Now if you've been reading along, I know what you're thinking... You're thinking, "OK, Lurkyloo, I
guess you could call this a pre-trip report - you've got the resort details and the ADRs.... but what about the shoes, woman - the SHOES?!!!"
The first thing I learned on the DIS is that the shoes you wear at WDW are of paramount importance if you don't want to be miserable for your entire trip. (Also, BodyGlide works wonders and
Crocs are the Holy Grail.... dunno if I've bought into that last one yet...) And the consensus seems to be that you need to trade off pairs you wear every day.
Well, all the shoes I bought at the beginning of this pre-trip report (back when it was for September) had to be returned cuz they just didn't fit right! (Except the Merrill slides - those are fabulous, but I'm afraid to let them get rained on....). And on our last trip all I wore were my trusty Eccos and some ancient Teva water shoes that the Velcro doesn't work so hot on anymore.
So yesterday I broke another cardinal DIS rule and bought new shoes three days before we leave for our trip. But I have high hopes.
Warning: they are ugly. And they are Crocs. AND they cost 70 frickin' dollars!!!
I don't even like to pay $40 for Crocs, since you can get so many great deals on Shoebuy.com, Shoes.com, etc. But I was out of time, and they were light and had cushiony padding on the inside of the straps. I'm still on the fence about keeping them cuz they seem a little too short (Men's 8 should translate to my Women's 10, but....

), but I cannot spend 10 days hoofin' it around Disney in the same pair of shoes and still call myself a DISer! Right.....?
