It may look pretty but it is ugly to be driving in. I have a very short commute to work and I wanted to turn around. You can't see driving in it. Yuck. Well I'm here now and have something for lunch so I can stay in safe and dry. It should be pretty much out of the area by the time I head home.

Have tried some new things this trip. O'hana for dinner (loved it) Boma for dinner (would have gone away hungry if not for the desserts!) Doing lots of pin trading. Crowds are light.

Will try to check in again, but if not, I'll catch ya'll when I get home.

Happy Thursday!

Looks like we have a winter storm headed our way. Only time will tell how much snow we'll get but we'll get something.​

Thanks to your storm, our plane (coming from Chicago to Las Vegas, then on to Phoenix) was over 3 hours late. We were supposed to leave at 11:20, and instead left at a little after 2 p.m.!
I was sitting there telling Jay..."I hope Mark and Mary are okay. But I curse Chicago right now!!"
It's funny, because we never even think of weather delays going between here and Vegas.

So, yes...we're home. Had a great time....good food, good friends....play a little, spend a lot....at least the room and food were free. Went to see the Cirque show "O" on Wednesday night....stunning! All in all a great trip.
Pretty cold up there, though.


Still haven't seen my kids yet. Jordan's performing at the basketball half-time, Jared and Megan went to a movie. Oh well.

Ever since the 10 Night Christmas cruise, when I was introduced to Banfi, I've looked on wine lists for it, checked the coolers at stores and at the stores and room service and hotel menus in Vegas. Zip, zilch, nada.

This time, I don't know why I looked....but I did, and I SCORED!! They carry it in the gift shop cooler at the Mirage. Granted, it was $41.....but I got all my room charges comped....so I guess it was sort of free........sure hit the spot!

I got a new computer and decided to try some new software to migrate the files and programs from the old one to the new one. It's been transfering files now for 12 hours and it's still not done, whewww!! Lots of stuff.

Can't wait to start using it with Photoshop since that's where the old one really bogged down. Went from a 866Mhz processor with 256mb of RAM to a 3.2Ghz processor with 4GB of RAM!! It's smoking.......


For Virgil, I SERIOUSLY looked at the Apple, but similar system, it would have been over $1000 more...... Wow! I do like their stuff though, maybe next upgrade.

Sharon and I head to south Florida today. I'm running a marathon in the morning.

The kids are staying home alone tonight. They are both in a parade tomorrow.

My only concern about them staying home tonight is that our neighbor Mike is also along tonight. His wife is out of town. They are going to his house for dinner. It's like having three kids loose.

It's officially Christmas, Maggie has her 1st nutcracker performance this afternoon. Time to get out the hair "cement" to keep her incredibly thick hair from escaping it's bun. She's one of the Chinese Dancers - I so nicely volunteered John to be a "stage dad" - her studio will travel the show to an assisted living center, special-abled independent living comunity, a orphanage and then the studio Christmas party - Dads are needed to set up and tear down.

I bet the look on my face at the airport gate was priceless! I came bopping up, knowing we had a good hour of "safe time"....and I looked at the board, and it said "Delayed...Est departure 1:45" I did a triple-take! We honestly never expect to see that! I asked the gal at the desk, and she said "The plane is coming from Chicago".....as if that should explain everything to me.....and it still isn't clicking in my brain. So I said "And.......?????" and she looked at me as if I had just landed from Mars. "Bad weather"
WELL.......I've been in Vegas, sweetie....I don't watch TV or listen to the news........how was I supposed to know?


Waiting in the airport wasn't that bad since I'd actually gotten some sleep on this trip.....and I won $300 playing a nickel slot there!
