2011 is going to be INCREDIBLE!!!

Hi ladies!

Wow I didn't realize it had been so long since I had been over here. The last week has been a blur for me. A close childhood friend passed away on Sunday and the week has been spent in preperation for the service for her and getting everyone together.

Oh that is horrible. I am so sorry. Glad the service was nice and that you reconnected with some old friends. Life does get in the way alot. My best friends are relatively close and we only get together about 3-4 times a year. Sometimes we need to just make that a priority because life is too short.

Good morning Incredibles!! I haven't been here in ages, and still need to decide where to wear my incredible patch. I'm thinking I may make it into a pin, and wear it on my shirt for the race by my bib, and then I will have it for future disney races, and I can wear it at the expo too. Can't believe it's in 2 weeks from today!!!!
Actually I think we'll be at the finish line about now!!!!!

Kathy that is a brillant idea. I think I may make mine into a pin as well. I was worried if I put it on my shirt but decided on something else I might find at the expo that I wouldnt have my patch. You are so smart.:thumbsup2

I am going to be heading out shortly for my 8 mile run. then its really all tapering for the next 2 weeks. I am really excited for that. Training is going well and I am super pumped for the princess. I hope these next 11 days go fast. I cant wait to be in disney.:goodvibes

Thanks for all the nice words ladies:lovestruc. I AM so proud of my accomplishments over the past year. It has been a stellar year for my running and I am feeling so over the moon still about everything I have improved in:banana::banana:. It is nice to have a sounding board though;). My bad run did turn into a bad week, both running and in general. I am glad for it to be over and ready to start anew! I did have a great thing happen this week though, DD is potty training and is doing so good!! She has been dry for several days now with only one accident and she was on her way to the bathroom when that happened. She is even waking up dry!! So proud of her:love:

Yay for a great running year, Beth, and successful potty training for your DD! :yay:

Hi ladies!

Wow I didn't realize it had been so long since I had been over here. The last week has been a blur for me. A close childhood friend passed away on Sunday and the week has been spent in preperation for the service for her and getting everyone together. The service was yesterday, it was lovely. We cried quite a bit, but laughed a lot too. Our gang of girls hasn't been all together in about 3 years, and we were saddened that it took the passing of one of us to make it happen. We have vowed to not let so long go by before getting together again. Its hard though when we cover a few states and all have families and jobs etc.

I have been sticking to my treadmill plan, but still off with my eating. Hoping to get back on track with that this week.

Princess is coming soon; I know you all are getting nervous and excited. I am nervous and excited for you all!! I can't wait to hear all about it. Enjoy your taper, it is a great time to do more mental preparation than physical.

I will have an inspirational quote for you closer to the race.

Veronica, so sorry to hear about your loss. Sounds like your TM plan is going well.

My training's going good. I did my 12 last weekend, and was just over a 15min pace, so thinking that gives me 13 extra minutes to pee.:lmao:
I'll do my 8 miles tomorrow when I get out of work at 2, and it's going to be 45 degrees here so I'm excited for that!!! The end of the week will be in the 50s, but I'm working long days thur and fri, so I won't get to enjoy that.

Hope everyone's doing well!!!!

Have a great week!!!

Yes, I still need to figure out where I'm going to put my patch, too. But then I'm still deciding what to wear! :rotfl2: A pin is a good idea, Kathy.

::yes:: I have to say that tapering is my favorite part of training! ;) (just kidding -- sort of!).

It seems INCREDIBLE that the Princess is almost here. princess:

princess:princess:princess:

My Princesses are getting ready to rock the HALF MARATHON!! I am so proud of you ladies, you have trained hard and are ready to conquer the World!! I will be thinking of you this week as you make your way to WDW and run! I want to see pictures if possible please!

As for me, I'm laid up with a sinus infection at the moment, so no exercise for me for a couple days.

Hope everyone is doing well. Check in when you can!

OK ladies, here it is. Here is what I want you to take with you to WDW. Courtesy of I <3 to run on FB.

RUN because you have to. RUN because you love it. RUN because you want to be fast. RUN because you want to be skinny. RUN to find some quiet time. RUN to sweat. RUN to eat. RUN hear your heart pound in your ears. RUN because you're a runner. RUN because you gotta keep the streak. RUN because you don't... know why the he!! you're running. RUN because you fought with your partner. RUN because your job is sh#tty. RUN because you got no money. RUN for the sunrise. RUN for a race. RUN because it's impossible. RUN because it's easy. RUN instead of doing the laundry. RUN instead of watching TV. RUN because no one else understands. RUN because the cool kids do it. RUN because you're tired of talking. RUN for numbers. RUN for feel. RUN to prove something. RUN because it f#@king hurts.

Or don't run. If you got something better to do.

I love this Veronica!! Thanks.
I hope you are feeling better soon. Sinus infections are not fun. Don't worry, there'll be plenty of pics. I'm so excited to meet the incredible dis-sers I've met here in person.

I've got my 5 mile run tomorrow, and am feeling pretty good and confident some days, and other days, my hip or knee will hurt, and I'll start worrying that it's going to turn into something serious, but later I'll be busy and it will feel fine, so I think I'm just getting a little anxious and blowing things out of proportion.
I spent a better part of today reading Little Bee, which makes me so grateful for my life, and all that I can do here. I know it's fiction, but the things that have happened in the book are really happening. Good book if you're interested.

So anyhooo, next week at this time, I'll really be freaking out!!! Nah, just kidding, I'll be calm, cool and collected sitting around the pool, waiting for bed time.

We leave wednesday, so if I'm not back here before then, thank you to all of our Incredibles team for the support and inspiration you all have given me over the past year. It's hard to believe a year ago I was sharing my first week on couch to 5k, and that i didn't make all 8 of the 1 minute running intervals, and here i am heading down for a half marathon. I would not have gotten here without the support of you all here. Looking forward to meeting Lisa and Lindsay in person!!

Thank you veronica and thanks for all your support. I hope you feel better soon and we will have plenty of pics I am sure. We will make sure to take an incredible team picture of me, lisa, and kathy!!!

Im sure you will be calm and cool. I found the waiting for bedtime part funny too.:lmao: I just hope we can sleep. I cant imagine running on only a few hours of sleep.

I cant wait to meet you girls too. I am so excited. I will do my 5 mile run tomorrow and than at least a 30 min on thursday before I leave. I will try to get one more in before than but with our schedules this week and our TM being broke again its not looking to promising.

My left inside of my foot has been sore this week. I notice it on and off and even more after I am sitting for a while. Hopefully that isnt anything but I think it may just be my anxiety like kathy has said.

If I dont post here before I leave I just wanted to say a great big thanks to my team. You all have been such an inspiration and I would have not stuck with this goal if it wasnt for all of you. I am not looking at this race as the completion of my goal but the start of something great.

Who's all going to the Princess? Kathy, Lindsay, Lisa and ???

I wish you ladies all the best and all the fun you can muster! I can't wait to hear all about your experiences. Nothing better than doing a race at one of the happiest places on earth!

GO, INCREDIBLES, GO!

:cheer2:  :cool1: :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2: :worship: :thumbsup2 :wizard: :cheer2:

Good morning INCREDIBLES!

Thanks for the well wishes, Susie! :flower3: I saw your list of races on the events thread -- wowza! :worship:

I am taking my computer with me so hopefully on Friday or Saturday I will have some INCREDIBLES team pics to share.

Thank you to all my INCREDIBLES for being here to give us encouragement and support -- we couldn't do it without you! :flower3:

Hello INCREDIBLES! Had a great day at the Expo. We have our first team meeting photo taken so will be posting last (sorry left essential adapter at home :confused3:confused3)

Lindsay, Kathy and I were there representing the Incredibles. Our friend Rose representing the Ohanas was also with us. Later I saw several other WISHers. They are all a very friendly nice bunch!

Everyone is so nice and friendly. Lots of interest stuff to see and spend money on. I did not get a finisher shirt because I am afraid I will jinx myself. Will keep my fingers crossed there are some at the end.

I have so much appreciated all the support, tips and advice here on our team thread. I just love it!

Will write more on Sunday after the race is over. My bib is 10209, Lindsays is 10207. Send good thoughts our way. This is part where is it exciting but kind of scary, too! :scared1:princess:

I will be thinking of you guys tomorrow morning when I get up, knowing that you are probably almost done! Can't wait to hear all about it and see the photos.

We are all very proud of you ladies! Be INCREDIBLE!!

Had a wonderful time this week-end meeting my fellow INCREDIBLES Kathy and Lindsay plus lots of other WISHers. Lindsay and Kathy did a great job and I'm sure will be on to tell you all about when they get home later this week.

Sadly I was swept just after mile 8. :sad1: It all boiled down to I was just too slow. I did get a medal (which I did not wear). It will be a good reminder of the day I tried something totally different and outside my comfort zone, even if I did not finish.

Heading home tomorrow. Then time to map out my training for my half at home.

:hug:Lisa, I am sorry that things did not go as you planned. But you went out and gave it your all. And that is what matters. Learn from it, don't regret it, re work your plan for the next time.

I AM PROUD OF YOU! And you should be proud of yourself as well!

Lisa - :grouphug: I hate that for you!:hug::hug: I've had races like that. I just did a race this past weekend and did my slowest ever! Had I participated in the Princess, I would have been picked up at mile 3...honestly, that's how slow I went. I finished in 4 hours, 10 minutes. If it hadn't been for the 6 hour time limit, I would have been sunk!

The main thing is that you started, you gave it a good effort and for that, you should be very proud. You said you got out of your comfort zone to participate in this race. Not many people are willing to do it. It takes a lot of guts to get off the couch and train for a half. Not a 5K but a HALF! You did 8 miles before getting picked up. EIGHT MILES. How many could you do this time last year? ;) You've got some good base miles to work with. As Veronica said - learn from this race, re-work your plan and go get 'em next time! You can do it! :cheer2:

When is your next race? Are you going to consider the half next January? It will be the 15th anniversary of the Donald. Just sayin'! :teeth:

Hello fellow Incredibles!!

I am home from our princess half trip and it was just an amazing weekend. It was so nice to meet Lindsay and Lisa and so many others and to feel the amazing support and encouragement that WISHers are so willing to share.

I have to say, when I got to the W tent after the race, my heart sank for you Lisa that you were swept, and I was amazed that there you were cheering on everyone else, and you showed such grace and positivity at a time when I know you were disappointed. You are such a strong and amazing woman, and always such a great support and encouragement to us all. I am so proud of you and all that you have accomplished, and how far you have come this past year. You are a true princess and I was so happy to be able to get to meet you in person, and spend some time with you in the most magical place on earth.

We got home tonight, and I'm beat, but wanted to check in here. My time was 3:35:31, and I was very close to the pacers after the MK. At each mile marker they'd say we were 2-3 minutes ahead of them. I was in corral E, but ended up getting into corral F by mistake, but was at the very front, so I was excited thinking I was at the front of E, until i realized E was starting without me. I stuck with the 2/1 in the beginning, but in the second half of the race, I walked more than I ran, and it was hot. I think I did well taking water at every stop, and had 4 gu's total throughout the race, and the last couple water stops I took the powerade because I was nervous about sweating so much. I did find myself getting emotional before the race started, once I was alone in my corral, thinking about the past, and how I started running, and how far I have come.
As I was coming through the castle, I saw a guy who's video's I watched on Youtube. He posted a great video of the January half "all along the route" and I made a comment on it, and he said his wife was doing the princess too. He was running also but videoing her, and he'd run ahead and video her come through, so I saw him a bunch of times, and he was so supportive and encouraging to me and everyone around him, so that was pretty cool.
I also really enjoyed the fireman doing the sexy dance on the firetruck, and could have used a few more of him along the way.
I did take pics of the entertainment and milemarkers, and just one character pic of me with chip and dale in tomorrowland with no line. Used the portapotties 2 times, but waited for ones with little lines, but those few seconds do add up.
I was so excited and emotional at mile 13 when I saw my son, niece and sil cheering me on and the finishline was in sight. He looked so proud of me. It just choked me right up.

Overall, I think it was a little harder than I expected. I definitely would like to have been faster in my training, and not feel like I was so close to the sweepers. I found myself getting anxious at times about it.

I had thought I'd plan my next long race, but now am thinking that I am going to work on increasing my speed a little, and am looking forward to getting back out to run/walk without the pressure of having to go 8 or 10 miles every other week. Though tonight, I'm pooped and feel like I don't ever have to run again, physically I feel better than I have in a long time, and know that I want to keep this up, and to focus on losing this weight again. There are a couple raced in my town in the summer that I'd like to do this year, and I'll do the race in june that was my first race last year again.

Thank you again everyone for all the support along the way.

A big congratulation to Lindsay and Lisa on getting out there and giving it your all at the princess. princess::cheer2:

We all have our stories and goals going into a race. Whether it's to get a new PR, finish a race, get a medal, use race as a training run, conquer a challenge, get out of our comfort zone, do something new, or many other reasons the fact remains that for many of us, when we make it to the start line, we've won one of the most important parts of the race. Due to injuries, nerves, lack of training, illness, improper clothing, heat, cold, and other, we may come in last (I've been there, done that) or we may not finish (been there, too!). But, we got to the start line. We had the courage to try.

Congratulations to our INCREDIBLE ladies - Kathy, Lisa and Lindsay - for getting to that start line. You should be very proud of your accomplishments - we are! :goodvibes princess:

Thanks, Susie! I so appreciate your kind words of wisdom. Actually at this time last year I wasn't even running. In April I did a 5 mile walk race and finished in 1:45 (or thereabouts) then it took me a month to recover! :rotfl: So I do appreciate that I've come a long way in a short period of time.

My next race is May 29th -- the Coeur d'Alene Half Marathon. I have 5 hours to finish so I know that I can do that. :thumbsup2

I will definitely be working on my time and my mental part of my training. I chased balloon lady for three miles from mile 5 to mile 8 and had nothing left to keep chasing her for another 5 miles. But I did see a race picture of myself not long before I was swept and I was still smiling so there was something left in there! :goodvibes

A big congratulation to Lindsay and Lisa on getting out there and giving it your all at the princess. princess::cheer2:

And a big congratulations to you, Kathy, for having a great first half! princess: It was so much fun meeting you and spending time with you and your lovely family. You should be proud of all you have accomplished this year! :thumbsup2

Lisa you are so awesome and exude such a positive attitude. You should be very very proud of yourself for doing this and getting as far as you did. You should also be proud of yourself for continuing on. I am glad they gave you a medal, you totally deserve it.

I also really enjoyed the fireman doing the sexy dance on the firetruck, and could have used a few more of him along the way.

Hey they werent dancing when I ran by. What the heck!!!!! I got a picture of them because if you can remember from past conversations I have a love for men in those uniforms.:lmao:

Kathy-Sorry I was not there to see you after the race. I felt bad keeping my aunt and mom just standing around. Im glad to hear that you did it. You were only 13 min behind me.:yay: My 12 min mile pace went right out the door once I saw the richard petty race car drivers. They tied the fireman for the sexy photo op of the race award.:lmao:

Thank you to everyone for your support and wonderful words of encouragement. It was so great to meet Lisa and Kathy and the other Wishers too.

My race was amazing and I loved every minute of it. I actually felt like I floated on a cloud to the finish line. There was so much to do and see along the way that it definitely took my mind off of the fact that I was running. I tried to stick with my 3:2 intervals but after a few miles I just ran and stopped to take pics. I took powerade and followed in with a few sips of water at each station. I ate my handful of twizzlers and pretzels around my 7. I also grabbed a few pretzels from a very nice wish couple at mile 8. I wish I would have asked their names. They were so nice and generous to be handing out pretzels.:goodvibes I took pics with just about every character. Including Mrs Incredible...how could I pass up that one. I honestly felt sad as I approached epcot because I knew it was almost over. It honestly was the most amazing thing I have done for myself. Running for me started as a way to loose weight. In that I have found myself again. For awhile I hid under the title of mother and my world revolved around my kids. Well my world still is my kids but it also includes me too. I have found myself again.....the competitive, outgoing, athlete I once was has now been found and I could not be happier. My kids and dh are so proud of me and I know that I am now setting a great example for them too. I look forward to doing my next half in may.....although I am afraid that it may be a bit tougher and I will not feel like a cloud is carrying me through it.:lmao: I dont think any race will add up to my first race is disney. It was truly amazing!

Hello Ladies!

Its a bit spring like today and I FINALLY got to go out for a run. HOORAY!! Ran 3 miles in 31:51, a bit slow for me but thats okay. Its the first time since 1/1 that I have run outside!

Hope everyone else is enjoying the nicer weather (if you are getting it). Can't wait to start training again, need to get my booty moving!

Hello, ladies! I was part of this team when it started last year, but I lost track. I saw Lindsay's race report and wondered if I could join up with you again. I also did the Princess (it was my first half and the entire reason I started running), and I am so sorry that I didn't get to meet you ladies who were there!

Anyway, I would love to come back to the Incredibles if that's okay!

Lauren, girlfriend, you are always welcome here! You are an INCREDIBLE after all!! Glad to see you back, don't be a stranger now!:thumbsup2
