Your go-to Pasta Salad

Elbow macaroni or small shells, tuna, onion, hard boiled egg, miracle whip and salt & pepper. Simple and delicious staple that my mom and now my sisters and I make.

Yes, this is a favorite from childhood, and it is still one of my favorite pasta salads to make. Only I don't add the hard boiled egg. I do add a little bit of the water from the tuna can. It adds a bit of flavor to the mayonnaise.

And the only pasta I use for anything is Barilla Protein Plus pasta. It's loaded with more protein from chick peas and egg. So the pasta isn't just pure carbs. It takes a minute or too longer to cook. But, it tastes like "regular" pasta.

My favorite is hot Greek pasta salad. Orzo tossed with a warm lemon/garlic/olive oil vinaigrette, beans, cucumber slices, and spinach. The original recipe calls for feta cheese sprinkled on top but i prefer good hard parmesan grated over it
Recipe please 😋.

One of my most common is radiatorre pasta, shrimp, diced sweet onion, diced bell pepper, diced celery, sprinkled with dill weed and the dressing is a bit of mayo with some sour cream. The dressing is done very lightly, just to give a bit of moisture and taste, but not heavy or gloppy to overpower.

I make a sundried tomato pasta salad but when I went to pinterest to get the exact recipe the page is no longer available. :scared: So I'll have to make from memory next time...

If we're having a company than I double the recipe...
1 box of the rotini pasta boiled
Finely red onion
Finely chopped red and green bell pepper
Finally chopped black olives
Chopped sundried tomatoes
Roasted red pepper vinaigrette dressing
ETA....I forgot about the crumbled feta cheese.

Its pretty yummy. And if you use the tri color rotini, it's looks really pretty too....lol

Classic pasta salad...rotini, small black olives, cheddar cheese cubes, diced green pepper, diced pimentos, halved cherry tomatoes, small chunks of string cheese, halved pepperoni slices. Most important ingredient: Kraft Zesty Italian salad dressing.

I use turkey pepperoni and lite dressing.

My favorite pasta salad recipe is one I can usually throw together with stuff I have around my house. Whatever pasta I have in my pantry, chopped cucumbers, diced bell peppers, any other veggie I have in around that I feel like adding, and some Italian dressing.

Pasta, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, pepperoni, and Italian dressing. I usually put a dash of red pepper flakes in to give it a kick.

I generally prefer to go right pasta salad and on to the meat & potatoes :earboy2:
::yes:: Agree. We're not pasta salad people either, or any heavy salad really. Today though I was having company for brunch and I like to serve a good number of different dishes for a meal like that. I had a bit of sausage tortellini on hand so I cooked it, threw in a can of button mushrooms and a cup of thawed but uncooked frozen peas. Dressed it with bottled House Italian dressing and parmesan cheese and fresh ground pepper. It got RAVE reviews.

The Boma pasta salad is our go to. We've been making it since our first trip in 2007. It always goes down well.

  • 16 oz rotini pasta Boma uses tri-color
  • 1 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 large green bell pepper chopped very finely
  • 1 large red bell pepper chopped very finely
  • 3/4 cup celery chopped very finely
  • 3/4 cup red onion chopped very finely
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp prepared garlic
  • 1/4 tsp ground red pepper
  • 1 tbsp curry powder can add a little more to taste
  • 3/4 tbsp ground turmeric
  • salt and pepper to taste

  • Cook the noodles as directed on package. Drain and let cool.
  • Combine remaining ingredients and stir into pasta.

My pasta salad - a box of tri-color penne, a bag of shredded cabbage, some shredded cheese, and a bottle of Brianna's Asiago dressing.

I love all kinds of pasta salad, but only make it for an extra dish for company if we're grilling. That Boma salad sounds so different and fabulous!

I saw a recipe recently for cole slaw pasta salad that i want to try sometime. I'd never thought of pasta salad with cabbage.
