I went to the Women of Faith convention that was held in Philly this past weekend. It was amazing!!!!! I felt very energized after leaving there!

DH is watching the Eagles. Since I mentioned it on this thread...they will probably lose!:rotfl:

I am tired and heading to bed.

This is great news! I'm really happy also because this is the house with the parking room for the motorhome too!! :thumbsup2

There is plenty of room for you guys, Angie & Dennis! :) The cul de sac that is on the left of us has several lots owned by connecting property owners. I did a deed search of the area and there were 10 out of 60 lots that were owned like that and connected to the other lot so that they would have a nice treed lot for privacy. Sounds great to us! :thumbsup2

Also, the stuff that is on the house is constructed from crushed concrete and has the same rating as brick by insurance companies for value, as well as the assessment. The site is www.nailite.com. We have the RoughSawn Cedar Shake siding. I can't believe this is really happening. We will find out when the lawyer can fit us in to sign the paperwork tomorrow. :) :dance3:

Oh, I see. Too high tech for us hill folks out west. We do have phone wires though so we can get dial up. :lmao:

Angie, you can use our wireless when you are here to keep in touch with the clan out west. :):surfweb:

Don't say that Brandy cause that would mean that the skins won....

YICK!!!!!! Anything Dan Snyder is the Anti-Christ.....

BTW, last week was the practice round of EOGs for the 3rd grade. He found out today that he got the highest grade on the first section of the non caluculator math. He had a 99%. I told him not to worry about it. Now he is floating on air and shouldn't be upset or worried about it at all.

They have said that he first round is just for practice and that most kids down't do well on the math until the last time in May because of the order the information is presented in to the kids. I am going to be talking to his teacher and the principal next week to see what we should do about his placement. I will have the therapist send the principal the test scores tomorrow too.

One thing different is how apparent the curriculums differ between the two schools in teh little things. WIlliam wanted to learn how to "write fancy" last year so I bought him a workbook and he started writing in cursive. He is panicking now because the kids in his class started writing cursive in second grade. At the old school they don't do that until the very end of third grade. I guess if you have only 30% of the 4th graders passing the writting competency test you don't care if the kids are printing or writing. OY!

I guess that explains it . . . after reading 50K for siding, I was wondering if it was gold-plated! I had my MIL's house sided a couple of years ago (about a 2000 sq ft two story) in vinyl for about 7K. No garages or out buildings, but still, 50K??? WOW!

I know!!! There is no way that we would put that on a house but it sure makes this one look nice. We had no idea that it wasn't cedar shingles until after we looked at the house and were reading the stat sheet. It is still relatively new and outrageously expensive. The $50K would include the labor to instal it too. You can't pressure wash the stuff or it voids the warranty.

I'd be preying for no seabird nesting sites nearby then.... or migrating geese.

Some of the homes in our area have had terrible problems keeps their homes "Pooh"-free.

It looks really nice though....

BTW Lisa, i need to ketchup to up sometime as i have volunteered to coordinate dining for the Pirates (at least Capt's dining anyway). I sure you still want to sit with the Capt, right? Anyway, i know your busy right now but if you have a couple minutes one night...let me know and maybe we can go chat (private) since you are the most expert person i know at this.;)

We are already linked with Todd's family for the cruise for dinner. We did that the first day when we booked the cruise. I won't be linking with the DIS group.

I won't be linking with the DIS group.

That much i figured... I just wanted to know so we could still plan around you guys seat wise.
Inadvertantly, with Todd still pretty involved ..... you will be seated in the group anyway. I just didn't want to do something that would screw up your dining plans somehow. :flower3:

Actually no, we are linked with a small group of about 24 people or so. Our info will not be with the DIS group's info at all.

I seriously doubt that the group will be able to link anyway, which is why I said that I was not going to attempt it months ago. There is no way that you can shut others out of one dining room and with all of the family members and friends who are traveling with the DISers it would just be best to group into smaller groups since early dining is all at 6 and late dining is all at 8:30 for the repo cruises.

I have to tell you guys how unbelievable that Indans game was last night. Amy and I had such a blast going! We were losing until the 8th inning, but something about this young Indians team just refuses to give up.

Because we have been such consistent non-champions here in NE Ohio, it is really special when a team starts doing well. The Browns have never been to a Super Bowl, and no championship since 1964. The Indians, while they have had a few trips to the World Series, have not won since 1948, and the Cavaliers have never won a championship.

But there is something really special and American about baseball. The crowd was such a complete family mixture. Young (yes some even brought babies), old, and everyone in between. You may have heard that there are also two nuns who have season tickets to the Indians, and sit right behind home plate. They bake cookies for the players too.

Put that all together with the Indians in their red, white, and blue uniforms, on a perfect summer night, with a playoff atmosphere, and it was just a joy to be there. Once the Indians got back in the game, people were on the edge of their seats or standing and clapping for the entire remainder of the game.

When they won with a Home Run in the 11th, the place just went crazy! The team has a tradition of mobbing the player hitting the home run at home plate, and it was like a big rugby scrum. Whenever we have won, since the Indians resurged in the 90's, they have also played the same song (that I had never heard before), John Mellencamp's "Again Tonight" which is just perfect with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just a few blocks North.

The Indians really are having fun this year too . . . the other thing the team has done is when they win like this, and the "hero" of the game is being interviewed after the game, someone sneaks up on them and gives them a cream pie in the face. Sounds silly, but it is indicative of the fun these guys are having, and the fun the community is having with the game. They even played a video during the game of all the pie face highlights.

Our fans and our team are so hungry for a championship, that it really brings up the spirits of the whole region when a team like the Indians are doing well. If and when we make the playoffs, everyone around will be wearing their Indians hats, shirts, and ties, and having fun.

Just wanted to share how much fun it was. Even though we get criticized for the "non-politically correct" mascot, no one here thinks that way of the team or the pride of the native Americans (Indians) the team is named for.

If you saw the movie Major League, you get just a brief idea and sample of what life is like here for a baseball fan in Northeast Ohio.

Now back to your regular DIS channel . . . sorry for the long post Brandi!

We send a Christmas Card to President and Mrs. Bush every year (I know, I know!) and they send us one. So, I gave DD our Christmas card list as a reference for invitations to our "surprise" anniversary party she is having for us. She sent them an invitation -- Cinderella Royal Affair invitation of course --. So today she came to my office to let me listen to a VM on her cell phone. The President's scheduling office called her to RSVP. The woman introduced herself, said they received the invitation but unfortunately the President's schedule will not allow him to attend! What on earth could he be doing that is more important than this Royal Affair? :lmao: She also left her phone number incase DD had any questions. :rotfl: We were completely surprised. I expected a form letter saying thank you for thinking of us or somthing, not a personnal phone call. Too funny!

It's great that you had such a good time at the game, John. :) I think that it is easier to back players who are there for the fun of the game than those who are so competative and stressed about the outcome.

:lmao: I can't imagine why they couldn't at least send Cheney and let him out of his undisclosed location. :rotfl:
