12 Days of Disney = 1 Happy Family! June 2011 TR (Update x2 7/19)

Thanks for joining my trippie! I'm returning the favor, but I still need to get caught up. Our trips even overlapped by a day or two!

Thanks for joining in! Hope you enjoy it!

:love::love::love: your trip report! The way you write it like engulfs you into reading on and on!

Your almost at our DISmeet! Sorry I'm so behind in mine I'm trying to catch up!

Keep writing :) I love it!

Thank you so much! Yes, I'm almost to our DIS Meet! :cool1: You were gone for a while, so I understand! Can't wait to read about the rest of your trip though! And I'll keep writing!

I love your outdoor nemo photos. I might just have to get a few shots of my kiddos there. And good luck on starting school this week:).

Thank you so much! I don't want to start school, but hopefully the transition won't be too hard.

Brief update, but filled with good pictures, as usual! You mentioned that you had to stand around a bit to get your picture in Bruce. I have to tell you that the whole set up in that area drives me bonkers! There is no 'queue' for Bruce, so you have to rely on people having common courtesy and hoping they will let others go who have been waiting longer. In the few times we have tried to get our kids in Bruce, I have become so frustrated with people barging right up and not even noticing that there's a swarm of people patiently waiting their turn. UGH!! One of my Disney pet peeves: Other guests who have NO awareness of others around them.

Ok.. my rant is over...

Ready for the next episode! (Have you started back to school yet? If so, how is your year going?)

When I last left off, we had just exited the Seas with Nemo and Friends. The time for our Soarin’ fastpasses was coming up, so we decided to head into the Land. When we got there, we went straight to Living with the Land.

I can’t remember if I mentioned this before, but we all love that ride! Thing3 even decided that she wanted to start her own garden. At this point, we still had about half an hour, so we decided to go see The Circle of Life movie. We had a short wait before entering the theater, but when we did go in, it was not crowded. Half full at best. While we were waiting for the movie to actually start, Mom and Dad said something like, “You know it’s crowded at EPCOT when the theater for The Circle of Life is full”. This is not a must do for any of us (well…maybe for Thing3, she loves the Lion King). Finally, it was time to use our Soarin’ fastpasses! Before we got in line, we got another set of Soarin’ fastpasses to use with Uncle R, Aunt C and K later in the evening. We got in line and had probably a 15 minute wait before we were Soarin’! Again, love that ride! Around this time, Uncle R, Aunt C and K arrived at EPCOT. They went and got Soarin’ fastpasses and we met in Mexico. We were going to eat around the World for lunch. Our first stop was La Cantina de San Angel. I’m only going to talk about what my family had, because I have no idea about the others. Out of the five of us, only Thing3 wanted to eat here. She got cheese empanadas. It took forever to get her food, but finally we got it! She gave me a bite of the empanada….so good! Thing2 and I were secretly hoping she wouldn’t finish so we could have the rest! Next stop was Norway! I walked into the bakery for a minute, but nothing appealed to me, or anyone else, so we walked on to China. Thing2 wanted Chinese food, so my family claimed a table. Uncle R, Aunt C and K went to see the movie I believe. I’m pretty sure Thing2 got honey sesame chicken…whatever it was, she liked it. Thing3 and I enjoyed her red bean ice cream. That stuff is amazing!! We walked around for a few minutes, waiting for the others to come out of the movie. At this point, it was mid-afternoon and getting close to my DIS Meet with Christy (disneypolyprincess) at the Magic Kingdom. Dad sent me with my Key to the World card to Germany, so I could get my pretzel. Those things are delicious!! I think we stopped in Germany to look in the shops, before heading to Italy. As we arrived in Italy, I finished my pretzel, so Dad and I decided to head to the monorail. I was VERY nervous about my DIS Meet. I’m pretty shy, so I was kind of worried about meeting someone new. How did it go? You’ll have to wait for my next update!! No spoilers Christy! Thanks for reading! Hopefully I’ll get at least one more update up before school starts (Wednesday). And the next update will have more pictures! Have a magical day! :)

I know! There needs to be a CM or a line or something back there! I'd be afraid to send my (small) child back there by themselves with all of the trampling to get up there! Obviously, my mom has no problem sending us, as I'm 14, but I wouldn't send Thing3 back there alone! We haven't started school yet, we go back on Wednesday and my mom starts teaching on Thursday. Should be interesting...5 different places for 5 people!

"Climb aboard explorers!" Oh, I can't wait to hop on a clam...:goodvibes

You're trip is getting so close!! :cool1:

Living with the Land is great! Are you going back to Disney World next year? You could ride it then. I'm sure you'll be caught up in no time!! And thank you! When do your classes start again?

There is always something new to look at! Hopefully I'll update about our DIS Meet really soon!!

Great Update!

I think you are very brave to have a Dis Meet. I'm also very shy and couldn't do it and I'm 42 for heaven's sake!

No spoilers you'll just have to wait and look for a PTR ;)

I have day 4&5 done I'm trying to get some videos on photo bucket but it's being stubborn :(

Your welcome! They officially start September 6. But since I have a HUGE class list mine started about a month or so ago :)

Are you going to Disney world next year?:confused3

I guess I'll just have to try and be observant then!

Can't wait to read about days 4 and 5!

What classes are you taking?

We aren't going back in 2012...Mom and Dad decided that we are going to take a road trip to Canada, then down the East coast and then back home. Summer of 2013 is out too...we are probably taking a beach trip with friends. BUT.....we have ideas in the works for October 2013 AND Summer 2014!! Think it's too early for a PTR?

Haha I'm sure there will be something about it within the next month :rolleyes1

I can't wait to read the rest of yours!!!

Oh gosh:
Algebra 2
Consumer math parts 1&2
Forensics
Stem cell research
Penn history
World of short stories
Career explorations
Fundamentals of law
Intro to mass media
A few more I can't think of :rotfl:

It's never too early! :lmao: but that's a bummer you can't go to Disney next year :( Would have been nice to plan together! I'll just look forward to the 2014 hoping I go!

 I guess we're both a little impatient!

Wow! Sounds like you have a lot of difficult classes! They aren't all going on at the same time, right?

I know, I'm sad we can't go back for a couple years! I'll definitely be following along with your next PTR though! Maybe we could meet up again before that, if your family ever comes this way or if we happen to be near you!

Thanks for warning me...I tend to be the nice person that makes their children wait their turn...and then boil up inside and mutter under my breath about rudeness when I have had enough!

Red Bean Ice Cream...adding that to the list as we spend one afternoon eating around the world!

I loved Living with the Land, too! Reading about it in the tour books I had decided that we would skip it...but it had no line at all when we went past so we decided to stop and make time for it. I am so glad we did! Truly amazing what they are doing with plants.

Did you see Circle of Life? I was thinking about skipping it...I get so tired of the environmental thing being pushed down our throats! Okay, don't get me started on this gripe!

Looking forward to hearing about your dismeet!

Yes, add the Red Bean ice cream to your list! It kind of tastes likes strawberry.

If I only went by the description, I would just skip past it, but it's so neat to see everything growing! And I like seeing those tiny alligators too!!

We did see Circle of Life....we only saw it to kill the remaining time before we could use our Soarin' fastpasses though. I don't really care for it. It's a mostly depressing video showing all sorts of pollution.

I'll try and get the next update up shortly!!

Psshhh impatient? No! Never....:rolleyes1 :lmao:

They do seem difficult but so far they are pretty easy. The only one I'm not working on is consumer math pt 2 but I do have more classes... In total 16

Yay! That'd be awesome! :cool1: let's hope!

Living with the land has a certain smell, and I think thats part of the reason I love it. Smells stick with me for some reason, and theres some places in Disney that I just love going to for that reason. Is that weird? lol

Do you have so many because you're trying to graduate early?

Thing3 would probably love to meet you! She was looking at your TR with me and was very interested in your hair and your brother's hair! :rotfl:

Yes, it does have that certain smell! I don't think it's weird...I remember things by their smell too! Like summer...smells like chlorine and sunscreen

**I have pictures of the DIS Meet, but Photobucket isn't working right now. I'll add them when Photobucket can learn to cooperate.
When I last left off, I had just finished a delicious pretzel from Germany! Where to next? Well, Mom, my sisters, Uncle R, Aunt C and K were going to keep walking around World Showcase, but Dad and I were headed for my very first DIS Meet!! I’ll admit, I was pretty nervous for the DIS Meet. It did not help that the walk from Germany to the monorail is sooooo long! We got on the mostly empty monorail. After a short ride to the TTC, we switched to the Magic Kingdom monorail. Before I knew it, we were pulling up to the Magic Kingdom! At this point, I was texting Christy, letting her know we were arriving. Dad and I walked down Main Street pretty quickly; we didn’t want to keep them waiting. There were butterflies in my stomach, but I just kept walking towards our DIS Meet location: It’s a Small World! About the time we reached the castle, she texted me and said they were waiting by the garbage can outside of the entrance of It’s a Small World. We rounded the corner and it only took us a second to locate them! Christy’s brother’s bright blue hair is easy to spot in a crowd! Even walking up to say hi to Christy and her family, I was nervous, but as soon as we started talking, all nervousness went away! I don’t know if it felt that way to her, but to me it felt like we’d known each other for a while already. That’s not really a good explanation….I don’t know…It’s just hard to explain! Anyway, the line for IASW was very long! Outside of the awning! We just got in line though, because the loading goes pretty fast. In the end, the wait was about 25-30 minutes. We spent the whole time chatting and telling each other how our trips were going so far. When we got to the boat, my dad, Christy, her mom (I think…) and I sat in one row and her dad, brother and sister were in the row behind us. We waved at everyone as our boat was leaving the loading area. IASW was fun as usual, but it was even more fun to be with a friend! Well…at least I consider her to be my friend, I’m not sure if she knows that! When we got under the bridge in the unloading area, someone threw a penny down! I don’t think it hit anyone in our boat, but then Christy and I decided to announce that instead of pennies, they were welcome to throw credit cards, gift cards, cameras, etc. to us. Soon, we were off the boat and back into the bright sunlight. Dad and I had to get back to EPCOT and they were staying at MK, so we had to say good-bye. :sad1: I believe we took another picture, this time one of me, Christy and her whole family. Christy, if you have this picture, could you please post it for me? After we said good-bye, Dad and I made our way back down Main Street, stopping quickly to grab a bottle of water. Just a few minutes later, we were on the monorail, headed towards the TTC. I’m going to stop there for now. Thanks for reading!
