2011 is going to be INCREDIBLE!!!

Lauren, girlfriend, you are always welcome here! You are an INCREDIBLE after all!! Glad to see you back, don't be a stranger now!:thumbsup2

Thanks, Veronica!

Kathy, Lisa, and Lidsay--I wish I would have gotten my act together and returned to this board BEFORE the race. I hate that I missed meeting you!

I posted my trip report on my blog (baseballsandbows.com) if anyone wants to read it. It was such an amazing weekend!

I am SO goal oriented, so now I have to figure out what I am working towards. I spent a year and a month with the Princess as my big goal. I am thinking of doing another 5K in April and then another 5K or 10K in the summer with the big plan of the Women's Half in Nashville on September 24th. It won't be Disney, but it will be in my backyard, so that's a plus! The problem will be whether or not I can get my training in with my kids home during the summer. Training during the school year is much easier for me.

I am so glad to be back as an Incredible! I look forward to getting back into the groove and following along with everyone's progress!

But I did see a race picture of myself not long before I was swept and I was still smiling so there was something left in there! :goodvibes
I love that you were still smiling.
And a big congratulations to you, Kathy, for having a great first half! princess: It was so much fun meeting you and spending time with you and your lovely family. You should be proud of all you have accomplished this year! :thumbsup2
thanks Lisa. It was so great to meet you too, and spend some time with you. I'm still feeling my disney high.

Kathy-Sorry I was not there to see you after the race. I felt bad keeping my aunt and mom just standing around. Im glad to hear that you did it. You were only 13 min behind me.:yay: My 12 min mile pace went right out the door once I saw the richard petty race car drivers. They tied the fireman for the sexy photo op of the race award.:lmao:
I totally understand not waiting after the race. I can't believe I was only 13 minutes behind you. I wish I had more speed so I could have take more pictures with me in them. But that gives me a goal to work towards. Did you think you had enough time to wait for all the pics you wanted with a 12 min training pace? I so looooved that fireman. I actually took a video of him. The only one I took through the entire race. :rotfl: Entertainment like that is priceless.

Hello Ladies!

Its a bit spring like today and I FINALLY got to go out for a run. HOORAY!! Ran 3 miles in 31:51, a bit slow for me but thats okay. Its the first time since 1/1 that I have run outside!

Hope everyone else is enjoying the nicer weather (if you are getting it). Can't wait to start training again, need to get my booty moving!
It was beautiful here too! Yay!!! Spring is on the way!!

We all have our stories and goals going into a race. Whether it's to get a new PR, finish a race, get a medal, use race as a training run, conquer a challenge, get out of our comfort zone, do something new, or many other reasons the fact remains that for many of us, when we make it to the start line, we've won one of the most important parts of the race. Due to injuries, nerves, lack of training, illness, improper clothing, heat, cold, and other, we may come in last (I've been there, done that) or we may not finish (been there, too!). But, we got to the start line. We had the courage to try.

Congratulations to our INCREDIBLE ladies - Kathy, Lisa and Lindsay - for getting to that start line. You should be very proud of your accomplishments - we are! :goodvibes princess:
Thanks, Susie. What do you have planned for races coming up?

Hello, ladies! I was part of this team when it started last year, but I lost track. I saw Lindsay's race report and wondered if I could join up with you again. I also did the Princess (it was my first half and the entire reason I started running), and I am so sorry that I didn't get to meet you ladies who were there!

Anyway, I would love to come back to the Incredibles if that's okay!
Hello Lauren!! great to see you again, and sorry we missed you in wdw. It was such a fun race, and I'll check out your blog soon.

I haven't done any exercise since we got back tuesday. My usually good foot started bothering me during the half, and it's still achey. When I wake up, it's stiff, but as the day goes on, it gets a little crunchy when I bend my toes. It seems like it's arthritic/inflammation feeling to it. I figured I'd wait to run until it feels better.

I'm looking for a new goal race to do, and the week before july4th our town has a big family festival, and the rotary club does a 5 mile race, so I think that is going to be my goal, to get to that race, be in ONE-derland for it, and increase my pace by then.

Ultimately I would love to do another disney race and be at a faster pace so I can take more time to wait for characters, and not feel the stress that I'm going too slow. It was such an amazing experience.

Happy running, Incredibles!!

Thought I'd try to share a pic of Lisa, Lindsay and I before the expo. I haven't posted from facebook before, but I figured I'd try.

I can't see the pic, but it might be my laptop. If it's not there, I'll have to upload the pics to photobucket later on my desktop. I wish I had a mac. lol.

Yay, it worked.!!
Lindsay, Kathy, and Lisa in that order. Incredible princesses!!

Kathy- I at least felt like I was fast enough that I didnt even worry about the sweepers. I got all the pics I wanted and more...well except cinderella that line was way to long. When I looked at my sports band after MK I was surprised at how much slower I actually was but hey I was there for the experience. Maybe next time I will worry more about my time.

Lauren- I am so glad you got back to our team board. Congrats on the race and I loved your blog about it. Glad you had a great trip with your friend.

I got out and ran yesterday I did 30 min and it felt horrible. I was so tired and my legs were weak. I am hopping my next run will be better.

My next race is the St paddy's day 5K. It is right before the st patricks day parade in our city. My dh is doing this one with me for his first race. I am just hoping I can beat him. He is saying he has been running his 5K in 31min but I think he miscalculates his mileage.:lmao: It just really aggrevates me that I have encourage so many people to run and when they do they all run faster than me and beat me.:lmao: Its just the competative nature in me that I need to let go of.:rolleyes1

Yeah, my husband went with me to my first 5K to be supportive. He had never done a race, but he did the 10K while I did the 5. He came in THIRD and got a TROPHY! He's not allowed to run with me anymore. :)

 I try to remember I'm only competing against myself. But I'm sure if I had a husband, that would really piss me off. A saint patricks day parade sounds like it will be a blast. Will it end with a few kegs of guiness?

:rotfl2: That is just wrong. I loved reading your blog and seeing all the pics. You looked beautiful. What an amazing day.

Good afternoon, Incredibles!

I'm trying to get back out there, but it's harder without a disney race looming on the horizon. I did go out for 4 miles this morning, and was very glad I did. My goal is to run/walk at least 3 days a week. The weight I gained on vacation is coming off pretty quickly, so I know if I get right back to the running it will help too. I was slow, 14:30 min miles, which is what I've been doing, but really haven't increased my speed much over the past 6 months, though I did increase my distance for the half, so I guess that is something. I think I'll plan on the shorter runs for the next few weeks, and play with the intervals and see what will give me more speed.

Hope everyone is doing well. Spring in coming!!

Kathy, my goal is to keep up with 3 days as well. I have also decided on my next half so I have something to work towards. I have to have a goal or I won't be as dedicated! I am planning to do the Women's Half in Nashville in September.

Thanks for reading my blog posts. I enjoyed the weekend so much that it makes me happy when I can share it with others.

I finally feel back to normal. I did two 30 minute runs after the Princess last week, and they were SO hard. I did 5 miles on Monday and 30 minutes today and felt really good. I think I may do 7 miles next week. I may do a 10K in April, and I don't want to lose the good base I have from the Princess.

Hey there INCREDIBLES!!

Sorry I have been falling down on the Team Captain job, but things here are BUSY! DD is testing in TKD this week to be admitted into the testing for her black belt, she is also doing stage crew for the musical at school. Work has been busy, DH has to have his truck repaired after his spin on the highway (truck=boo boo, DH=not hurt). I have been trying to keep up with my workouts, weather is improving but with the switch to DST, the mornings are dark as pitch again. PHEW!

Since I don't "officially" start training again til next month, its not a big deal. I am trying to incorporate other types of exercise as well. I bought the BL Last Chance Workout and BL Yoga DVD's on ebay (waiting for them to come). We bought a second Wii to use in the basement so that we don't feel like we are going to go through the floor or bang into something. And I am sick and tired of the treadmill, I soooo want to get outside and run.

So thats my crazy life in a nutshell, hope you ladies are all well and getting your run on. Anyone got any races coming up? I am racing my first 10k next month. Its a Masters race (so only over 40 yo can race). So I will be one of the youngest there! What a hoot, I'm gonna get schooled by old people! Great!!:rotfl: Actually, I really don't care, I just want to try the race distance since I have never done it.

Lets hear it from the INCREDIBLES!!

Actually you could pick either a tech shirt or an etch beer mug for your give away. We got tshirts but I thought the mug was a cool idea. There is an irish pub called callaghans near the race finish so a guiness may be had.:lmao: Im not sure if I would be up for a beer after running but will see.

It took me a good 10 days to feel good again too. I think the extra walking and park touring just takes alot out of you too. I cant believe your husband got a trophy. Dont you just hate that. Im competitive by nature so its just hard to swallow.

Wow you are a busy B! Your race sounds awesome. I am always getting passed by older ladies or men. Its a bit frustrating but I have learned to laugh about it.

My next race is on sunday. The St Paddy's Day 5K. Its my first race with my husband and I am excited. I got a green St patricks day tshirt and cute green hair bows for my hair. It is suppose to be sunny and mid 50's so it should be a good day. I am hoping to beat my last 5K time which was 36:30.

My run tonight finally felt back to normal. It was nice to run after work again. I love daylight savings time in the spring.:goodvibes

Good luck on Sunday, Lindsay! It sounds like a fun race.

I'm hoping to do a 10K in April, so I did seven miles this morning. The first three miles were tough--probably because of the pounds of birthday cake I ate this weekend (it was my 37th birthday on Saturday). Once I got past three, I felt like I got in a groove and the rest was better.

I'm planning to do a short run Thursday morning, and then we're leaving Thursday afternoon to drive to Disney (we're stopping over in Atlanta on Thursday evening at my SIL's house). We'll be spending our spring break basking in the Florida sun with Mickey! I may try to do one 4 mile run while I am there, but I plan on all the walking being the bulk of my exercise for the week.

Hope everyone is having an INCREDIBLE day!

How exciting. Have a safe and wonderful trip!

One more thing--I registered for the Women's Half in Nashville today. It's not until September, but I had a coupon from the Princess that expired today. Now that I've paid, I've got motivation to stick with training!

Good evening Incredibles!!

Hope everyone's doing well, and with spring approaching we should all be outside for all of our running soon. Funny after florida, the 30 degree weather is not so fun anymore.

I looked up local half marathons here, and found one at the end of september that is in the next town over. I mentioned it to a friend who ran/walked with me a lot during my training, and she is interested in doing it too, so I'm going to plan on it. I figure that will keep me moving over the dog days of summer. I didn't want to do a race in the heat of summer, and didn't know if I would be up for another one so soon in may/june. More finding the time to train for the long runs that is a pain sometimes. Maybe by sept I'll have increased my speed a little so those long runs will be faster.

Veronica- Wow, you're a busy lady. That's cool you're doing your first 10k. I bet you'll feel very young after running it. ;) Glad dh was ok after the accident, but such a pain.

Lauren- Congrats on registering on the Nashville half. It will be good motivation to keep moving through the summer. Except for last summer with the princess in the plans, I tend to slack off as it gets hot, so I was thinking the same thing about a fall race. Have a fabulous trip to Disney!!!!

Lindsay- I would have taken the t-shirt too, and drank my beer from the bottle. I bet it will be a blast. I saw my cousin on facebook in a bar last weekend after a st. patty's day 5k locally. Looked like a lot of fun, but I'm sure it didn't smell too good. :rotfl2: So fun to be doing it with dh. (hope you beat him and your old record.)

Hello to all the other incredibles!! Hope everyone is doing well. :)

Hello INCREDIBLES!

Hope that everyone is doing well and that it looks like spring your neck of the woods! :flower3:

Kathy, Lisa, and Lidsay--I wish I would have gotten my act together and returned to this board BEFORE the race. I hate that I missed meeting you!

:wave2: Hi Lauren! Sorry we missed you this time! Way to go signing up for the Nashville race!

Lindsay, pixiedust: for a PR on Sunday! You'll have to drink some green beer to celebrate, no matter what! :thumbsup2

Veronica, good luck at your Masters race, ya little whippersnapper you! :rotfl:

Kathy, you are doing a great job getting back into the running groove! :goodvibes

I'm slowly getting back into the running thing. I am jumping in at week 6 of my half training schedule since I feel I have a good base. I'm looking forward to getting a half under my belt! :goodvibes

Have a great day all!

That sounds like a great plan, Lisa. I bet as you move along the longer runs will be much easier this time around.

Hello Incredibles!!

Hope everyone is doing well, and maybe even running outside in some spring like weather.

We had a couple nice days, and I've been getting out my 3 days a week. I went with my friend yesterday who is in much better shape than me, and she really encourages me to push, so we did 5 miles yesterday, a 1.7 m. loop 3 times, with a couple hills, and I ran up the big hill all 3 times, because she pushed me to do it. I was calling her Jillian, but after was glad I did push myself. I think when I'm out on my own, I don't push myself as much as I could. I was a little sore after, but today i feel fine.

Lindsay- Hope you rocked the st patty's day race today with a new pr, and maybe even beat your dh.;) Can't wait to hear all about it.

Hope you're all enjoying you weekend.

Hi Incredible Ladies!!!!

My st pat's day race went great today. Lovely weather 52 and sunny and it was a nice flat course.

My last 5K I did in Nov I had a time of 36:38. Today's time was 34:09:banana: Unfortanetly my dh did beat me his time was something like 31:40. I was very proud of him for completing his first race. I have to say for the first half mile we ran together and Im not sure I liked it. I am a worrier when it comes to my family and I almost felt like I was anxious about him, like if he was feeling ok. So I think I prefer to run alone.:rotfl: I dont know its hard to explain but one thing I love about running is that it is just me. Nothing to worry about for that short time that I am out there. I focus on myself and thats it.

It was a blast and the parade was awesome too. We did grab a beer after the race at a local pub and I must say it really was thirst quenching.

Just popping in to say HI!! Will come back later to post more, but wanted to check in.

Hello, everyone! I'm in the car on the way home fom WDW. We had an awesome week with perfect weather. By the end of the trip, however, my kids were sick of me pointing out all the places I ran during the Princess. :) I took running clothes, but didn't run at all. By the time I run on Monday, I'll be struggling after a 12 day break and lots of unhealthy food! I know I'll get back in the groove soon, even if the first run is tough.

Lindsay, great job on your 5k! I feel the same as you about running alone. I like having friends with me at the start and finish, but I like running alone.

Hope everyone has an Incredible weekend!

Glad you had a great trip. I took 2 weeks off during the winter....not intentionally:rolleyes1 but it happened and when I got back out there it didnt feel too bad. I think my body almost appreciated the break. Im sure you will do fine.

Welcome Home.
