8 x 8 mickey album to use for the CJ. So as long as no ones makes too much fun of the pages I do I will participate!.

How do we know how many pages to put in?

I did not request a letter from the President because, let's just say, I'm not a fan. I did however request the birth recognition letter for both the girls figuring they may appreciate it in the future. I will make sure they know I wasn't a fan though! Sorry Texans!

LOL well I have my photo with #41 from when he was making a speech in my home town before he was President. I asked to take his photo - I think I was 13 - and he said no, grabbed the camera and handed it to his secret service detail and said "He will take our picture". My hair is very 80's but I will cherish the photo for a very long time.

I know a lot of people don't like him as President but to me it's a letter from the President of the United States the year we were married. So I really hope we get a response!

Does the White House still send out those letters? We have one from when we were married as well as when the kids were born. But, I sent a letter when my Mom & Gary's Mom both turned 80 (which I read was the age they acknowledged birthdays) and neither one of them received a card.

Maybe I did it wrong and the secret service has truly been watching us ever since.


Julie, I'm with Diana.....you have nothing to lose. Wouldn't that be a great keepsake??

We sent invitations to both the president and govenor when we got married (June 2001) and got responses back to both. I never knew you could request birth recognition though.

I didn't request a letter either, because, sadly, I didn't know you could. Although, both of my kids were born during a former president's reign and, let's just say, I wasn't a fan....

But can I request them NOW? From the current president?

I was thinking about holding off my wedding until another president took office so I could get a letter.

Seriously though--if you don't get one within the timeframe they say they send them, request another because for Julia, her letter came right away and I hadn't received Emma's yet, so I just requested another and got hers shortly thereafter.

Thanks Diana - it's a boy cousin and he lives in North Carolina so we'll do something Texas with him. I'm going to see if we can take him to the Stockyards. These guys are so cute - heck his little cousin even addressed our envelop to Matt and Julie (insert new last name) - AWWWWWWWW

Oooh good idea about the seatbelt. Guess I REALLY need to get the camera fixed fast!

What about Southfork or Six Flags (the original!).

Oh so my cursing was comletely justified then!

I was actually very preoccupied with the car next to me in the turning lane. There was a kid in the back seat, I'd say maybe he was in kindergarden. The mother (I'm assuming it was his mom) was driving a pretty new Honda Accord and the kid was in the back seat hopping all around. I was staring in disbelief that first of all the kid didn't have a booster seat but I was thinking maybe he was older than 6 and was small, but he didn't even have a SEAT BELT on!!! She saw me staring and I think I even had my mouth open and must have told the kid to stop but I was amazed by the whole incident, so I probably wouldn't have noticed you Stacy anyway.

OMG, I would have totally done the same. Whenever I see children jumping around in cars I always think where are the authorities when you need them AND what are these *(&$#$#@! people thinking. Oh yeah, they're NOT!

Diana, sounds like a totally awesome day. It's hard to imagine anyone pulling off a fireworks display that can rival Disney's so it must have been fantastic!

Ok, I've posted enough for today, and I'm going to bed. We're heading to Disney tomorrow to visit with friends that used to live in Orlando and work for Disney. She moved to Atlanta a couple of years ago, but is back this week to visit, so we decided to head over there. Chris and the girls need haircuts too, so we'll head to the MK barbershop first, then over to BWV to visit my friend.

Just a reminder that the cut-off for buttons and DIS navigators is two weeks from today October 1st.

If you have already sent your info in thank you. Please check the web site listing as that will be the spellings used.

If you haven't send in your info and want to be included please do so soon. I see a number of people out and about on the DIS with the SSMC06 logo in their signatures so I know there are more going. If you have been lurking now is a good time to stop and introduce yourself. If you don't want to be part of the group that's fine, I just don't want anyone to be disappointed that they aren't included.
