Looks like it’s no deal really. I was already up luckily.
Rates are a joke.Looks like it’s no deal really. I was already up luckily.
Forgot to mention, even though it’s a room only reservation and I can cancel without any penalty up until 7 days before check in, I had to pay for the stay in full. Now. No 1 night deposit and balance due at check in like Disney. They charged the whole stay at booking. So there’s that wrinkle too.Check again this morning. Midnight was crazy last night. I checked Priceline and saw a very strong rate for my August dates (33% off AKL for a 4 night stay Savannah view room). I checked Disney to see if the discount posted to their site as well, which would be the preferred place to book, but Disney’s reservation website was down for maintenance! I mean you could browse the site but no pricing would come up. All hotels simply would list unavailable instead of a quote. Didn’t want to miss out on the good rate, so I went back over to Priceline and entered my payment info. I hit “book”. After 20 seconds of processing Priceline came back to me and said the price changed….to only an 11% discount. No thanks. And so I went to bed feeling played. Woke up this am and Disney’s maintenance is done but no new deals or prices on their website. Went to Priceline and the good price was back! Quickly input my payment info and hit “book” again. It worked this time! Went from a 25% discount on Disney for my 4 night stay to a 33% discount via Priceline. Used the savings to upgrade from a water view to a Savannah view. Got my Disney confirmation number right away, put it into MDE and it worked! So for everyone like me who got jerked around last night it’s worth trying again this morning.

It looks like they are rolling them into the total price. If you look at the Swolphin the total price is about $50 more than the posted price/night, which I feel this is how it should have always been done. Then, no surprises.Has Priceline recently stopped showing resort fees? There is no reference to them that I can now see for Swolphin. I’m skeptical that they have rolled them into the base price. Anyone have any recent experience with this?
Yea that’s why I dislike using those type of websites cause they aren’t very transparent. I don’t think the dates I wanted were part of the promotion either. Lol there is one night in one random category that is 40% off you thinkI plugged several dates for the boardwalk into Priceline and it just showed an 11% discount. And there is no way to search for rooms that are 40% off. Seems like a scam to me. Like there is a 40% discount in this haystack on a needle if you have the time to root around and try to find it… that’s terrible.
I bet there is some agreement where Disney gets some of that capital up front and this could be a backdoor way for Disney to get extra capital without changing their official payment policyForgot to mention, even though it’s a room only reservation and I can cancel without any penalty up until 7 days before check in, I had to pay for the stay in full. In 2015, I added a dining plan to a DVC points reservation. Had to go through member services though. Not sure if it’s changed since then.Adding the dining plan to an AP discounted room makes it a package.
I don't know of adding dining to a DVC points reservation makes it a package.
Yea the dining plan got worse since then lolIn 2015, I added a dining plan to a DVC points reservation. Had to go through member services though. Not sure if it’s changed since then.
I’ve been playing around with this too- I’m getting amazing deals for my first dates and then ridiculous (high) prices for my second dates. Is that what you’re seeing? I don’t know if I should keep playing with this or not…I found the link I was messing around with earlier. It's a 2024 link according to the URL
https://www.priceline.com/partner/summer-planning-2024-theme-park-frenzy
But if it works, it might offer some good deals if anyone is planning a split stay or renting a car for the full time to align with hotel.

Same. It's almost fun. But a kick in the pants to see the 2nd part of the package.I’ve been playing around with this too- I’m getting amazing deals for my first dates and then ridiculous (high) prices for my second dates.
