Dental Implants

Second, $2,000???? You have no idea how cheap that is. None. Of course, mine were done in NYC, so maybe that's a factor, but even one I had done 20 years ago cost $6K or $7K. Now? More like $11K.
That seems... high.

I'm not in NYC, but I do live in a very high-cost area. Without insurance, my most recent implant would have been exactly $2500 and the crown would be another $2500. I needed a guide, which was an additional $400. So, $5400 in total.

With insurance, it's closer to $950 + $900 + $400 = $2250.

I should have had an implant years ago but I was quoted $5,000 - $7,000 for one tooth. I would have done it if it had been a bit less expensive. We have good insurance coverage, but it didn’t include implants. It’s a molar.

For those of you that have had dental implants where the bone needs time to grow back around the implant screw, was it very painful. I cracked a crown and part of the tooth came out, so another crown is not an option. The dentist wants to do an implant. I already have a root canal in my tooth. Mini implants seem much easier, but I have heard they do not hold up well.

Would like to hear experiences from those who have done implants.
I had the same situation.
Had the tooth/old crown removed the same day as implant.
The new crown was put on about 8 months later.
Took an ativan for the procedure but it was easier than a root canal.
Never heard of a mini implant.
