2006 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC06 - October 22, 2006 Part 3

Hi everyone - checking in between dinner and the pirate party. We are also going to try and stay awake for the 11pm showing of Pirates on the Dumbotron. Took a nap today so that should help.

Marla - the palm trees sound like a cool gift. Would love to see a photo.

Ok we just had a Disney Magic moment. Mark and I were invited to meet the Captain on the bridge on Friday as we sail away from Castaway Cay! I know one of the other DIS families were invited as well. We are very excited!

Hey Lily - I would love to see your report, but when I click on the link, it just comes up with an error. Or, it could just be user-error on my part, but I'm glad that you had a good time.

Just an update on Ken's aunt and uncle. His aunt has been moved to a rehab hospital, and his uncle is out of ICU. They expect to be able to move him to the same rehab hospital in a few days, and the two of them will be able to share the same room.

No definite news about Tigger yet, but what the vet suspects doesn't sound too good. He drew some fluid out of her and has sent it off to a lab. Hopefully we should hear something tomorrow. We are preparing ourselves for the worst.

Earlier I posted that my DD Dana has a boyfriend in the Air Force. Please keep him in your prayers. We just received word that he is being sent to Iraq in about 3 weeks. This is especially hard for Dana because he was going to meet her in WDW next month while she's doing her internship. As you can imagine, she is heartbroken. The tears are coming into MY eyes as I am typing this. This is his second trip to Iraq, and he is going to a more dangerous area this time. His name is Thomas.

Oh Mary - my prayers and for Dana and Thomas! What a hard thing to go through! I know that when Chris and I were dating and he left for Bosnia, I was crushed. And, although it was dangerous, even Chris admits that it probably wasn't anywhere close to as dangerous as Iraq is right now. that he comes home quickly, safe & sound!!!

I'm sorry about Tigger. I'm amazed at how attached we actually get to our animals. They become a definate part of our family. I hope it's not as bad as the vet is thinking.

OK, I think I'm all caught up. I started to post yesterday and I kept getting pulled away (literally) from the computer. Six Flags was fun yesterday. We didn't stay that long because my friend had to be back to get her son off the bus. The part was totally empty though and we walked on every ride we wanted to ride. Emma is a daredevil. She loved the rides. These kids saw the Scrambler (which is my favorite) and said they wanted to go. She's not even 3 and her friend is almost 5. So I get on the ride with them, as it's starting out, the two kids are yelling FASTER FASTER. They screamed and giggled the entire ride. When it ended they were yelling AGAIN!! YIKES! She begged me to go on the log flume but no one else wanted to go and I didn't want to hold our group up while we rode. Luckily, with season passes we'll be back next week. It only took us 40 minutes to get there so we'll be able to go a few times a month.

Julia on the other had, enjoyed the very slow rides, but when I took her on the kiddie roller coaster, she was done. No more rides. In her defense, it was hot, she was tired. We'll try some different stuff with her next time.

Good morning everyone! Got a late start with staying up to watch the movie and with the time change we didn't get to bed until 2 am - very late for us early birds.


MaryJ - great news about Ken's aunt and uncle. We will continue to keep them in our prayers and will be praying for Thomas and Dana as well.

Chris - nice to see you posting. Prayers and pixie dust going out to your family as well!
