Hi there, Rorey, and WELCOME! This is a fantastic thread with the nicest people around. The information (and a ton more) is located on the first couple pages of the thread. Dee (natebenma) does a GREAT job of keeping that info. current. I've probably read that same information a gazillion times waiting for my first ever BC trip---------which is only 2 weeks away!!!!!

Thank you!! Gosh I feel so silly totally missing that post!! lol I guess I've been to busy oggling all the pictures of the resort.

Also, just want to let everyone know that my son's surgery went well. Doc put a plate and 4 screws and thought it looked great. He got sick several times after we got home, but slept for a few hours and is feeling much better!

Does anyone know how much the beer sells for at Marketplace? I know they have it between 5-7 in the lounge but with 5 23 year old young men I thought it would be a good idea to have some in the fridge. Garden Grocer already won't take any orders for the days we are there. They are completely booked.

Hi,

I read another thread that said there was a Hess station across from the Boardwalk. Does anybody know if it's within reasonable walking distance from the BC and would it be too far to walk back to the BC carrying water and beer

Not too far for 23 year olds who want beer!!

When we did our Grand Gathering we had six mid to late twentysomethings.
They would always take an extra beer when leaving the lounge to put in the frig!

They switched our dessert party to Eau de France instead of UK Pubside. They didn't think we had enough room.......

Can't wait to see how it turns out. A pirate themed dessert party!

It is about a 15 minute walk to the Hess Station. I have walked it to get beer and wine. It is difficult to cross the road as it is not designed for crossing and there is not sidewalk on the Hess side. Something about Florida grass that is not soft or enjoyable at all to walk in. The hard part is returning with the beer, especially because it is a hill back up to the Boardwalk Inn. Let me know if you want any more details such as short cuts, etc. The prices are VERY reasonable and the same as off site grocery stores.

Yes ... I was going to suggest walking over to the Hess station and was thinking it would not be too far out of the way for any 23 year olds I know!

Maybe take a rolling suitcase to fill with the beer? May not roll as well on the grass section, but would do well on the walkways/driveways.

Or maybe a couple of backpacks?

Thanks natebenma! We're actually going in October (October 2-7)I've "chatted" with a few YC visitors on other threads that said everyone that visits Stormalong Bay must have a key card, so it sounds like DGrandparents will not be able to supervise him at the pool unless we get them a room at YC. That might be a bit pricey just for them to be able to spend time with DS at the pool. So....i think I'm just going to make other plans for DGrandparents and DS.

Sorry, I missed the part where you said October. I saw "It is a non-park day on the 4th for all" and just assumed you were refering to Independence Day.

Sounds like you have exciting plans to celebrate your anniversary!!!

I'm in the packing stage now. My son's graduation is tonight and then off to see my Mom for mother's day. We leave bright and early Monday morning. We're flying and will be in Orlando by 9:00 am!! Can't wait.

Thank you for asking. She is in ICU and stable. They are still planning
on doing the surgery Monday because the longer she has the spacers in
her knee the more likely that the infection will hit there for a third time.

We are praying that she comes through the surgery and starts to get better.

She has already told the doctors that if the infection comes back again she doesn't want to do anymore antibiotics and just let nature take its' course.

She's been hospitalized and on antibiotics since Valentine's Day so I think she just has had enough.

Alice - hope your ds is doing better. DD had screws put in her leg last summer so I definitely can sympathize with you. She had a long leg cast
on for 8 weeks during the hottest summer every. It was the longest 8 weeks of my life too!

Teena - I like the zap and nap! Have a wonderful early Mother's Day.
