When Are Kidani Rooms Being Updated?

I am sure they do not want to brighten up the rooms too much. If they are too bright, can't it impact the animals at night?

They have lights pointing at the savannah on top of the buildings all throughout the night. Decor in the room buildings isn't going to make any difference on light ambience to what Disney already does themselves.

I did not remember that. I thought that the savannah was dark so you could do the night goggles

It kind of surprised me the first time I stayed there. I sometimes sit out on my balcony late at night and read / watch animals. Once your eyes adjust, you can see the animals pretty easily. The buildings have roof-top lights that never come off during the night. Also, you'll sometimes see empty rooms with the curtains pulled open and lights are left on.

It's not lit up like Fantasyland or anything but they do have some lights on the savanna.

My wish list is for them to upgrade the studio with the little bed under tv so they can sleep 5.

I sure hope they do this! Would feel totally left out if they did it at all of those other resorts and then not here. I wonder when we'll get confirmation on this?

Does anyone know if the grand villas are typically updated toward the beginning or end of the refurbishment? We’re considering one for a special occasion in March 2026 and am wondering what the odds might be of getting an updated room.

Since the GVs are spread out through the resort, some will probably be done early on and others not until near the end of the refurbishment.

Jambo House will not be refurbished until Kidani Village is done.

well, if it’s anything like the “hard goods” referb that they just did at the Grand Californian, where all they did was add Murphy beds and change the flooring.. they could potentially start the refurbishment in September and finish it in December.

Last they have heard at K-Club is that the Jambo refurbishment will start around October of 2026…

That news would be extremely disappointing, if true. I think the latest expectations of most is Kidani starts in October, 2025 and finishes maybe March/April, 2026. At that time, Jambo would begin and take a couple months to complete. But since there's been nothing official and no real updates for awhile, makes me wonder if cast members might have better info! I'm really hoping the entire resort has the DVC refurbs done long before October of 2026 - but I have lots of hopes for Disney that don't always work out!

I’ve always figured it would be a year, if we’re lucky. The board said at the condo meetings last Dec. that Kidani would start in Oct. 2025 & finish in July or August 2026, after which they’d move on to Jambo. https://dvcnews.com/dvc-program-men...tion-club-refurbishment-schedule-through-2026
However, I’m expecting Kidani will run longer than the board predicted based on how long BWV’s refurb took - which was over a year, & BLT - which began in 9/24 & is expected to run through 9/25.
I expect Jambo won’t take as long since it’s much smaller than Kidani.
