I did a seach on the BBB online for cafepress and zazzle

I found one link comparing the companies: http://selltees.com/index.htm

http://www.bbbsilicon.org/commonreport.html?compid=219825 - Zazzle BBB report

I can't find the Cafe Press BBB report yet.

Thanks Cheryl,
I had seen this information, but it is quite outdated, for example, both places do offer designs on dark t-shirts, which is a disadvantage listed for both. These analysis is really geared towards someone who is trying to make a store where they can earn commissions on their products and get their store out there. Which we, of course, are not (I really want to stress that alot).

That brings up another question - If we do not like the color selected by the group: Can we request the images from Mary so that we can use another online company to get the tshirts made? I have tons of grey and don't wear white as well

If you or anyone does not like the design, color, place we choose or anything about the shirts made available to the group, you are more then welcome to do whatever you want. Since this is a group effort, and I think I'm doing a pretty good job keeping this in a democratic matter, I would hope the majority of the group agrees, but it's a free country and anyone can go off and do their own thing.

Hey, Diana, great job distinguishing between the two companies. I have no personal experience with either so I'm just going to keep reading the information you pass along and see if I get a feel for either one from that.

You sure have taken off running with this, haven't you? Good job! :thumbsup2

Thanks to Cindy and everyone else for the compliments.

Yes, I guess I really have taken off running on this. I'm very detail-oriented and organized, my two best qualities! It's really important we get the groundwork laid now because in the not too far off future, we'll be really planning our trip in overdrive! :woohoo:

So far it looks like cafepress is the front runner!

Thanks to everyone for their feedback, keep it coming!

A couple of people addressed this, so I'll answer it all here with one general response. The ash grey shirts are the same price as the colored shirts, 14.99. I used lime as an example, but grey is available, and I do plan on adding it to the store. Also once the store is set up, if you see an item on cafepress what you would like, I can always add it to the store, it's not a big deal. I didn't want to list every item they offer, because there are hundreds, but they also have coffee mugs, tote bags, stuffed animals, even underwear that can be designed with the logo.

Sorry guys, I'm really not trying to overpower the thread with t-shirt information, I thought my post was pretty long! ;)

Thanks Diana - I didn't realize the Ash were the same price as colored shirts. I thought they were the same price as white. I agree that we shouldn't add everything they offer to the store but having a few different options would be nice.

I just received a PM from Mary asking for my opinion, so for what's it worth here goes: I have used both Zazzle and Cafepress in the past, and I do prefer Cafepress, I think the shirts I got from them just looked nicer. Of course, I do a lot of my own shirts, but for a large group of people I would choose Cafepress again in a minute. Hope this helps.

Andy

Thanks Andy for sharing that with us! We are definately a large group with 32 DIS families already!

Thanks, Andy! I appreciate your feedback. It's always great to hear from someone who's used both and can compare the two!

A small PSA announcement:

Anyone here have an email address at monsanto.com?

For the past 3 or 4 days I have been getting emails with bad attachments and they're all originating from oscar.monsanto.com. They're harmless to me as I use an email program that only views in plain text, but could mess up someone else's machine.

It's purposely obscuring who the sender is.

BTW - Mark wanted me to mention (he's already off playing WOW). that he put the info Diana posted last night on the website. We'll also be happy to posts any designs that need to go up to be viewed (or you can save them yourself in the DIS photo gallery).

33 OMG that's AWESOME

Thanks Diana for coordinating! You are doing a fab job  :)

Either vendor is good for us as long as we can choose the colors of our shirts and it sounds like if we like a color that is not originally listed we can have it added. Very cool! Since Andy recommended cafepress I'd lean that way, but really am up for anything the group selects.

I love Mary's idea of being able to order an ornament or something unique like that!

I forget to mention in all my ramblings that Cafepress even offers thongs! :lmao: I'm sure that will make a lot more of you guys vote their way! :lmao:

I really have no preference on which company. I will go with the flow there. But I do like having a few color options. Thanks for all the work Diana :cheer2:

I think those of you who played John Travolta on the last cruise (and you know who you are) should get one of these. Than you can really represent the group right! We'll have nothing on those turkey day cruisers! :lmao:

I haven't had any experience with either company, but after reading all of Diana's info and hearing what Andy had to say about both companies I am going to vote for Cafepress. I do like the other items that could be made available...and no, I'm not talking about the thongs that are available :rotfl:

Diana - great job on the info THANKS! :Pinkbounc

He's downstairs working on the basement so I went and told him about your post and he wanted to know if he could wear his tool belt too! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Is he going for a spot on the Village People too? :lmao:

Oh, that reminds me. Guess who Chris was on our Valentine's cruise? He went during the 80s night and ended up being in "Bon Jovi". He was the keyboardist. I wasn't there, because I was with Madison in our cabin, but Chris' friend from work was there and his wife got pictures. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
