Good Morning/Afternoon!!

Took me forever to read all my e-mails, so I'm late getting over here.

I can't believe it's warmer in Ohio than it is here....53 right now. Brrrrr.........where's that warm Caribbean sunshine?:sunny:

Virgil...timed it last night, 15 minutes from "Wildfire" to my house.

Never did finish packing up the snorkel gear, so I guess I'll do that today, in between loads of laundry.

So, jilljill....why then, is the Tower of Terror 199 ft tall??? did I miss something?

Guess I'll go gaze at the Magic.....

TTYL,
Stacey

WHY IS MT. EVEREST 199 FEET HIGH?

I haven't read forward to any possible answer, but I want to guess......

Is it because at 200 ft Disney would be required to put airplane warning lights on the top? By making it 199 they can avoid that??

wow, surprised no one had already answered this question!

jilljill knows it based on her answer. :)

Well, I'm back. My parents have headed home. My dad got a LOT done on our bathroom--vanity and countertop in, faucet in, toilet in, casing cut (we have to attach it) baseboard in, shower fixture in. I've got to clean up the mess and seal grout lines and caulk then I think it will be totally functional. Blinds not up yet, so I'll makeshift a curtain so I don't scare the neighbors. :)

Advanced puppy class went well. Maggie remembers her commands. Put the other dogs to shame with "STAY" even with distractions (food, toys, commotion) but failed miserable on "leave it." Hmmm, just like at home!

Since my parents were down we figured out excursions....Thought about a dolphin encounter but from reading posts it sounds like the are sold out anyway. Guess it's good we decided against it this trip!

Here's what we decided:
Key West: Glassbottom Boat
St. Maarten: Under 2 Flags Island Tour
St. Lucia: Pirate Excursion
Antigua: Antigua Island Tour
St. Thomas: since it's Christmas we're going to hang out, see whatever is around the dock and make it a low key day. Mike and I (and maybe the kids) may do the Tramway.
CC: maybe rent bikes if we feel energetic

Since I knew we'd be picking sort of "boring' excursions, I haven't booked anything except the Pirate Excursion. Hoping there wasn't a mad rush for any of these others. Maybe the Glassbottom Boat one will be an issue, and if that is the case we may just bum around Key West on our own.

This is exactaly what he has in mind. Not sure if doc will tell him no work but if wearing a mask (for training) causes problems I'm not thinking I want him wearing one into a fire. :firefight No No NO.

I stopped to see Garry at work and he had to actually do some. It is very very windy here and many wires down, which have to be investigated to make sure they are not electrical ones that might hurt someone. Since he left me all alone, I needed someone to talk to. :chat: :wave2:

DSL not available in my area so I use dial up, I just dropped the signature line and everything comes back really fast, (for dial up that is)

A browser tip for anyone on dialup- increase the size of the browser cache. In IE, you'll find it at: tools/internet options and click the button labelled settings in the Temporary Internet Files box. then just move slider to increase the cache size. It won't try to download graphics it already has stored on your pc.

And yes the mountian is under 200ft because of FAA rules. it's why the "wand" has a red blinker on top in Epcot.

Arrrr!

That makes top #12!

Yup. Disney didn't want to ruin 'the show' by adding the blinking light at the top of the attraction.

Seeing that this is our first cruise, and a 10 day Disney one at that'!.....Not to 'up' on this tipping thing.

Not to be cheap (which I'm not, else why would I spend this kind of $$$!!??)...we are expected to tip, or is this put on my room tab?

Could some of your experienced cruisers help me?

We won our football game 26-20. Going to playoffs next week. I think we play the same team again but it's at our field.

We're going out to eat tonight. I hate cooking. If I ever win the lottery, I'm hiring someone to cook dinner every night.

Sun came out this afternoon. Very windy, but uppper 70's.

I think I have obsessive compulsive disorder.....I can't, can't stop buying disney stuff, scrapbook stuff and can't stop thinking about this trip....YIKES!

I'd certainly like to meet everyone at some point. I think my kids would like to email other's kids as well....DD is 13 (14 on the trip!) and ds is 12.

I think I need a therapist!

Disney has a suggested amount for tipping and on the second last day, you will get envelopes (one each for the Room Steward, Asst Server, Server, and Head Server) to put your tip in. You can either do it by credit card at the Disney Desk (then they will give you little cards to put in each envelope) or you can pay cash. The suggested amount is just that - you can feel free to give more for good service or less for not so good service (but you always get great service on Disney).

realtorlady (sorry, I didn't catch your name)--Tip envelopes are usually placed in your room towards the end of the cruise. For our family of 5, I think it comes out to about $540 total for the 10 night cruise. On our last cruise, we went to guest services and paid them, then they gave us a receipt to place in the envelopes.

Just watched the Magic sail by two palms. 7 more weeks and that will be us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
