Had my first surgery(lymph node extraction & blood vessel cut)! Had to wait a little because the person before me had a longer surgery than expected. So I went in at 5:15 instead of 1:30. We got home at 10pm. It was a very long day, we had to be there at 10am for my radioactive agent to be injected by the tumor. So, 1st surgery down...2nd one on the 19th(mastectomy & tram flap). I'll be in the hospital for about 5days maybe 4.

In a little pain but wanted to get an update in & get my Disney fix.

Hope everyone is doing well...

I'm having a rough day today. Feel like a truck ran over me. I'm just laying around dreaming of being at Castaway Cay ... nothing like some Disney dreaming to get us all through the rough patches!

I'm a long time "lurker" here! I have a question about shipping to the Beach Club :confused3

I read the first post about using the United States Postal Service or else risking a surcharge. I've read many posts about Garden Grocer, except I'm not sure that dbf and I will really need $40 of groceries (we're really just looking for a case of water/gatorade). Also I saw that garden grocer is now charging a $2.00 surcharge because gas prices are so high (at $4 a gallon I guess I can't blame them :scared1: ). I also remember once reading about people having cases of water shipped from Walmart or Costco. Will ordering from a specific website like Walmart or Costco mean that the package will incur a surcharge? How much is this surcharge?

TYIA!

If you ship to Yacht Club/Beach Club or another resort which has a convention center, and you ship by UPS or FedEx, the package goes to the convention center and you are charged a fee. The fee is based on the weight of the package:
1 to 4 pounds: $3
5 to 20 pounds: $5
21 to 70 pounds: $10
over 70 pounds: $0.70 per pound.

Robyn you and your mom are in our in our prayers.

Doccoc2002 prayer for a speedy recovery are coming your way

If I missed anyone that needs a little something extra. I am saying prayers for all of us.

Teena, keep thinking the good thoughts! Like I always say, some times you get the bear, some times the bear gets you. Looks like that bear has finally caught up with you.

Teena = :crutches: :dogdance: = Bear

I know how frustrating it can be when you have a bad day health wise. Some times the hardest thing to do is to just be patient and let it pass. Some days you think you won't ever feel good again but I promise you that's not true. So chalk this one up to the trials and tribulations of your treatment and know that better days are right around the corner.

Thoughts and prayers with you and your family. You have a wonderfully positive outlook and that counts for so much in your treatment. You also have many, many people who are pulling for you.
Take care of yourself!

Wishing you a speedy recovery and good luck with the next one! I'll be keeping you in my prayers.

Teena, sorry it's been a rough day for you and I hope tomorrow (and every day after that) is better than today!

Robyn, Glad to hear good news on your mom...hope she also has a speedy recovery!

Hi Everyone. Shooting out some prayers for those having a hard time. I'm glad to hear some of that has come out for the better. I have a couple of questions as my time is getting closer.

1. (Not a question). It looks like you can officially put me down for June! Guess I waited so long, not believing it would happen. We will be staying June 1-9.:cool1:

2. So I'm debating shipping items vs paying baggage fees for the flight. Any thoughts? $$ I think we'll be better off shipping (with USPS of course). Any problems shipping? Does stuff get lost frequently? (Sorry we were all set to drive and not deal with all of this. Then.....well my husband moved my cheese....)

3. I've been thinking of upgrading to CL. I better move if I want to do it. Looks like if I do, I'll have switch over to YC now. Anyway, the reason why is that, now with flying we'll have to deal with ordering groceries, another thing I didn't want to deal with......(ya know, the whole cheese thing again.) But I thought that CL would allow me to not have to purchase snacks or breakfast items. Would you say that with CL I would not need to purchase ANY simple items like that? Would there be plenty of milk, for example? Would there be enough bottled water to fill up our water bottles before hitting the parks in the mornings and evenings?

I'll probably have more questions, when I unravel the rest of my thoughts. But that's enough for now.:rolleyes1

Hey Teena,

Warm wishes your way from up here in the Northeast! I'm sorry you're feeling lousy. I hope your dreams of Castaway Cay help ease your pain!

Keep fighting the good fight!

Well not the best night.

It seems around 4 am my Mom was having shortness of breath and an irregular heartbeat. They moved her up to CCU. She refused to let them call any of us!

Luckily my two sisters work at the hospital and when they went in this morning they called me. No matter how old your mom is and no matter how badly she feels they still are worrying about you!

I'll be leaving for the hospital soon - keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

For all who getting ready for your vacations - HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME and have a sunken treasure or grand mariner (sp?) slushie for me!

Hey Robyn,

Sorry to hear about your mom. Warm wishes from me to you

Jay

1. Congrats!!! I'll add you to the list! Let me know if you decide to make the switch to YC CL.

2. IDK- we always check bags

3. There are no plastic bottles of water in the CL lounge. They do have large glass bottles. I ask the CL CMs for one to take back to our room to use to fill the Camelbacks we take to the park.

Don't forget that you can ask for a free cup of ice water at any of the counter service stands in the park that sell soft drinks from a fountain. That really cuts down on the amount of water you need to carry into the park. Most of the places will gladly give you a cup.

I can't describe how awesome the CL breakfast is, or the cookies and chips during the afternoon or the appetizers in the evening and the desserts at night. Oh wait, yes I can- check out the photos on page 1!

Hello everyone! After a few changes to my Aug trip I am now staying at the Yacht Club(I think;))We were going to try AKL but decided to skip renting a car this year and BC/YC location seems to be a better choice. We had booked with the room only late summer/early fall deal that was going on in March.I wanted to try BC but there was no availability for my dates so it is YC instead. So I have a question about traveling to Epcot before the park is open.We are going to one of the yes classes at epcot that starts at 8:30 and we are supposed to meet at the main entrance to the park.If we walk over we will be on the countries side right? Does anyone know if you are able to walk all the way through to get to the front or should we take a taxi from the hotel to the main entrance? The park opens at 9.TIA

Teena, Robyn, doccoc2002 and everyone else who is going through difficult times right now-

I am sending thoughts, prayers, hugs  & pixie dust and my fingers are crossed that things will be looking up for all of you soon- although that is making it very difficult to type.

Teena- this is not my photo, but I hope it makes you smile :)

A couple of days ago I noticed there are a bunch of people whose visits span both May and June. I didn't want to list them in both months, so I gave them their own little section:

May/June 2001:

littledreamer7, May 28th - June 4th, BC
wehavesix, May 28 - June 5, BCV 2BR
packofprincesses, May 28-June 6, split stay: ASMuFamily Suites/BC CL
cosmiccook, May 29th-June 6th (Wish Trip, 9th BD celebration)
Mommysteig, May 29th-June 9, BCV (school celebrations)
SteveTrek, May 30th – June 6th, BCV
Timon_n_Pumba, May 31st - June 7th, BC
jcondrad, May 31st - June 7th, BC CL

And I just noticed that I sent them back to the future! Will correct on page 1!

Fantastic question! I don't know the answer, though. Are you doing the YES program as part of a group or just your family? Is there a YES coordinator that you have been working with? Maybe they would know.

When you get the answer, I would love to hear it.

A similar situation happens with some of the marathon runners who need to get to the front of the EPCOT in the early morning hours. I believe they have to take a cab to the front entrance of the park.
