LOL! (BTW Mark, that's Laugh Out Loud ;)) Good luck getting one. Some others who got theirs today had them broken too. :(

I did lots of groveling (sp) in my email to them. Hope they send another and hope the PO is more careful. :crazy2:

Yes, I am Greek. My mother came from Greece, and both of my father's parents came from Greece. I have yet to go to Greece though . . . My whole family went the year my son was born, and we did not want to take a newborn overseas. Both of my grandparents in Greece died before I ever met them. My DW is not Greek, but both of my children are raised in the Orthodox church.

We have a thriving Greek community here in Canton, OH. DW does LOVE the food, the festivals, and the ethnic "association". My first language was Greek too - and I went to K-Garten speaking it to the teacher. My son is much like you - understands it all, but does not speak it - my parents took care of him while we worked when he was young. DD though has not been exposed to it as my parent's health is not so good now, and DW's mother takes care of Sophia.

John-you and your family must go to Greece some day! It's an incredible experience, especially since you're experiencing your heritage while you're there. Both my Giagia (not sure if that's spelled right, but my mother insists it is so who am I to argue) and Papoo lived in Greece, which is why I visited and lived there. When I lived there I lived in Athens and attended american school. My mom and family are from Chios, which actually is where she'll be retiring to in a few years. I was christened and raised in the Greek Orthodox Church and of course married in the church. My DH was Catholic and now attend an evangelical church. While I love the Orthodox faith, I just felt I needed more in terms of learning about the Bible and since my husband was Catholic we decided to find something that would work for our family once they came along. We've been happy so far.

I too started Kindergarten speaking Greek to the teacher and they told my mom she needed to choose a language for me because I was confusing the two languages...funny! We'll have to *try* to converse in Greek on the cruise!!!! LOL

Small world...off to bed now!

I got the DCL CC thing in the mail today. It was a bit strange. It said in the letter "welcome back home from your West Coast Trip" - what West Coast Trip? The farthest West I've been in my life is St. Louis! :confused3

Oh my gosh, that is so funny...particularly since we went on the "west coast trip" and all the literature, including the CC after cruise mailer all referred to the CARIBBEAN!!!! How funny is that!!! We thought the least they could do for the outrageous amount of money we spent to go to Mexico (since it was DCL it was worth it to us) was to personalize it to the west coast....guess they did it--a little late. Silly.......

Yes, they had my ressie number and transferred it. I know now not to give too much info....just ask for a quote.

Angie-that is so not right...they're not supposed to do that. I know DCL will release it to the TA if the TA has your ressie number but that's really unethical that they would do it without your permission, knowledge and/or consent. I would demand they put it back, so to speak!

Good morning, all!

Wow - I am away for a day, and page 105!!

Got lots to catch up on - got my DCL mailing - according to them I was on a West Coast cruise - must be the age setting in - I thought it was Nassau :rotfl:

Goofy - Your Family Fun feature is great - I remember reading it - we were at BWV for the Epcot Wine and Food FEst (oct 2002) and it was in the room - our DD used to set up blanket tents to camp in the living room - only I would be assigned the role of a bear :dog2: Look forward to the TV debut!!

Well, off to work. :wave2:

:sad2: :sad2:
I'm so sad. I begged, asked nicely, even groveled (sp?) but no Survival kit. Boo hoo!!!

It didn't seem to be worth the hassle. It has been a year. We rebooked 2 cruises while on the 10 day Dec 2004 and I emailed them right after we got back. I wanted to check rates and I made the mistake of sending my Ressie number. They have not done anything good or bad since. Just sent me an email and then a folder with our confirmation stuff in it. We'll see as we get closer to cruise if they earn their money.

Well, DH keeps saying that I should take the train to go up there next month. I don't look forward to that. Is driving that bad???

Hi all-

I haven't been active on this board in quite some time. We just returned (last Saturday) from WDW and had a great time. Now I am wishing I could just skip the clock ahead to December! While in Florida we took a ride to Port Canaveral and watched the Wonder sail. My dd was almost in tears she wanted to be onboard so badly! When the Wonder blew her horn it sounded so beautiful... the Mariner of the Seas sailed by right after and, as my dd said, "I don't want to go on that ship. They have a boring old horn." :rotfl2: Oh well, only 11 months to go...

I asked a TA for a quote also just to see if it would be less than what I had booked on board. The TA also just went ahead and transferred it...the price was the same. I will know better next time. I was going to check with DU also, but it was already a done deal. They better at least send a little sail away gift to us. :teeth: I book everything separate. We use DVC for lodging prior to the cruise and I have always been able to get decent airfare close to flying time. It is nice to know you can change/cancel just one piece.

If the agency (ie website) has this symbol
astasidebarlogo.gif
in the window (on the page,) then you can let the agent know that is the reservation is not returned to you then you will file a complaint with the ASTA. Here is the website for this process, http://www.astanet.com/about/consumercomplaint.asp.

I have a degree in Travel and enjoy helping others plan, but kidnapping a booking is kind of sleazy. Good Luck in getting your reservation back.

If you are comfortable with downloading the information from the CD, head over to the sticky at the top of the DCL board and all the data from the CD is avaliable there.

I am ok here in Canada, the courts ruled limited downloading as ok, but we can't upload up here, lol. Crazy Cuncks!

Parking and Driving in DC sucks! The trains leave you at Union Station and then the DC system goes from there, and it is great!

Gosh thanks!! You guys are so nice!! I can play it from my computer, but I'd like to have it on a CD. Do you mind? I'll pay for any costs!!!
:love2: :love2: At least I feel loved by you guys, even if the people I pay thousands of dollars to don't love me enough!!!

Yikes - is the server really really
SSSSSSSSLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW

or is it mine?!!!!

It has been a PIA lately. I've had to deal with server busy errors all times of the day. :(

After a long day with the kids I got tired of the bickering & went upstairs to play a video game. I know...but it helps me to relax & take my mind off their spats. A couple minutes later all was quiet downstairs. I was up there for over an hour putting away laundry & cleaning while listening to Oprah. They were sitting next to each other on the couch watch TV. LOL! If that is what it is going to take to get them to behave I will spend more time upstairs every day! ;)

We are watching Little Mermaid...again...and will have popcorn soon. I am hoping for an early bedtime for the kids. :)
