Last time I checked it had Cat 3, 4 and 12 as available. :confused3 Now it looks to me like all that info it totally gone. It probably shouldn't surprise me that DVC is vague about what's available. I'm starting to think "vague" and "DVC" go hand in hand when it comes to member cruises. Yea, I guess I still am pretty disappointed in the presentation of '06 and will probably hold that grudge for a while!

Last I seen was those Cats still available and the other categories had a waitlist available. How many people did DVC loose out on booking just from our DIS group. When we got off the ship from the 06 Member Cruise we were on the fence as to whether or not we were going for the 07 cruise. When DVC came up with their ridiculous lottery that sealed the deal that we were done with their Member Cruises.

I like to give gift cards to the teachers/bus driver as well. This year, I headed up to our mall Saturday night to pick them up. Good thing the mall wasn't crowded as when I went to the customer service desk, they would have had no problem taking my money but they now tack on a $2.50 PER CARD service charge. :scared1:

Since I needed several, I walked away with none. There was no way I was paying a service fee for cash. I'll stick the $25 in an envelope before I pay extra to have a little plastic card. So, I walked out of the mall and drove over to Barnes & Noble to buy them there. I figure teachers should like to read and hopefully they can find something they like. I always did the mall in the past, because it offered a vast majority of retailers, but those days are over as long as they are adding a service charge. :sad2:

That's crazy having a service charge.
Our CVS drug store has a display where you can buy all kinds of gift cards for stores, restauraunts, calling cards, and visa or amex cards!
It's great!!

Our Walmart has them too. I went on Sunday and bought $350 in miscellaneous cards (itunes, Olive Garden, AMC, Regal Theaters, Outback and a few others) to finish out my list. Gotta love that one stop shopping! I'm officially now done by the way!! :cool1:

most of the mall cards will have charges and also tack on a charge for the card being inactive. I usually buy best buy for my cousin since he is a teen.

Good morning everyone! Happy belated birthday Ian!

Love coming back to work and having to sort through all the e-mails waiting. Finally got finished at the end of the day yesterday. :lmao:

Wow they didn't sell out the cruise on Saturday....interesting.

Remember they began to sell it on Dec 2 then they called all the "non winners" throughout the week and then this past Saturday. I am sure they are totally taken aback by the lack of participation. :thumbsup2

My grocery store (Giant Eagle) has tons of those gift cards too. And an added bonus is that for every 50.00 you buy you get 20 cents off in gas from their gas station. This is on top of the 10 cents for every 50.00 you spend while shopping. LOVE IT!

Well I hope so.
Hopefully they will learn from this experience.

I didn't even think about the week of pre-sails. I wonder what the waitlist is like, or even if there is one. :scratchin

We'd be hard pressed to book another member cruise. With the inflated cost, I'm not sure it's worth it to us anymore. We're going to be expanding our horizons a little bit in the coming year. In fact, we have no plans for Disney World next year at all (other than Hilton Head).

Amy - have you set up a schedule for the circle journals yet? When are you looking at sending out the first round? I need to get working on mine. Do we have a final list of who is participating so I know how many pages to put in the book?

Thanks!

Does anyone have any different ideas for neighbor gifts? We always buy for our surrounding neighbors from my business as they have the listen to the kids all year long, put up with the parents parking in front of their homes (as well as blocking their driveways sometimes :( ) and all the other good things that come with having a business out of my home.

We've done chocolate, fruit baskets and bakery goods in the past. I'm looking for something a little different yet my creativity is limited. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Cindy - what about jar gifts. You take large mason jars and follow a recipe to put everything in them for cookies, or soups, or even cocoa. I'm sure if you looked online you could find some pages on it. I've also seen those small cookbooks at the checkout counters that have them in it. Then you print out the instructions and tie it on the jar with a ribbon.

I'm just checking to see if any of our friends could help us out. We have decided to stay one more night in Jan and need 6 more points to book our room. Does anyone have 6 points available that you are not going to use? I know this is not the right place to put this but I thought that if anyone we knew had points available I would feel more comfortable sending the money. If no one has points I will check the rent board. Has anyone rented points from someone before? Thanks

I have not yet made the schedule, but that is on my list of to-dos. I will tell you that the first mailing won't be until probably the 2nd week in January, to give people the chance to get their CJs done with the holidays coming up.

Also, I would like a consensus on how people would like to stay connected for this CJ. I could create a yahoo group for everyone and we can post there of any going ons for the CJ. We could also just continue to post here, I just don't want to bother anyone that didn't sign up (except I do think that most have signed up). Or, we could send PMs, the only problem with that is that you can only send them to 5 people at a time and you can never tell who was on the distribution list.

Let me know what you guys think.

I vote for a yahoo group or something that does not involve PMs because you can only send to so many at a time.

Also, please please allow until at least the 2nd week of January or I won't even get my pages started - I'm working on average 11 to 12 hour days every day, our tree is up but nothing but lights on it, my shopping is not done, cards still to mail... get my drift ;)

We did this for our neighbors this year. Different and very tastey! The cougar gold cheese is a white cheddar (the kind they serve for wine tasting). We ordered and had the items in less than a week.

Mary what are the dimensions of that Don Ducky AP Litho that you brought home. I have a friend that is sending me her certificate (in case my new Mickey Monitor does not arrive in time). We have a mailing tub that we can bring with us if the Litho is of a decent size.

It's about 8x10 or so. :)

Ok CJ participants - another question for you. Since we have SO many participants we have a couple of options on how to do this.

1. Everyone mails every 3 weeks and we end in early May '08

2. Everyone mails every 6 weeks on an alternating schedule (except in the beginning & end), but you would have 2 CJs at a time and we end in early May '08

3. Everyone mails every 3 weeks, but you would have 2 CJs at a time and we end around Thanksgiving '07

It really doesn't matter to me, either way. The advantage to the every 6 weeks is that you may have 2 CJs at a time, but once you get started scrapbooking, it usually goes quickly. You will still only have 3 weeks to get both of them out, you just get a break after that for 3 weeks before getting another set. Oh, and you would probably save on postage.

Let me know what you think.
