The Disneyland Hotel Superthread

Did they offer any refund or anything? That’s insane
They offered some compensation, but it wasn’t enough. We just wanted to get back to our vacation so didn’t push it too hard. I am regretting that a little. But I expressed to them that I felt guests should not be in these rooms right now and I wanted to share the news here for people traveling soon. We really love the DLH and other than this issue, everything has been lovely at the resort. We’ve had a great pool day for our check out day.

We had a room reserved at DH and were switched to GC due to a maintenance issue closing out a number of rooms at DH. I actually prefer the DH and am somewhat disappointed, but we're excited to have the benefit of the close walk. I guess I have some GH questions now I should go ask.
ETA: This is for an upcoming stay. Not there now.

Wow, I really wish they would have switched us or even offered rather than having to stay in the room we stayed in.

Here now and we love the hotel and our room (so much space! Beautiful pool! Adventure Tower is RIGHT next to security! All the staff have been lovely!). At least on the lower floors of Adventure Tower there are no visible construction issues or noise.

BUT I do have one complaint. They put us in a standard view room facing Downtown Disney . After getting all settled in and ready for an early bedtime, I realized we can hear the live music from the band playing at the stage across from Din Tai Fung and also the fireworks. It’s audible even with the curtains closed and a white noise machine going and will be a problem if you are a light sleeper. They also play in the middle of the day so it’s interfering with my naptime as well (the toddler is thankfully Disney tired and is sleeping through it!). I don’t want to deal with the hassle of switching rooms, but just something to be aware of when making your room requests.

We were in the Fantasy tower last year on the upper floors facing the pool and could hear it too. Careful what rooms you request. Not sure which ones are shielded from the noise.

Good lord! That's HIDEOUS! Do they really think that's the kind of elegant decor people paying those rates want? Wow, this must have been designed by the same Imagineering crew that ruined Ralph Brennan's and the upcoming Earl of Sandwich, and now they're trying to overcompensate with garish colors and clashing decor (yet somehow still have it look generic and uninviting).

Have to agree. I never liked extreme Mid-Century modern. There ARE things to like about it if it's not done to excess, but I'm disappointed in this choice for the concierge lounge. I'm also disappointed in the massive use of it in DTD. I know many like the concrete, plastic furniture, orange, brown, aqua colors, lack of embellishments but I'm not one of them. I suppose I might like it better if I hadn't lived my childhood in it.

I'm so sorry that happened! How disappointing. We had a stay like that a couple of years ago when they were building the new tower. The construction was very un-magical. I think they shouldn't put people in rooms that will be impacted by construction or damage. I'm glad your room was ok but they really should have switched you if you'd have liked that.

I think the record lamp is cool but I'm not a fan of the mural or the color scheme. E-Ticket lounge was a perfect name, I'm not sure why they felt they needed to change that.

Does anyone know the difference between 2 bedroom Junior Connecting Suite and the 2 bedroom family suite? Is it just that the living room area is smaller on the Junior Suite? The bed configuration listed on the Junior Suite actually looks like it will better fit our family with a king, 2 queens and then 2 single beds as the only option for that room type as opposed to the multiple configurations of the 2 bedroom family suite. I assume it is a 1 bedroom Junior suite with a 2 queen bed regular room connected to it which would be perfect because then both single beds would be in the living area

I'd go with the Junior suite if you're sure you like the bed configuration. We stayed in the 2 bedroom family connecting suite once and we had 1 king in each bedroom, plus a sofa bed in the living room. I was surprised at least one of the rooms didn't have 2 beds.

They didn’t offer any refund? My room lost power at poly a few years ago I got a 2 day refund .
I literally can't see Disney's CA hotels doing that unless you lose power for 2 days. And even then I'd expect to have to squawk pretty good at the front desk to get that.

And in CA's defense, reports of overly generous compensation at WDW have whittled down to non-existent the last couple years.

I would drop them an email. At least make a manager take a couple minutes of company time to respond to you. Fairly certain nothing will come of it but then one never knows.

We have a trip coming up and will be staying at the DLH for 5 days. I know this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find a recent response - can you still have your in-park purchases delivered to the hotel?
