The only negative is the bus to the Magic Kingdom. But you can hop on the MK bus at the Boardwalk resort. The bus to the Animal Kingdom isn't a Disney but, but it takes you as close as, if not closer, than the Disney buses. Plus that bus stop has actual cover and seating.

Also note that when the Friendship Boats are down due to low water, mechanical issues or inclement weather, the magical character wrapped Disney Transport buses replace the boats for service to DHS and EPCOT.

the boats closing for storms is a pain. I've never had a problem with them having low water, that seems more of an issue at the POR resorts.

I don’t recall Crescent Lake ever having that issue. That and the Sassagoula River are two very different waterways.

Pros:
-Marriott points (for some)
-Usually lower cost than deluxe disney (outside of OKW, SS, perhaps AK) - and renting points.
-Deluxe benefits such as evening hour access.
-Location, if want to walk ~15 mins or boat to Epcot/HS
-Restaurants are pretty solid - and have crescent lake options

Cons:
-Theming - If you are used to any other deluxe or moderate Disney hotel, you will be disappointed with the lack of theming. If one of your favorite things about going to WDW is the 'Disney bubble', I wouldn't stay here.
-Parking fees - 38 bucks per night. If had a car for a long trip, I wouldn't stay here.


I've stayed here for a couple nights only on a split stay to get extra evening hours on the assigned days. It has it's benefits, but the lack of theming has it way down my list....but if you are used to staying off property, this is still a big upgrade.

Don't forget the current $50 per/night Resort fee but unless there is a convention your average cost per/night is going to be lower than a Disney deluxe. Yes theming has a value but at what cost.
