09/28/2002 Cruise

Nancy--Ed is in England on business, but I talk to him every day. I'll check to see if he wants to switch to second seating, but I suspect he remembers those L-O-N-G dinners from last time. If someone else contacts you about joining them, please go ahead and do it.

Riker is my pride and joy--a miniature Schnauzer with quite an attitude and a bunch of health problems--He celebrated his 11th birthday on July 16. When I first started posting, I thought it was a good idea to have an anonymous screen name. Somehow being Steve & Kevin's mom seemed too long, so I went with Riker. I now seem to use my real name (Karen) a lot. I guess I trust everyone on the boards by now, but it's too late to change to a new identity.

Many, many pages ago I was worried that we might not be able to cruise because of Riker's health. Lots of you expressed such concern--it was great to feel such caring. Anyway, he's been doing fine lately, so I made the final payment today. I can't wait to meet everyone in person.

Karen

Karen,

I have 2 beagles so I can understand how attached you are to Riker. I hope his health contines to improve so that you will be able to relax and enjoy the cruise.

Talk to Ed and I'll talk to Norm. If the dinner stays at 6pm I don't mind switching, the problem may be that DCL can't accomdate us since there is a waiting list for 1st seating. I know they are trialing different dinner times I think it is 5:30 and 7:45 for a few cruises this summer. We have time to make the arrangements. We'll just keep in touch.

I must get off this board for the night.

Nancy

Rellingtwin - Correct spelling for PowerAlabama is Chrystina

Figure with all the activity going on, you just fatfingered it BUT...

Welcome to all that I have not said hello to. Just so you don't have to track back thru 79 pages (Yes, I have read them all and will be ready for the test!)

PowerAlaska (Dennis) & PowerAlabama (Chrystina) DH&DW are part of the couples (no kids) crew. He lives in Alaska and she lives in Alabama. He is from Boston~She is from Texas. He is a Project Manager, she is a Health Clinic Administrator. Add our ages together and it's over 100 (She would knuckle me!). Two cats (Socrates & Sabrina) who, of late, spend most of their time protecting the BAMA domicile while he works (Alaska) and she travels (WV, AK, TX. GE). He plays at golf, flyfishing, & runs alot. She makes quilts, embroiders, and other artsy-fartsy stuff.

Pretty much all of it. Look forward to meeting all.

Health, Happiness & God's Blessings to all

Dennis & Chrystina

Hi All

We would love to be seated with someone we "know". It is myself,(elaine, 45, husband, Bill, 45 (he will have his birthday on the cruise) and William ( the cruise winner! age 11) we have the late seating. We had the early seating last time and we always felt rushed to get out of the dining room. Also, unfortunately, we had another couple seated with us who had one little girl age 6. I say unfortunate, not because they weren't nice, but because they ALL were extremely shy and while we aren't loud we do enjoy conversation!!! Whew! Anyhow, I am a scrapbooker and stamper and my husband enjoyes talking about his 1909 Chalmers and cobra.(car, not snake!) Also likes ww2 airplanes. Actually he is pretty easy going! So... if anyone is interested let me know. Email address is:eshannon@ctcweb.net.

Karen(Rikersmom) I enjoyed my breakfast with you on the last day in February, wish you both had late seating. HOw is riker by the way?

Found some neat red pillowcases and have put the transfers on. They look good!

Night all, Elaine

Karen (Rikersmom)
Guess we must have been on at the same time. Disregard my question about Riker. Just read your last post.
I am jealous of Ed. My mom is english and I was born there. Lived there for 11 years. I go back and visit family and friends about three times a year, This year, however, what with the trips to disney and the cruise and now another one I haven't been since last June. Have been watching the fares and if we can get a good one am going to "run" over for a long weekend. I have to do some shopping!!!

Are you doing Captain Marvins? I think we have decided to maybe stay on the ship in Key West.

I saw that Dee is going the week before.

My Molly and Tucker (the "goldens" are both doing pretty well. Spend long hours in the pool in this heat. :p
If we don't have it open in the afternoon, they bark at the cover until someone goes and opens it for them. I swear they are so spoiled. Oh well, we love them. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy:
Again, Night all. Elaine

Oh there is definitely **MAGIC** in the air tonight on this thread!

Have you guys done chat yet? Not regular Cruise Chat but schedule a 9/28/02 chat of your very own!?

    To all my 9/22/01 cruise buddies
(and 9/29/01 cruise competitors - LOL)

I AM SO JEALOUS OF YOU GUYS!!! I WANNA GO!!!!

Tulirose stops tantrum now and composes herself.

Wishing you all a wonderful cruise!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled 9/21/02 thread......

NOW I'm even happier having name tags.....cause this family is growing more and more each day!!! Gotta refill my inks and get cranking on more "packages" and tags. I try and get a bunch of tags at once and then have them laminated ... much easier and more economical not to mention it cuts down on the looks from the Supply Store people ;)

Well I guess I went to watch TV too early cause you guys really went at it. I'll have to catch up on the "animal log". I have AshLee the dalmation (queen). Seems as if she has no idea she is a dog and not just a hairy little kid!!!

Well back to work .......

Hello Rosemary and all of our cruisemates!!!! My name is Mike and wife's name is Kathy. She is a neonatal intensive care nurse and I am medically retired from CSX transportation(railroad) I worked there 27 years in the track department swinging a spike maul and fixing tracks like john henry.

We are dining with @goofynut at the second seating and anyone is welcome to join us.

Key West will just probably be the conch train and looking around.

Rosemary looking forward to cruising with you and Rich again in 2003. Tell you lovely sister that we said hello. Mike

Mary, Kelsie has changed from the 09/28 to the 09/21 cruise. Mike

Hi Patty. Bring Mutt and Jeff and as they say on the price is right show."COME ON DOWN"

Just received the travel agent's info for the American Express $250.00 onboard credit called "Caribbean Magic":

The entire trip (deposit and balance) has to have been paid by your American Express card for this deal and if you already have an onboard credit then you would not get this additional onboard credit.
It would have been an additional $57.00 cost for the entire package and onboard credit.

Hope someone can use this!
Rae

:bounce: :bounce: Did you guys get an E-Mail on the new ID that we need to bring? It's still OK for US citizens to bring impressed birth certificate and photo ID but for CANADA MIKE ... You now seem to need a Passport. Art & I are bring both passports and stamped birth certs/photo ID. I guess they are getting stricter due to all the stuff going on.

It is so hazy here right now but it just dosen't seem to be able to rain. We desperately need some rain cause my lawn looks like there are a few tumbleweeds blowing around and :( it's killing my alergies. My head is ready to blow up!

Well back to work .....

 OK -- update, it rained like a cow on a flat rock (think about it). We really needed it badly. Bad news is that DD AshLee
almost pooped herself with the thunder!

On a matter that is not at all cruise related ... Can we all say a little prayer and send some pixie dust to the family of the poor little girl that was snatched up and killed by that sad excuse for a human being. It's awful to think that there are people out there that can do something so horrible ... she was just playing with her friend, too young to have that happen to her.

We need to be glad we can enjoy our friends and family and go on these great cruises and make such good memories.

OK ... sorry about the downer but it was on the news again and it bothers me.

Hopefully with the rain cooling things off a little, I can refill my printer inks and crank out "the package" and the name tags for the newbies. REMINDER ... If you have not already given me your snail mail address, I need it, PM's me.

Dennis - Mr Alaska .... What's up with the "Artsy Fartsy"? I'm with your wife in that matter and will be bringing some of my needle-crafts to do while sitting in those wonderful chairs on deck 4! Just kidding ... but it is an illness when you can't just sit without doing some kind of craft. Chrystina, feel free to seek me out and we can exchange stories, patterns, etc! Kathy (Mrs PaPa) sews, machine embroiders, etc and I believe I saw where there are others of us.

Re: the Blue Shirts - If you have a Michael's, A C Moore or other craft store near you, you may want to try them for the shirts as well as WalMart or K-Mart. I also like the idea of a pillow case and then having the characters sign it thru Guest Relations. Myself, I think I'm going to get a small t-shirt and do it up for the signatures (then when I get home I'll stuff it and use it as a throw pillow - conversation piece)

Well didn't I get wordy!!! Oops.........

Check back later.

I've booked the rental car for transportation!

Please include my husband and myself on the brunch list. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun with a big group.

@Goofynut -- hope you've got a big supply of printer ink!

We are getting to the Radisson mid afternoon (knock on wood!) What time is everyone else due to arrive?

Art & I are driving down from PA -- leaving realllllllll early Thursday morning and should be at the Raddison (with the help of God and avoiding the _ops) about dinner time. Last year we got there about 5;30ish and ate next door at the Italian Restaurant. If the mosquitoes aren't big enough to carry us away, we can try and meet at the pool after dinner.

It's friday night date night for me and DH ... that means at our age - dinner and shopping at Walmart or where-ever!

Filled my inks and late tonite I'll be a printing idiot!!!!! I like to let the 'package' dry for a day or so ... that way nothing smears.

Well gotta take inventory on what we need to shop for and food for her highness - Ashlee! BTW glad Riker is feeling better, Woof from Ashlee!

Check on youall later (Did I say that right Mike?)

PS-How's that Grandbaby doing Mike/Kathy?

She is laying on the couch rooting and pooting. It is y'all Cathy. We are driving down Thursday and spending the night at the radisson in Kissimmee. Going to the parks on Friday and drive over to the radisson at the port friday afternoon. Meet by the pool sounds great!!! Mike

Almost forgot, when we return we are going to the parks that Saturday and maybe Sunday. Still have three days left on our park hopper passes.:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :p :p :p

Well gang, DD is home safe and sound from camp! She had a wonderful time and wants to go again next year!

Papa (Mike) that's want newborns do (dodo)!LOL! IT'S THEIR JOB!

It looks like our plan of seeing the Space Shuttle launch may be scrubed. We still might stay an additional day and visit the Space center.

Who is going to "host" the Radisson Party?Anyone???We will be getting there at or just after dinner time.

New list will be in your mail boxes tonight!
