Diana Lyn said:Alrightly, we're back from the company picnic. You can't even call it a picnic because it was a fair. There were 9000 people there. There were at least 15 carnival rides, probably 6 or 7 bounce bounce things. A whole entire row of carnival games (like throw the ring on the bottle and launch the frog into the lillypad) that were free to play with prizes. Bands, facepainting, caricatures, more food and snacks and drinks anyone could ever eat. The blackhawk helicopter was SO cool and the girls sat in it. We stood and watched it take off and it was so cool. There were all sorts of police/fire/military displays. It was amazing. It ended with them passing out litterally tens of thousands of glow necklaces and a 25 minute fireworks display. Now, usually I watch a fireworks display and say <yawn> I wish I was at Disney, but seriously, with the exception of the music (it was showtunes, I like showtunes, but it's not Disney music) this was just as good as Wishes. It was absolutely amazing for a company picnic firework display. I guess now that GE doesn't sponsor Illuminations anymore, they had some extra cash to spend on a one time display.![]()
What a wonderful picnic!!!
