I plan on giving more details on our US/IOA and WDW trip, but need to catch up with laundry, etc...and unfortunately back to work tomorrow (but at least it's Friday). My hubby, kids and I had a blast...what a trip...and it was only scheduled about 10 days before departure!! One piece of info right now...can you believe I snagged a Saturday Le Cellier lunch reservation the night before we left (Tuesday)??

Teena, I'm so sorry to hear about your latest health setback...hugs and prayers to you. It wasn't the same walking through the BC lobby without seeing you there!

:surfweb:Whew! I finally made it through the whole thread. Lots of good reading. Thank you to everyone who posted, questions and answers and info. I have stayed at the BC a few times, but reading this was very informative (and entertaining);). I had booked a bounce back trip for Oct as a solo trip and now my dd has decided to come with her 2 small children:grouphug:. I'm sure this will be fun and exciting but I could use any advice and tips you could give me. My concerns are the weather (never been in the fall) and the crowds(food and wine)I had booked water/pool view and have now requested a crib, from Oct 23 to 30 although I have to modify that to 24th to 30th.
I would also like to send my best wishes to Teena. I was greeted by you a number of years ago and instantly felt welcome. I, too, have had a terrible year :sad2: . Lets pray for strength and "a great big beautiful tomorrow".

We participated in the noodle swap and would like everyone to know there is also a small bag of beach toys that come along with the five noodles.

Oh those Noodles! It's always a party when they're around huh?

Thanks for the noodle update and I have to complement everyone who is involved because you are all doing such a great job, especially communicating with each other and sharing!

:grouphug:

Marlton Mom, who is posting live from Pittsburgh Pa, here for her Niece's wedding! My 12 year old son is in the wedding!!

Teena, I hope everything is OK for you.

I'm still waffling about upgrading to CL. Are the rooms quieter than the regular hotel? In my Unofficial Guide, they aren't thrilled with how quiet the BC/YC rooms are.

We did not hear a thing from anywhere when we were on club level. One thing that was good with CL, you are on the top floor so there is no chance of little feet running around above you.

Glad to hear it!!! Can't wait for more details. :)

I have a question about SAB. Since it has a lazy river can you rent tubes there? If so - how much are they? Thanks!

Last I knew, tube rental is $3 for an hour or $10 all day.

We have special agents who will be at the pool in the next week or so, and they can confirm that is still the going price (you know who you are... ;)

Life jackets for little ones are also available, free of charge.

Hopefully, this will put some smiles on everyone's faces:

Breaking News- Lily likes her baths now!

Let's all hope Teena will have a chance to learn that in person in a few weeks!

She's just adorable!! Absolutely put a smile on my face. Thanks for that excellent early morning update.

Teena - feel better soon. :)

Earlier, there was a question on room to room noise -- club level specific. I find YC Cl less noisy than other non-5th floor YC rooms. The only weird noise I've ever had in YC room was from above you, sometimes kids "upstairs" playing (my guess is bed jumping because that actually is fun on vacation, although not recommended:thumbsup2) was louder than you'd expect. But since CL is on top floor, not the case. And once we had a drunk dialer arguing with a friend sitting on the balcony next to us -- but that's not really YC specific. (She sure was loud though. :rotfl:)

Can you bring your own swimmies?

Can you bring your own swimmies?

Here is the answer from Page 1 of this thread (in the Stormalong Bay section):

According to a lifeguard, July 2010:
Outside floats are not permitted for adults in SAB. Pool noodles, either from home or purchased at the pool gift shop, may be used in SAB. Young children may use floats that surround their body if an adult is within arm's reach. These rules are subject to change and may be affected by crowd conditions.

As far as I know, this information has not changed. This response does not specifically address swimmies (if you are talking about the arm floats). I think they are ok, if a parent is nearby, but my kids are older, so I don't have direct experience.

Anyone have positive or negative response to the use of swimmies at SAB?

Thanks!

natebenma what a beautiful picture. Sure do miss those times with my DS15. But I have to say we still have great times with him.

Ok this may sound like a really silly question, but you said that Teena will have a chance to see Lily in a few weeks. Please forgive me but I must have missed something along the way. Is this precious little one related to Teena?

Teena, sending you lots of :grouphug::grouphug: and sure hoping that you are feeling better.

Arriving at YC tomorrow for 10 days!!!! Woot woot!!!!!!

Have a Magical trip!!!!!

We always order the photopass CD it is a great bargain...last year we did the CD & Book and let me tell you it was worth every penny

We're checking into the YC on Tues and can't wait, thanks for all the info on here :)
One question - what's he best way for us to get to MK for an early ADR? Our ADR is at 8.05 but MK has EMH so is also open at 8.00. I've got no idea how long it might take or what time buses start running from!

Dr. took more blood this morning. Cultures so far from hospital on Wednesday still are not showing anything definitive. He put me on a 3 day antibiotic and said with pain meds I should be able to try work Sunday and Monday and to fly on Tuesday. In the meantime if blood work today or cultures show anything he might have to change up the meds accordingly. I'm still experiencing lots of leg pain but I'm happy since it looks like I'll be able to get back to work (can't wait - I miss my lobby so much) and I'll be able to get to Jeanne's. Nanny's coming Lily!! After a c-section and the emotional time of leaving Lily in daycare for the first time, it will be good to be able to help Jeanne get the classroom ready plus be there for the first week of school.

Thanks everybody for all the good wishes and prayers. You have no idea how much my Dis friends here have helped me through this year with the breast cancer and kidney problems. You've kept me going at times when I was so down. Thank you so much!!! Hopefully this is the last of it and when it finally goes away, I'll start building up my strength again so I can do my Disney cruises and frequent trips to Nevada. Can you actually believe that I haven't been to my favorite place in the world - Castaway Cay - in 2011?

Well if that isn't incentive to feel better then I don't know what is!! Here's hoping that this latest episode was the beginning of the end and that it is only better (MUCH better) going forward! :wizard:

Lily is my first grandchild. Jeanne is my only child. They live in Las Vegas where Jeanne is a second grade school teacher. Hopefully I'll be flying out as planned on Tuesday. Thanks so much for the good wishes. Like I said earlier, you guys have helped me through so much this year. :grouphug:

If (and with what has been going on with me medically that's a huge IF lately) things go according to plan, I'll be back at work on 9/4 (I fly home from Jeanne's on 9/3). My normal work schedule is only Sundays and Mondays. Hope to get to meet you on 9/11 or 9/12!!!

Question: we're booked in a standard-view CL room at the YC in November. Does anyone have a photo of the view from that type of room? Or can point me in the direction to one? Thank you! :)
