12 Days of Disney = 1 Happy Family! June 2011 TR (Update x2 7/19)

You're wearing cute flip flops in this update! :goodvibes

How neat the Pocahontas is your sister's favorite! I bet Pocahontas doesn't see too many girls dressed up like her... I'm sure she was happy to see your sister dressed up! And she was such a beautiful Pocahontas!

:rotfl: In the picture with Rafiki, your mom looks like she has some kind of tropical headwear on! :rotfl:

Great update!:thumbsup2

The picture of Thing 3 in the sunglasses is so cute!

AK is ok. To be honest, it's my least favorite of the parks, but I have fun when I'm there. I just feel like there's not enough to do in comparison to the other parks.

I went to Yak & Yeti once and know all about the pineapple wontons. YUM!

BTW...love you sisters pocahontas costume...did you bring it with you or buy it there....would love to get that for the grand princess....

I am so looking forward to Yak & Yeti...the wantons made the ADR choice for me! Glad you liked it...makes me hopeful!

So love Thing2 in her Pochontas costume...looking at the pictures of the CM playing the character...she really hit the body language/mannerisms on the head for Pocahontas!

SOunds like a great day! I love the shots of all of you on KKR...I always seem to sit in the seat that gets soaked:confused3on a hot August day though, it's just fine:thumbsup2

Your little sister looks so cute in her Pocahontas costume!

About your meltdown, well,,, I would have had one too. Some people don't get Disney like we do. :confused3

Animal Kingdom update....FABULOUS! We've never ridden Kali River Rapids as we usually go during cooler weather. This trip will be our first opportunity to ride it! :woohoo: We're also trying out Yak & Yeti although it'll be the counter service, but I'm excited all the same. :cloud9:

Keep 'em coming. popcorn::

Love your TR-you are doing a great job with it!!!:thumbsup2

We also use the rider swap b/c our DD is young so it is nice seeing where you used it;)

Great updates!! Enjoy your time with your family... look forward to more updates when you have a chance!!

Thank you so much! We all had a great time and I'll start working on an update shortly!

great update...love the pics....my grandson Jackson is going to love AK...he is only 1 1/2 but loves animals

Thank you! Jackson will love AK! You'll have to post pictures of his reactions to everything so I can see how cute he is!

I am late joining in but I just love your report. You and your family look so cute together and like you have a great time. There are so many great pics of everyone.

Congrats on being able to write such an awesome report at your age. That is wonderful! I can not wait to read the rest.

Thank you for sharing with us all!! :wizard:

Thank you so much for joining in! We do have a great time together! Thank you! Writing has always been the subject I was best at in school. Math and science, not so much, but writing was always fun for me! I'll try to get an update up shortly!

I've never been to Rafiki's Planet Watch - it looks like fun! Your sister is so cute in her Pocahontas outfit. :cutie: I completely agree about Y&Y! We ate there for the first time on our honeymoon and loved it! Those wontons are amazing. Love the pictures on Kali! :goodvibes

Rafiki's Planet Watch is fun! I liked watching the medical procedures and looking at the reptiles better than meeting the characters, but it was lots of fun because there was something everyone enjoyed! Thank you! I think she's pretty cute too! Yak and Yeti is so yummy!

KALI RIVER RAPIDS!!!!! These pictures just got me WAY too excited!

 I'm glad I could excite you!

Yes I am! My family was a little surprised when Thing3 first annouced that Pocahontas was her favorite! We all thought she'd like Cinderella or Belle or one of the more classic princesses, but she loves Pocahontas! I think she's pretty cute too! It does look like she has tropical headwear on! Too funny!

The picture of Thing 3 in the sunglasses is so cute!

Thank you! She's pretty cute! I think I might like AK better than DHS...we just really enjoy all the shows and it seems like we never have enough time there! I would LOVE to stay at AKL, but the rest of the gang wants to stay at the Beach Club. I'm not the one who pays for the trip, so I don't really get to make that choice! Those wontons are amazing!

BTW...love you sisters pocahontas costume...did you bring it with you or buy it there....would love to get that for the grand princess....

I think I wrote this on your PTR, but we bought it from the Disney Store at the mall by our house.

I hope you love Yak and Yeti! We sure do! I love the picture of Thing3 with Pocahontas too! And yes, the CM portrayed Pocahontas really well!

It was a great time! Thing2 seemed to get the "lucky" seat both times, but the rest of us got pretty wet too! Thank you so much!

About your meltdown, well,,, I would have had one too. Some people don't get Disney like we do. :confused3

You're right, some people just don't get it! Thank you so much! Kali River Rapids is so much fun! It's a short ride that sometimes has a long wait, so if the wait is too long, get fastpasses! The Yak and Yeti counter service place was so good! Probably the best CS of our whole trip!

Love your TR-you are doing a great job with it!!!:thumbsup2

We also use the rider swap b/c our DD is young so it is nice seeing where you used it;)

Thank you so much! We've learned how to maximize rides using the rider swap!

I’m back! I had a great time with my cousins, but now it’s back to trip reporting. Just a warning: I misplaced my little book of trip notes, so I’m going solely on pictures and my memory! When I last off, we were leaving Animal Kingdom. Where were we headed to next? Hollywood Studios! The bus ride was fairly short and the bus was almost empty. When we arrived, we debated what to do for a few minutes, before deciding to see the American Idol show.

The pre-show guy:

In all honesty, I liked the pre-show better than the actual thing! The pre-show guy was hilarious, getting us to dance and cheer for the contestants. The host seemed rather boring in comparison. Overall, we liked the show a lot and we will definitely do it again. After we got out of the show, we texted Uncle R, Aunt C and K. They were waiting to see the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. We didn’t want to see it again, so we decided to get some ice cream. Thing3 and I got Mickey ice cream sandwiches and I think Thing2 got a strawberry bar. After we finished our snacks, we walked over to wait for them to come out of the show. When they came out, we decided we’d go ride Tower of Terror and Rock N’ Rollercoaster. We didn’t have fastpasses for ToT, but the line was only about 30 minutes. Aunt C didn’t want to ride and Thing3 was scared, so they stayed on a bench. While we were in line, I saw one of my friends! It was a weird coincidence to see her at Disney World! Tower of Terror was fun, as usual. Here is a picture we took in line:

471.jpg

Then we headed over to Rock N’ Rollercoaster. At some point we must have picked up fastpasses, because I KNOW we didn’t wait stand-by. Thing3 couldn’t ride and so Dad said the rest of us could go and he’d wait with her in the gift shop. I sat next to Mom, Thing2 sat next to K (surprise, surprise) and Aunt C sat next to Uncle R. Here are some various pictures of us:

Following that, we decided to go ride Star Tours. On our way, we stopped to take a few more pictures:

The line was about 30 minutes. Sadly, none of us got picked to be the rebel spy, but we still had lots of fun. Another picture we took in line:

After that, Uncle R, Aunt C and K went to go get in line for their Fantasmic special seating. We weren’t seeing Fantasmic that night, so we decided to walk around and take in the scenery we usually just walk by. We saw the Singing in the Rain umbrella and then we looked at some Star Wars stuff.

(I love looking at what Thing3 is doing in those pictures)

And then some Star Wars stuff:

No idea what some of that Star Wars stuff is, so if you know, feel free to let me know! We were going to stay until closing and hope that the line for TSM would go down enough to ride without a fastpass, but we were all so tired. We decided that we would leave earlier so we wouldn’t be as tired the next day. We caught the bus and were soon back at POR. If I remember correctly, we went straight to Riverside Mill for dinner. I have no idea what anyone got, but I know I had my leftover rice from lunch (and still didn’t finish it!). We went back to the room, took showers and were soon fast asleep! Thanks for reading!

I am NOT a fan of American Idol at all. Ryan Seacrest's voice makes me twitch lol. But I was forced to see the show last year and enjoyed it. We saw the last show of the day and I think that's the best one to see. It's all the winners from the other show's throughout the day. The finale. It was fun!

Sounds like another great day!

Great Update! Pretty impressive details considering you misplaced your books of notes (you remembered the bus was empty.....wow)!! :upsidedow

I have to add the "Singing in the Rain" photo op in the plans! Love that movie!

Love the "Charlie Angels" pose at Star Wars...I was Thing1's age when that tv series came out! How I loved the angels!

You guys are too cute. :cutie:

Your littlest sister seems like she is such a character! She must provide a lot of entertainment. :rotfl:

Hey! I definitely remember you from some aspect of planning your trip! Did you do a PTR maybe?

Well, anyway, great job so far! You guys are having so much fun! I really want to stay at POR someday, it sounds great!

How neat that you ran into one of your friends at ToT! It really is a small world! Aww, thing3 is too cute once again in her Rock and Roll gear! :cutie:

Ok, all caught up. I am sooo happy to hear your family enjoyed Chef Mickeys. It is one of the restaurants we are trying next month. And I like thing3's blue floral shirt. (I smell gymboree.:lmao:)
Oh and I love all the shots of guys posing at DHS, you guys look like you were having a blast. :cool1:

Hi! Thanks for visiting my PTR!

I was looking at your 1st pic in your TR and wondering about the flip flops you are wearing-Then I read through and saw your post about your grandma making them! Too cute! Are they comfy? Can you feel all the bows?

Again, sorry for the delay! Busy week with tennis try-outs and enjoying the last little bit of summer. I'll get another update in either tonight or tomorrow morning....it will probably be tomorrow morning because tonight is the finale of Food Network Star!! So excited!!

We watched AI for a while...but then after Simon and Paula left we stopped. I love the new show, The Voice! So much better in my opinion! We did have a great day!

Thank you! The only reason I remember the empty bus is because we were all so tired so I joked that we could lay down and cover all of the seats.

I have to add the "Singing in the Rain" photo op in the plans! Love that movie!

Love the "Charlie Angels" pose at Star Wars...I was Thing1's age when that tv series came out! How I loved the angels!

I'm not a big fan of the movie (not sure I've seen it all the way through) because I don't really like "old" movies. The photo op has become tradition for us though! Again, I've never seen Charlie's Angels, but we just decided to pose like that! :rotfl:

You guys are too cute. :cutie:

Your littlest sister seems like she is such a character! She must provide a lot of entertainment. :rotfl:

Thank you so much! She is quite the character! She always entertains us with her songs and dances and all of her crazy stories about kindergarten!

Hey! I definitely remember you from some aspect of planning your trip! Did you do a PTR maybe?

Well, anyway, great job so far! You guys are having so much fun! I really want to stay at POR someday, it sounds great!

Thanks for joining in! Yes, I did do a PTR! I looked back at it and you posted for a while, but then I think you went on a trip...Thank you so much! POR is great! In fact, my youngest sister has said, "I don't want to go back to Disney if we can't stay at Riverside".

How neat that you ran into one of your friends at ToT! It really is a small world! Aww, thing3 is too cute once again in her Rock and Roll gear! :cutie:

It is a small world! Thanks! Thing3 can be pretty cute (when she's in a good mood!)!

We love Chef Mickey's! Especially Thing3! I believe her shirt was from Gymboree! :rotfl: Thank you so much! We did have tons of fun that night!!

Hi! You're welcome! When I see cute kids, I can't help but subbing! My flip-flops are comfy! You can feel the ribbons on your feet a little bit, which used to bother me, but I've gotten used to it.
