Hi Irene! Glad you're back!! Can't wait to here about your stay on St Thomas. Did you get over to St John? Us gals really liked it over there. Wish I could afford a vacation home there.

Well....home from the doctor. No broken bones. Next time, I'm just mailing a check to Virgil and by-passing all the muckety-muck. What I did do was damage the tendon that runs from the base of the thumb, up the arm, I guess to the elbow. It has a name, but I didn't write it down. So I have to wear a brace for a minimum of 3 weeks, have physical therapy, & take ibuprofen for the inflammation. I see him again next Tuesday for more xrays, and then again at the end of the 3 weeks to go from there. He may do cortisone injections, or it could possibly need surgery, but that's doubtful. Depends on how the next 3 weeks go. :sad2:

Hi Stacey - Didn't I tell you to STOP WITH THE ACCIDENTS - Glad there is nothing broken, but what a time of year to be hurt......Let's hope the PT works and there is no need for "cutting".....

Poor Stacey :sad2:

I might have been better off if I had broken it. But....and I think the doctor thought I was crazy....I got all excited....at least now, I'll still be able to snorkel in December! I have my priorities!;)

Uh - huh.....love this guy

Ouch....I really dont want to hear that! About a week before our cruise this past Sept I stepped into a pothole at work, and twisted my ankle. I was a bit tender but once on board everything seemed fine. Now all of a sudden I am realizing that it still hurts when I catch it a certain way. The most noticeable is when I am on a ladder at work and I have to step on that foot only...........I keep hoping it will go away on its own....

Et tu Amanda? No accidents before cruises.....Repeat after me, no accidents before cruises....

I'm going to ask this question...just WISHING that I could see the look on the faces of our gourmet cooks (and eaters!) out there....

Have you guys seen the frozen turkeys, I think by Jennie-O, that are 100% ready-to-cook, just remove from bag, place in oven? All seasoned, no thawing.....
I think my people could handle making one of those!

Would not work for Sam....He is a turkey "snob". We shopped for ours and he had the meat manager taking all the turkeys out of the boxes. Did I say he was there the moment they came off the truck? A repeat of last year, a natural, Kosher Empire brand - oh, yummy - he cooks it on the grill. Almost 19 pounds for 3 people.....that's about right!!!

And I agree with Stacey.....being 40 is only a number. I'm going to be old some day. I can't stop that, but I'm not going to grow old! :dancer:

Jim - I'm with you - not going there - not ever.......

"I don't wanna grow up".........Not gonna - can't make me....(pluuuuph)

Anyone see Peter Pan around????

Hi Everybody,

Stacey - Hope the phone call to the Ortho Dr. goes the way you want it to. I just went to mine and I am now wearing a "ski boot" to see if the arthritis in my ankle gets any better. Oh yeah, I'm taking an anti-inflammatory also. Gotta wear this thing for a month and if it doesn't work, surgery to "fuse" this one joint in my ankle. Then 6 weeks off my ankle. Can you say "housekeeper"? It really stinks getting old ya know. The ole bones ain't what they used to be......:confused3

Wooo woooo!!! a T.O.P. with Stacey and our old bones!!!!

Maria - you too???? Take care there --- as I am reading backwards, I hope that all is better now....A month - and over the Holidays......Bad luck.... :grouphug:

Back from a weekend at camp with 18 teenagers. No, it wasn't as painful as it might sound...actually, we had a great time- they are really good kids. Managed to get almost 6 hours of sleep each night- which is a major accomplishment with 14 of us in one room. But, the Vegas jet-lag set in around Saturday afternoon... thank God for caffeine!!!!

While Elizabeth and I were gone, Ray's finger and the electric hedge clippers had a little altercation... he's still got all 10 fingers, but one is now split down the middle and sewed back together... ICK! Thankfully, he's not cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year. Stacey- hope you can find a sous chef!!!!!!

Poor Ray ---- Icky- and sounds painful......Must have a medicinal beer....Please give him our best.....

Now seriously guys, I was only gone for one week and we have had 4 accidents and trips.....TAKE CARE OUT THERE.......no slipping on the ice, no cutting digets off hands, no tripping.........Please - honest - I mean it!!!!!

Greetings all - reporting in from our hotel in Novi, MI. What a fun day. Started early as we began our trek in Cindy's day car van! Got to the hotel and Gail and John were right behind us so all three families were able to check in before heading over to the mall. How wonderful to see all our Michigan friends again! Had a good meet and then headed over to Carabbas to meet up with even more DIS friends. Then back to the hotel so the kids could swim.

We showed off our circle journals and talked about scrapbooking for a bit. Saw a number of Curt's pictures from the cruise and Disney after. Most of all we laughed and had a great time. The party is still going on but I'm beat. We're meeting up for breakfast in the morning then heading home.

Glad you had a great time Mary - time for me to work on my vacation scrapebook..... :artist:

WHEW - all caught up - sorry if I missed anybody......

Must go and find the warm clothes for our COLD (brr) weather in S. Florida....how do you northerners manage it all winter.....

Wind Chill is 38-43.......

It is 45 degrees............

(That's lower than 50 KEVIN!)

Time for morning chores and early meetings (at least they are in town).

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Tuesday!

Good Morning All!

Hovering right around freezing in Houston too - It feels somewhat like a northern Thanksgiving!

I discovered the benefits of a lap top - snuggled under the covers with a cup of coffee DISing... :goodvibes -

John took the rest of the week off - so, the kids don't have to tag along with me - I'm sure they're heartbroken.

We watched the Charlie Brown specials last night - the new one "He's a Bully, Charlie Brown" was o.k. didn't have the magic I remember...Maybe I'm jaded

I'm a lot more than jaded.

None of CS's kids have that.. spark of fun he did in putting the Peanuts characters out there.

In sarcasm, I think they must be running low on money again. Anyone remember the 'new' one they ran a few years back and has never been seen again?

If it was a joint celebration, why didn't I get to go to St. Thomas??? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Hope Sam had a great birthday!

Let's see ... welcome back Irene ... Stacey, glad nothing is broken ... Congrat to Nick on another part ... Sorry to KT ... Congrats to Monica ... I'm sure I missed some other congrats in there ... so congrats to everyone that needs a pat on the back for a job well done!!!

Ang

Look at that ... A U.T.O.P. with just about everyone!

For all of you gadget guys, can any of you help me? I heard an ad on the radio this a.m. for Bose in-ear headphones (http://www.bose.com/inear). Does anyone know/think if they are worth $100? Can earbuds really make that much of a difference? If they are that good, I thought they might make a nice gift for Bruce for his I-pod.

I saw that the Thanksgiving one was coming on so I Tivod it. Saw that the Bully one followed and didn't tape it. I stick to the classics. I've never been so happy with the "new" stuff.

We did watch the Thanksgiving one and it brought back memories....
And of course, I had to tell the kids about when I was a kid and if you missed it on the night it was on....TOO BAD....the was no Tivo, there were no DVD's...heck, there weren't even videos!!!

And we're having a heat wave, wondering if Fall is ever really coming! Still in the 80's.
Too warm for me to be wearing jeans....but I can't shave my legs! :guilty:
