget about the headache.

Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are:

You only need two tools:

WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape. When all else fails, toss down a good shot of whiskey and take a nap.

Remember:

Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

Never pass up an opportunity to go to the bathroom.

If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get another chance.

Matt and Lisa have the whole week off too.

Matt gets to take Sharon's car in for service on Monday. My car goes in on Tuesday. He gets to hook up the new printer.

Lisa goes to work with Sharon on Monday and Tuesday. With me on Wednesday.

They will be looking forward to going back to school. :rotfl:

Hey everyone this is Little Gymnast. My dad is so funny. Yea, my brother and I are soooooooooooooo looking forward to going back to school. But I have to get used to it if I want to be a doctor. I figure I don't want to be ANCIENT by the time I get my MD. Don't ask want kind cause I have nooo clue. :rotfl2:

Geeze...poor Lisa! Some vacation. Send her up here...she can clean and help cook. Does she eat cranberry sauce? :teeth:

It's Little Gymnast again. Yea I get lots of vacations. I really don't want to cook and clean when I actually GET a vacation. No I do not eat cranberry sauce but I do make and eat Pumpkin Pudding. I have to admit it is pretty good. We get to do homework over our vacation though so that's great fun. HEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bye Bye!

Sounds like fun.....The Nutcracker that is....the rehearsal schedule is brutal.

Perhaps good grades can be rewarded by a "cruise"!!!!! (hint.....)

Hey, a U-TOP with Alicia and Diana.....

PDFG and all who need an extra dose this Thanksgiving week.

St. Thomas was ever so wonderful and relaxing, I can't wait to share...
We drove to Miami to board a non-stop flight....less opportunity for mishap with the dive gear. It was veterans day so we watched the ceremonies whilst waiting. I wondered why the President was one hour late, until I realized I had not set back my watch (duh). Only had to reset it forward when we boarded.

The flight was smooth, rental car check-in, baggage pick-up not a problem. We checked into the hotel, Island Beachcomer.....sorry - must rely on internet photos for this Day Report....

And then off to the Blue Island Divers to drop off the gear. THANKS AGAIN KEVIN - they were so good to us. They set up, rinse and store gear each day, no lugging to the hotel shower.....

By now, we are starving, so what better place than the local Tiki Bar which is a stone's throw from the dive shop.....From Frommers: "This joint is dedicated to the concept of fun, comfort, and reasonably priced food in a friendly atmosphere. Diners at this open-air restaurant can sit back and relax while watching the sailboats and cruise ships on the water." We did look for the MAGIC, as we were here on her last year....

Then after a few staples for the hotel room, and checking out the hotel's TIKI Bar and Gator football game, it was time for a snooze. The ONLY problem with diving is that you must get up early and limit the consumption of adult beverages....

Day Two was the start of the dives........

Later...

Hi Irene! Glad you're back!! Can't wait to here about your stay on St Thomas. Did you get over to St John? Us gals really liked it over there. Wish I could afford a vacation home there.

Well....home from the doctor. No broken bones. Next time, I'm just mailing a check to Virgil and by-passing all the muckety-muck. What I did do was damage the tendon that runs from the base of the thumb, up the arm, I guess to the elbow. It has a name, but I didn't write it down. So I have to wear a brace for a minimum of 3 weeks, have physical therapy, & take ibuprofen for the inflammation. I see him again next Tuesday for more xrays, and then again at the end of the 3 weeks to go from there. He may do cortisone injections, or it could possibly need surgery, but that's doubtful. Depends on how the next 3 weeks go. :sad2:

Well... you do have my home address.......

Either one of the extensor pollicis tendons (back of the hand) or the flexor pollicis tendons (palm of the hand)...

Hopefully you're appointment is early next Tuesday.... ;)

Stacey - glad to hear that you didn't break it. Hopefully the brace and the drugs will help.

I might have been better off if I had broken it. But....and I think the doctor thought I was crazy....I got all excited....at least now, I'll still be able to snorkel in December! I have my priorities!;)
