Mickeymousehouse club - Walking directions for a Hess Beerrun from Beach Club. As you exit from the BC lobby toward the boardwalk, you will see the Boardwalk Inn across the lake. Turn left and follow the sidewalk around the lake to the Boardwalk Inn. You will pass the ESPN club and some other shops and restaraunts. There will be an alcove on your left to walk back to the Boardwalk Inn. Walk into the alcove, stay to the left and go up a flight of stairs (You are still outside) Now you are in the front of the Boardwalk. You will see a road taking you down a hill and the Hess Station is directly across the street. I have taken luggage to make the return trip easier but thinking your group of young men will not have any problems carrying the beer back. We also pick up some snacks and usually some wine as they have incredibly reasonable prices. Another option is a new service which we haven't used but I found a link in another post. The service is www.beerrun.biz

Thanks for the awesome directions! I never new the Hess station was so close. Perhaps we will give it a try this time around.

Have a great trip and if you could, would you or some one else maybe let me know if you have to use change for the laundry machines or can you use your hotel card and charge it to the hotel bill. If it's change.... is it dollar bills or quarters?

Thank you so much and I hope time slows down for you so you can really savor your vacation.

Here is some sunshine and cool temperature wishes as well.... pixiedust:

Unless the machines have been updated since last July, I know that it was quarters only... the change machine in the laundry room was broken, so I had to go back to the Marketplace to get change.....

YC/BC opened fall 1990.

I first stayed there in 1993 -- it was very different looking then -- they were still building Boardwalk, which was quite the project -- and fascinating to watch go up. And later the BCV, also fascinating to watch go up.

I love the way it turned out!:thumbsup2

We first stayed @ the BC in 1994 on our Disneymoon.... I remember seeing the construction for the Boardwalk from the YC/BC back then-loved how it all turned out! :)

Of course, after that first stay there in 1994(I grew up staying at Ft. Wilderness w/ my parents), DH and I were hooked.... the YC/BC are the only resorts we've stayed at since! :rotfl:

About to head down no (OMG WE'RE HERE STILL DOESN'T FEEL REAL)

Photos of the Solarium will come when we get back.
Hot tub is open until midnight and all ages (though small children must be accompanied and if in diapers must be wearing swim diapers )

SO SO SO SO SO thankful to all the advice we've gotten off Dis so far, smooth sailing!

I switched from POR to the BC . I am now inside 50 days and counting , booked water view with a full balcony request . I am also traveling solo any
ideas where I may be placed ? Just curious I know its Disney and that is the
most important thing .

Not sure about your room, but wanted to say that I'm sure you will have a fabulous trip! There is so much to do in the whole YC/BC Boardwalk area.:goodvibes

You can use change no mechanism seen to bill to room. There was some previous discussion that high efficiency detergeant is needed. I decided not to take soap and get it there because of that. The machines by the quiet pool did not say that you needed high efficiency soap even though they are front loaders. Soap was $1.00 in the laundry and $2.00 in Marketplace. $2.00for wash & $2.00 for dryer.

All 500 or so of our Seniors returned from WDW, having had the time of their lives.

Thank you so much!
I really believe this is the best thread on all of the DIS!!!!

This afternoon is my Mom's surgery - please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Praying all went well today with your moms surgery

Waaaaa!! I've been way too busy with work this past week and am so far behind that I simply cannot read all posts. :guilty:

I hope everyone who was ailing is feeling better - and prayers to you all.

All you who have come back from your trip = Welcome Back and hope you had an awesome time. Those there right now - enjoy!

Okay, who did I miss?? :lmao:

Unfortunately, I'm mighty busy still but will try to keep up here. If you don't mind slowing it down, I'd appreciate it. :rolleyes1

Our family will be staying for the 1st time a BCV August 16-20, and then moving to AKV Kidani. We splurged and used all our 2011 pts and all of our 2012 pts to make this happen. Our kids have been dying to go to SAB!

Hi everyone! Quick message to say: Marlton Mom & Dee---ya'll are cracking me up w/ your recent posts. I neeeeed to escape this crazy life I've been living and have some serious R & R. Devin is recovering well and has been a complete and utter champ with organizing how he'll catch up on his school work. We go back to the orthopedic for a check up on Thursday afternoon.

Happy (late) mother's day to all of my DIS friends!!! I had a wonderful day w/ my parents and inlaws, then relaxed w/ the hubby and kids and played board games. At about 7 pm our dogs (a golden doodle and mini schnauzer) started barking like crazy. My 8 year old son, Jonah, looked out back and screamed to my husband---Dad, something's on fire! I was in my bedroom (looking at pics of Beach club and reading reviews and trip reports----sigh) so I didn't hear a thing. Hubby goes outside and sees a ton of smoke billowing from our 2011 Toyota Sienna!!!:scared1: He runs back inside, grabs the keys and moves it to the front of our house. We called a friend who is a w/ the fire department to find out what to do and he and the fire truck came right over. Long story short, there was an electrical short related to an aftermarket hitch (the previous owner had it installed, we bought it certified pre-owned and did not know it was not a Toyota hitch) and whoever installed it, wired it the wrong way somehow. The fire department cut the smoldering piece out and disabled the battery. Toyota dealership towed it in this morning. I will get it back this week. Thank God for our dogs/ my alert son/ my hubby's quick thinking. Thank God it did not happen during the night. The smoldering piece was right by the gas tank and the garage is right by Devin's bedroom.

I ask God to bless over all my DIS friends who are going through tough times still. I have been enjoying all the mini-trip reports and funny banter. It is so hard to believe that we'll be there next Friday!!!! I was starting to lose the excitement of the whole trip because I had obsessively planned and looked at pictures and read reviews, etc. until I was just at a very weird place. I was wondering if I had "over-thought" or "over-planned" and wondered if I'd have any fun or if the trip could even meet my expectations. Then Devin broke his hand and my van caught on fire. Now, I'm feeling like, "Hold me back, people, because I'm about to go to the happiest place on Earth and I'm going relish EVERY SINGLE SECOND of it!!!"

Cheers and love to all!!!!

Just a quick check in - surgery is over and she is holding her own.
They weren't able to make the "new knee" as good as the knee replacement she had six years ago, but they are hopeful that barring any new infection she will at least be able to walk again. Stairs will present a major problem so we think we are going to have to have one of those stair lift chairs installed in her home.

The plan, if all goes well, is for her to stay in the hospital a week, then two or three weeks in rehab and then she'll come to my house for two weeks and then my sisters house for two weeks.

Thanks

I'm a long time "lurker" here! I have a question about shipping to the Beach Club :confused3

I read the first post about using the United States Postal Service or else risking a surcharge. I've read many posts about Garden Grocer, except I'm not sure that dbf and I will really need $40 of groceries (we're really just looking for a case of water/gatorade). Also I saw that garden grocer is now charging a $2.00 surcharge because gas prices are so high (at $4 a gallon I guess I can't blame them :scared1: ). I also remember once reading about people having cases of water shipped from Walmart or Costco. Will ordering from a specific website like Walmart or Costco mean that the package will incur a surcharge? How much is this surcharge?

TYIA!

Please tell your Mom she has a flock of beach "bunnies" that live on the web rooting for her! Also know that we are rooting for you and your family because we know that your Mom is not going through all this alone. Stay strong and HANG ON!

Much love,
Marlton Mom, who is also known as the bunny with the big tail! ;)

If it is shipped any other way except United States Postal Service, it goes to the Shipping Department. They charge you a fee. The fee is based on weight.

Jeeez!!! I'd start buying lottery tickets if I were you and I would for sure stay away from lightning, unless it's John Travolta and greased lightning! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c48Ol9xkaqM

Have a better day!

PS. John Travolta is definitely putting some after market parts on his car!
