***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I had hopes of doing this with Tiffins for RoL. Now I am laughing at that thought :rotfl2:

I will just enjoy my morning in AK with lunch at Sanaa
I have 2 afternoons back to back for AK and am really hoping for the tree of life awakening! ROL would be a bonus but I really want to see the lighting of the tree!!!

I have a spot open for it! Hoping it happens or the hours are at least extended a little so there are a few tree lightnings, but if not, it will be Hoop-Dee-Doo (if I can get one in November based on its booking trend). If no Hoop-Dee-Doo, then Disney Springs or a relaxing resort night.

Backups for the backups!

It may be open by december. that's what the rumors are saying. IF it is, I kind of hope that they also extend the hours with a show at like 8:30. I mean, if they are open til 9 in september they should be open til 9 with nighttime shows during the busy holiday season right? they won't open it tentatively, if they open it at all they will open it with two shows a night. I just hope because of the earlier sunset and dismal attendance in the summer that they won't knock it back TOO Early... But right now they are showing the jungle book at "astronomical twilight" which is 9 and again an hour and a half later at 10:30

Astronomical twilight is at 6:30 in December so if they show it at 6:30 and again at 8 I can see it after my CA grill dinner, although I will need to burn my FP+ on it and do HS without fastpasses... which is possible since I am also doing it as an EMH morning hours so I can probably get there at 7:30am, sign up for Jedi training academy for the 2:40 show, be there for EMH rope drop, go ride toy story a couple of times, ride great movie ride, do star tours and pretty much bang out the 3 things my kiddo really wants to do before the park even opens... then do whatever other shows, have early lunch at sci fi at 11:15, do something after lunch if I have the time (like muppets 3d if not before), do the indiana jones show from 1:15-1:45, wander around the star wars gift shop for a while before having to show up at 2:10 for our 2:40 jedi training show which will be over at 3:10 and then go back to the resort and freshen up (not full showers, probably just a change of clothes to something slightly nicer and get rid of some of the dirt and stink lol) for a 5pm CA Grill ADR. We will have a car so can drive over there for dinner. It is the first seating so my plan is always to check in about 15 minutes early and request a window table. Last time we went I had all 3 courses (sushi, main course, dessert) and I feel like it was not much more than an hour (service moves quick that time of day, it drags out later and I don't mind the faster pace with a kiddo honestly). But say it takes 90 minutes, so at 6:30 we get in the car and drive to AK for the evening. If the show is at 8 the timing will be good, 7:30 could work too. if it's at 7 it's a crapshoot if I can get there on time even with fastpasses. So I guess we'll see. IF it is shown and IF they have at least a 7:30PM show I can probably fit it in. If not, oh well.

BTW my speculation about the time related to twilight is purely my speculation but it makes sense. they probably need a certain level of darkness for the show to go off ok.

I think if the show is at 8 and we get there by 7 we should have time to maybe see the awakening (?) and also get in line with FP+? did they even fastpass the jungle book show and was it for both shows or just one?

Agree with the back up for back ups! I seem to have plenty of those! Was thinking about Hoop Dee Doo too for our last day if Star Wars Dessert party (another thing we needs back ups for) cannot be done on my last day...

I think there were FPs for both shows... but I didn't follow too closely... I have a feeling that might change.

why do you think that might change? there is a whole FP section and a whole dinner package section.

hoop dee doo was my primary plan lol and I can't believe I got the ADR for it with how much trouble people are having!

That sounds very doable! I am a pro-EMH person myself, especially HS! Toy Story, Rock N Roller, and Tower of Terror are some of my favorites in all of Disney! Must do them many times!!

I am hoping they extend the hours and you are able to FP+ one after your dinner, if it happens!. I also hope HS follows through and at least pushes Fantasmic! back to 7:30pm/8pm.

My trip will span 3 MVMCP nights so MK is off limits besides the night I attend and I already plan on being in Epcot 2x for IllumiNations. I would like some sort of nighttime park activity for the other nights!

The current set up looks like FP+ has a separate entrance and the dining package goes in the same area as standby. Also, from the initial reports I've seen, looks like they have a hard time with this logistically and controlling the people going in and out. In a sense, it's kind of good that jungle book started instead of ROL since they'd be able to work out the kinks in logistics. All speculation on my end, but I think they may switch the entrance for the dining and the FP and make it more similar to F!?? Just a guess on my end though... If there are 2 shows and they go the same way as before, you should be able to book dining package for both shows and you should be able to get FPs for both shows too?

I wish it was in my original plans so I didn't have to keep checking aha. My mom surprised me and told me she would like to attend probably at 130 days out? I did not think she would appreciate that type of show, but she proved me wrong and requested it! If I had known, I would have booked at 180+10 :(

I have a TP notification set up and I check probably every hour or so. Thinking I will book the early and late one depending on if I want to try and fit RoL in after it (if it happens 7:30pm or later), or more park time prior.

I'm hoping for the same! Right now, I have 2 'nights' at AK, 2 nights at DHS, 2 nights at MK (1 party and 1 non party), 2 nights at EPCOT and 1 at DS. the 2 nights at AK are basically ending with a dinner at 6pm right now and DHS leaving after F! and SWaGs... means 5 early nights including the one at DS, which is good for my toddler :P

Oh i thought you meant there would not be a FP+ for both shows, I couldn't imagine why lol. I haven't looked into the logistics one bit so I don't know. I'm just hoping IF they run it conditions are favorable for me to be able to make it :)

there is definitely something funny going on with the reservations. it cannot possibly be sold out. TYPICALLY booking at 130 days should be absolutely no problem at all but availability has been wonky for a while for shows starting in september and through whatever is booking at 180+ right now. There was briefly a little availability and then none and I think it has been opening up more the month before. crazy. Some disney IT person has their head shoved way up their butt!

It looks like this has been the norm with a bit of their reservations though. I would say an example would be Homecoming Kitchen. It was available for lunch when the reservations started but it looks like they took it off and now you have to call wdw-dine for reservations!? it's so weird...

I'm too lazy to go back and look for the wishes dessert party for mvmcp thread. Anyone know what time we should arrive? What is the best plan of action?

@pigletgirl Here's some timing info. We're attending on 12/9--so excited! :)
  • Guests who reserve the Holiday Wishes Dessert Premium Package can check in from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. Upon check-in, you will receive an official credential for event identification.
  • Starting at 7:30 PM, Guests will meet at the parade viewing area located by the flag pole in Town Square to see Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, which begins at 8:35 PM.
  • After the parade, Guests will be escorted back to Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant—the location for both the dessert party and Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season fireworks at 10:00 PM.
  • Guests who miss the parade viewing can check in directly at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant at 9:30 PM.

I am still MAJORLY on the fence about this. On one hand, the viewing is not the best for the fireworks (it's off center which is less of a problem for regular wishes but I think it does curtail some of the 360 effects). on the other hand, it includes the parade viewing. Though part of me wants to see wishes and then the second parade rather than the other way around. ugh I just don't know. plus we want to do the star wars dessert party on the 3rd (MVMCP on the 8th so maybe enough time between). UGH! first world problems lol

Oh my gosh...I KNOW!! I vacillated for weeks. Did you know there is seating for this particular dessert party? :D I'm really hoping to do the Star Wars dessert party on 12/3, but second option is 12/7 (hoping so much for 12/3). All that depends on how the H&V F! package works out, because I'm stalking both of those dates for that as well. Never simple! lol As @PolyRob said, backups to backups! It's become our trip mantra, along with "well, we're already there anyway!" as far as adding things. I really need to draw a line somewhere, but I just keep adjusting the line!

Hoping so much for 12/3 also. I can do it on... um... the 5th also but it makes my plans more disjointed :-p
