$31 rental for a double stroller.

honestly for any trip that is at least 7-10 days it would be cheaper to rent a car than a double stroller. rent the car, fly down with your stroller and toss it in the trunk of the car while driving back and forth to the parks.

holy cow - i thought the price of the scooters was out of hand. (that price went up too - next year my MIL will be renting one offsite, much cheaper.)

Maybe Disney is doing this to decrease the amount of people who rent the strollers? Like a traffic control thing?

I was thinking about that too. Could be both the money thing and that.

I wonder though how many people will choose not to rent a stroller and go without because of this though? (And they don't bring their own double.) Seems like eventually most people do what they want/need to do regardless of money, once they get over feeling upset with WDW..or even before that.

I think this will make us think twice about renting in cases where we have a bit of choice in the matter. But we will have no choice in some cases, like in Epcot. We need a double there.

That price increase is insane!!! My oldest (yes, he is six so don't shoot me because he likes to ride in a stroller at WDW and it keeps his 2 yr. old brother content too so we are all happy) is too tall for a normal umbrella stroller so renting one was our only nice option. I do not want to fork out that much for a hard stroller that will probably get swiped before the end of the day anyway by someone that doesn't want to pay that much.

I didn't fuss too much when they seriously downsized Dad's Super Sundae at 50's PT, I didn't complain too loudly when they started selling soooo many tickets to the hard-ticket events, I didn't cry when they raised resort/ticket prices, didn't cry over spilt ice cream when they downsized the waffle cones (come on, how much can that really save?!?!), but this chaps my tush. I really feel for people that fly into WDW, at least we drive and can pack at least one stroller.

There is nothing wrong with that
We spent 8 days in Disney and Universal this past Nov and we
rented a stroller every single day for my 4 yr old son and my 6 yr
old son had no problem jumping in whenever he needed a rest
It's a lot of walking for little ones
I just can't believe they raised the cost that much. How can they
expect people to pay that much?

That price increase is a slap in the face. I haven't rented a car lately but I know I have rented a car at that price a few years back. I'm seriously thinking about switching my next trip to Universal and IOA.

There's only so much I can take.:headache:

Wow, this is UNBELIEVEABLE. They should be ashamed of themselves. Walt would be turning over in his grave. Soon only the elite will be able to afford to visit for more than a couple of days. I am lucky enough that we will be in the parks tomorrow, so I will just make it in time to get a length of stay rental. We don't get strollers for every day, just if we plan to stay everyday and never for MGM, since it's condensed than the other parks.

just trying to remember.....you used to get $ back when you turned your stroller back in. i remember getting disney dollars back. do they still do that? i don't recall getting anything back when renting last year.

if they still do - is the prices they are quoting (in effect on the 6th of april) before or after that "rebate"?

again, still sticking by my above comment.....we always toy with and usually do rent a car. this just locks that decision. rent the car, bring a stroller from home and throw it in the trunk of the rental car.

I only needed a single stroller this time coming up but usually rent a double for my boys to ride in with there sister. I went to Target and bought the MAC for $99 for my single rider and my boys will just have to hoof it - they are 7 & 9 so not really a problem except my 9 y/o has low muscle tone so he complains when he has to walk a lot. I think stroller rental is soon to be a thing of the past!!

More people will bring their own and then there will be a bigger traffic problem on the buses.

I think I have just decided no stroller rental for us.... we will just take a longer break... I cant pay that much... that is a heck of a nice stroller to buy for that kind a money... or maybe I will throw our umberella stroller on the plane for thoe few times my daughter will want to ride... this is crazy

There is going to be a whole lot of very angry people over the next couple of weeks who planned their trip months ago and have no idea about the price change. I would hate to work at the stroller rental.

I tried to send an e-mail using the link provided, and it came back as service unavailable. Looks like my sister's youngest will be hoofin it at Epcot next month. By b-i-l wouldn't spend the $18 for a stroller for her last time, so I got her one. $31 is out of the question!

I'd rather deal with headache of carrying our double stroller down there and on the buses than give Disney $31 a day for those cheap pieces of plastic.

Shame on them.

Well, my poor 4 y/o twins will have to WALK !!! :headache: I was planning on renting a double stroller for the length of our stay, but that's CRAZY !! I could see a $5 price hike, but please $14 more -- YIKES! I guess I'll be doing a lot of carrying!

I'm going to send an email too ... not that it will do much good for our trip in 15 days, but maybe for someone else's trip.

Now with more people bringing their own strollers, the buses will be more crowded.

Can someone who has sent an email post what they wrote and we can send the same message.

For those who planned to rent, why don't you just bring your own? We've done it the past 2 trips and didn't experience any major problems. Worst part is getting it through security at the airport.

We had a huge one that we couldn't fit on a bus. Luckily, we had a rental car last trip. We decided, save $500 on the rental car, and take $130 of that to buy a much more compact double stroller that will fit on the bus.

Now with more people bringing their own strollers, the buses will be more crowded.

Good point.

Which in turn means more people will rent cars, and spend more time off of Disney property.

Not all decisions Disney makes are good ones.

Now they are going to be getting a lot of people who buy the cheap stollers and leave them there what a waste! Maybe the prices are higher because the price of gas is so high :rotfl2: That's what they say at the coffee shop every time they raise the prices...Or maybe they are hoping people will just buy the one they had for sale in ALL the stores when I was there last?
It's just crazy I will be sending an email along with the others. Good luck to those who are going soon.

Wow.. I'm disgusted at this price increase. There is no way I'm going to shell out that much at the parks. Disney should be ashamed of themselves.

We're bringing our stroller with us for our 3 year old now!
