11/26/2011 EARLY Bananahead reunions cruise

it's choirs and readers telling the Christmas story at Epcot at the big outdoor amphitheater. We have never done it before but have heard it's beautiful

We havnt got to sit in the seats and watch but have seen and heard some of it sitting outside of the American Pavillion restaurant. What I heard was awesome, so emotional for people. It really depends on who the speaker is and that changes a few times during the days it is being performed. You wont be sorry you went from what i experienced.:goodvibes

I forgot to mention my most important news:

I got word the other day from Heather...she will not be getting deployed next month:cheer2:....her orders were cancelled, so she will be staying on base overseeing things there. I am really happy for her...she did not want to leave the baby and I'm happy that she dosnt. Now the down side to all this is that her new position starts Jan. 4th...which means her plans to come home in January are no longer. But I can work around that. I will just have to take another trip to Colorado to visit her and the baby.....:thumbsup2

Just wanted to share....

Morning all,

well things are a bit better today around here. Now instead of Gregs back its mostly spasms in his upper leg and side of the right hip. It is going to be a few more days but at least he is improving.

I baked a few more cookies late last night and tomorrow Iwill make a cake and orange and cinnamon rolls to take to DD's house on Christmas. Hope i get it all done.
In case I dont get back on line until after the holiday,

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

:santa::santa::santa:

Now that's an AWESOME Christmas present!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Ok, I don't think that's what we saw then?

We watched some kind of Christmas singing, but I don't remember them telling the Christmas story.

Ok Greg, I really need to say something here...

You keep hoping/wishing for snow for Christmas....and yes a "white Christmas" is really nice., however, my thought is this. We are hoping/wishing so hard for a white Christmas, that that crazy white stuff decides to come and then stay.......for months....I mean you cant get rid of it till april. Like what is up with that????? So if we "all" quit wishing for the darn stuff....maybe we can all have a decent almost snow free winter!!!:thumbsup2

Well, ok that's my Christmas wish anyway!!!!:confused3:rotfl::rotfl:

Well have to get busy......got baking to do.....

have a good one, stay warm

denise:banana::banana::banana:

I thought I was the only one wishing for snow?

Actually I need it to snow not only for a white Christmas, but also because we'll need it for the water in the spring.

During the summer I'm the water master for over 1000 farmers and irrigators and if we don't get enough snow it makes my job unpleasant, because I have to tell everyone to cut back on their water usage to make what we get last as long as it can. Some years farmers end up loosing millions of dollars in crop loss because there isn't enough water to go around.

Merry Christmas Kathy!!

We'll be at home, but very busy I'm sure. We've got live lobsters from Maine arriving tomorrow for dinner...this should prove interesting?!

After Christmas Janel and Chayce will be flying down to Pasadena to watch her brother play in the Rose Bowl. Fedex is suppose to show up with their tickets today.

Anyway...going to be a busy, busy holiday around here.

That is good news! :woohoo:

Great news Denise! You couldn't ask for a better Christmas present for sure!!!!!

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas as well. Tomorrow should be a whirlwind of activity getting ready for the big day, then off to a neighbor's annual party and then church and a traditional Christmas Eve dinner for all of us. Then the big day followed by visits to relatives on Saturday and then we board a flight at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday for WDW! Should be nuts but fun.

Gee, thanks Greg for making me feel bad.......
I hope you get enough snow this year for the farmers. I hate to see them lose their crops.

I just wanted to wish all my dis-friends a MERRY CHRISTMAS May your holiday be filled with family & friends. Make it a safe holiday.

Denise

Jeff,

I am sitting here watching Samantha Brown at WDW at Christmas time and thinking about you going to be there soon. I love the Christmas decorations.
It is a new show because she said Hollywood Studios, not MGM.

Greg ,
we have the same water problems here. We are way behind in water this year and of course Oregon is 2/3rds farms. The Willamette Valley is very fertile land.
We are all set to watch the parade then the game in the afternoon. I got Peter a Ducks Rosebowl shirt for Christmas present. When they win it will be a cool shirt to wear, if not he can wear it like an undershrit I guess:lmao:
The Malls here are selling thousands of shirts and only $20 so I thought it would be a good gift since he is such a big fan and goes to college in Eugene at the community college.

Hi Denise,

hope you got all your cleaning done so you can relax and enjoy the holiday.

I need to drive Greg to town to deposit his check today and get some eggs and bread then back to spend the day baking for tomorrow at my daughters place and 2 special cookies for my mom. I am going to visit her in the morning.
First time in years all my kids will be there. I must take my camera. Unless Rachel goes into labor:scared1: She is due the 27th!!

I wont be back tomorrow, of course all of you will be busy with family too, so be safe and have a wonderful, Merry Christmas.

Jeff, give Goofy and Donald hug for me!! I miss them.

Kathy

Well our lobster dinner was a big hit tonight!

I'll post some pictures and video once I get a chance. Brayden was scared to death of them and wouldn't go near them, but once they were cooked he was ok. :rotfl2:

Holly liked touching them with her finger and Nicole and Chayce thought it was really "cool".

We're getting ready to put the kids to bed so we can start putting presents out under the tree.

I hope everyone has a:

Merry Christmas!!

Howdy everyone,

We had an awesome day.:goodvibes
I did all the driving due to Gregs back and it was below freezing and very foggy. They had flashing road signs warning about icy roads, but it was all smooth sailings for us all the way down the freeway.

Then to stop and see mom. My brother was there waiting for me and we went in and saw mom sitting in the hallway sipping coffee. They had just finished opening gifts and special holiday snacks.
She saw I brought homemade cookies and said Oh good I am starving. I didnt even get breakfast;) Her memory is so bad she cant remember from one meal to the next.

So she nibbled cookies and then Santa came around the corner and waved at us. Mom asked if he had a present for her and he had just given her lotion a few minutes before. He was a great Santa and I didnt expect to see him there. They go all out for the residents there.

Anyway mom loved her gifts. Watching her face light up as she opened them was THE BEST PRESENT EVER!! What was so cute was I had got one of those bendie snowmen that cost a dollar and used him as decoration on the Christmas bag her gift was in. She saw him and laughed and smiled and make such a fuss over him. He was just the decoration:lmao:

She said I remember seeing things like this but I have never had one before?
After several minutes she wrapped him carefully in the red tissue paper from the bag and proceeded to pull out her sweater and she loved it.
I was so relieved, I had been looking since last spring for alight weight sweater for her . Now she is fussy about certain things so hard to please.

So after rubbing it and fussing for several minutes she looked down at the red tissue paper and said whats that? She unwrapped the snowman again and it was like she had never seen it before:lmao: We did that routine 3 times in a row with her gifts but it was wonderful to see her so happy.

Then on to my DD's house where all my kids were waiting. Everything went great there too. My son brought his girlfriend he has had for several months so we could finally meet her. She was great. All but one grandkid was there too. Ana was with her fiances family today.

My other DD was the hit of the day because you could see the baby kicking in her tummy. Everyone wanted to touch her stomach. She is due in 2 days:thumbsup2

My other DD had bought everyone a couple of gifts which was a surprize because we wernt exchanging gifts this year. She even got the dogs some doggie cookies and signed the package from Spike her dog.:rotfl2:

Then the long drive back home after dark which I have only driven after dark once in the last 2 years:scared1: I did just fine but it is more stressful going 65 and 70 in the fog and dark on the freeway, especially for 20 miles of curves and hills where deer jump in front of you all the time.

Now we are both snuggled in our new snuggies and the pups are under their new blankets too.

I hope everyone here had as great a Christmas as I did.

Kathy

Glad to hear the lobster was a great success. I am sure your mom will be pleased to hear that.

Hope you had a great Christmas today,

Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Glad to hear you had a great Christmas with your family.

We've been busy all day unwrapping gifts and visiting family....just got back home about an hour ago.

I'm beat and going to head for bed.

Good night.

Greg, any pictures of the kids opening gifts?

I have a few family photos but dont have them downloaded yet. Just chatting not opening presents with them, although I do have a coulple of my dogs getting their presents:lmao:

Back later,

Kathy

Afternoon everyone:

We are having tons of snow right now......thanks to Greg and his snowdance:lmao:

Had a great Christmas: Christmas eve went very well....Wally come over early in the morning and he was a great help in getting things together for later in the day with his sister and her family. My nephew whom I havent seen in about 5 years was not sure he was going to make it....but he ended up coming along, it was so great to seem him. We had a great dinner, I made chicken parm along with a pork roast and all the fixins....it turned out soooo good.
Christmas day was good also, my dad was here along with my son and his girlfriend....had a good ham dinner and then I drove my dad back into chicago, on the way back home the snow started and it hasnt stopped since.

I ran out this morning to do a few errends and the roads are horrible, even tho the plows are out. So I'm staying put for the rest of the evening. I actually just finished taking down all my christmas decorations, all I have left is my tree...that will come down this week.

Kathy, glad you had such a good time with your mom. Thoes times are really memory keepers. Did you tell us what your daughter is having? Boy or Girl? Hope things go well for her.

Greg: Glad your Christmas went well also. I have to say, I really miss having little ones this time of year. That really makes the holidays the best.

Next year I'm spending Christmas with Heather and Izzy....that will bring back the magic of Christmas for me.:thumbsup2

Have a great day all
Denise:banana:

Me, my mom and my oldest brother.
